"Do you want me to stop?" Alistair asked, as he if ished and released one braid, only to pull over another bunch of hair and start again.
"Not as far as I know," Gabriel replied, "though he knows how to handle a knife, so he'd probably be good at it." He exhaled. "His...clone thinger was just a civilian." His head jerked up suddenly. "You can't tell him. He can't know."

"...Cause you'll stop.." Lance muttered, only to roll his eyes when Ali started a new one. "He maybe able to handle a knife but I doubt he could handle himself if there was more than one. ...No offense to him." Lance shook his head. "I won't say anything. It's not my place too. If you can keep him safe. Do it."

"If you actually asked me to stop, yes," Alistair said, and then he simply released Lance's hair, opting instead to sulk a little. As far as he was concerned, playing with Lance's hair a little was nothing - it was practically invited by that lovely impractical blonde hair!
Gabriel raised an eyebrow at Ali's antics, but chose not to comment. "I intend to. I want one thing in my life that's not touched by this stupid, awful war."

"Liar. You'll be playing with it again in another five minutes." A quiet sigh. "It's fine..." Lance said, glancing at Alistair before returning his gaze to Gabriel. "... What are you going to do when and if he ends up in it?

Alistair shifted his position so that his back was resting against Lance and his feet were up on the other arm of the couch. He was going to have a good sulk, and that was quite simply that.
"I don't know," Gabriel admitted, running a hand through his hair. "If he's Chaos, nothing - no matter Dark Mirror or Negaverse. My first girlfriend was a Dark Mirror and we were fine until...well." He shrugged. "If he ends up Order, and I find out, I either have to kill him or bring him to one of the General-Kings for corruption. I don't know if I could do either...I've met a corrupt Senshi who doesn't remember anything about who she used to be."

"Aaaand now he's gonna sulk." Lance sighed. "I'm not saying you have to do anything... Just, keep it in the back of your mind. If he does end up Order it's either you or someone else."

"Yeah, I know, and someone else might kill him," Gabriel said, his voice soft. "I just don't want him to get involved in this at all...is that wrong? I wish you two weren't, and I hope Cait's not." It was awful, and he knew it had changed him in ways he didn't always like to acknowledge.
Alistair grumbled softly, but opted not to deny the obvious because he was sulking rather childishly. Then, he lifted his head to look over at Gabriel. "Yes, but at least we're with Chaos. If we weren't..." That would not have gone well.

"You were lucky we're part of the Court." They were all lucky. "No... But it's not something you can control. Again, just keep him safe. It's the most you can do." If it happened, it happened. And Gabriel would have to deal with it then.

"I intend to," Gabriel replied. If he had any say in it, Des would never even know there was a secret war in Destiny City. And...well, he was in danger every night, so maybe it was practical to think of the little things. To remind Des that he loved him as often as possible, so if something happened, nothing was left unsaid.
Alistair sighed and shifted back into his previous position, curling into Lance's side again. He could only sulk for so long when he wasn't actually upset. "And it isn't as if you're alone. None of us want to see him hurt, either."

Lance wrapped his arm back around Alistair. "We can keep an eye out. Should we happen to see him while we're out on patrol."

"Thanks. That...makes me feel a little better." At least he wouldn't be the only one looking out for Des. He sat up a little.
Alistair settled against Lance, making a quiet happy noise. "Do you usually patrol alone?"
"Yeah," Gabriel replied. "I can handle it well enough," he explained. "It's been a year, so I kind of know what I'm doing."

Alistair casually slid himself into Lance's lap, apparently done being concerned about who they were with. "Hm. I either ought to call home or start heading there," he said casually, reaching behind him to bring some of Lace's hair over his shoulder which he began to play with.
