After the successful suplex Talon quickly got to his hands and feet springing over to Cartwright and try and lock in a classic headlock.

So far so good, the headlock was locked in and Cartwright was parallel with the canvas, an leverage from Talon's stand point. However all that would change as the Champ would begin to 'Hulk Up'. With he's arms pumping, fists shaking, and crowd rallying behind him the veteran began to stand, forcing Talon with him. Desperately trying to keep the headlock secure, Talon frantically shifted his arms and head looking for a way to keep Cartwright down. Before he knew though he felt the thumping shots of the Talented One's elbows. After a bought three of them Talon was forced to release the hold on Cartwright's head and tend to his stomach. The Bird of Prey took a few steps back doubling over in pain with arms wrapped around his gut

Well Talon tried to rub the pain out, he was hit with fast kick to the chin, sending him up right as Cartwright had planned. Before he could get his arms there to defend himself, Talon felt the stinging kicks from the Champ. Each shot seemed to pulsate through Talon's torso rocking him a bit. However it was still rather early so Talon had a lot left in the tank. He quickly refocused and wrapped up Cartwright's leg just before he could get that fifth shot in. With bad intent in Talon's eyes he quickly locked eyes with the Talented One, before shaking his head with smug grin. Talon would then try and take the Champ back down to canvas with a dragonscrew leg takedown. If successful Talon would try and keep a hold on Cartwright's leg so if he took him down he could try and lock in simple but elegant knee wrench.

Though he executed the takedown perfectly, Talon ring presence was thrown off a bit from Cartwright's previous calf kicks. So The Champ ended up near the ropes where he could find sanctuary from the Bird of Prey's technical game. However, nothing but, a long night for Cartwright was on his mind. Dispite Cart grabbing the ropes, Talon keep the knee wrench locked in. So the Ref was forced to step in verbally warning Talon to release the hold before starts the count. "One.. Two... Three... Fou-.." Before the Ref could finish, Talon released the hold. Taking step back Talon look to the Ref, as the official barked more warnings at him. Talon ignored whatever other warnings the Ref had. He knows the rules he has to the count of five.

The Bird of Prey quickly returned to the offense, looking to stomp away at Cart's knee before he could stand.

Connecting with the stomps while Cartwright still had a grip on the ropes, forced the Ref to step back in between the two superstars. He used what little referee strength he had and pushed Talon back, now yelling at him. "Let him off the ropes or I'm calling it!" Talon gave him a irritated smile as he pushed him aside, looking to grab Cartwright by the hair and wrist and help the Champ back to he's feet. If Talon was able to get Cartwright up with out a hitch, he would then try and whip him across the ring into the opposite ropes.

Talon had managed to get Cartwright back to his feet and successful whip him across the ring. Once Cartwright was bouncing back off the ropes, Talon came charging in looking to continue his offense, but the Champ had other plans. Before he could go for his attack, Talon was nailed with the forearm, sending him to the mat. Hitting his back on the canvas Talon popped up into a seated position holding his face, checking his nose to see if it was bleeding.

After checking to see if he was bleeding, Talon smacked the canvas in frustration as he begin to get to his feet. Once he was to a knee, he looked up and over to Cart only to see he's foot careening towards his face. Again Talon was made level with the canvas, as he held his face once more.

Once Cartwright was on top of Talon, the Ref dropped down and began to smack away at the mat.

1.. Two!

Before the Ref could even start to pronounce the last number in the count, Talon kicked out. Pushing pass Cart's cover to sit back up as he shook his head free of the cob webs the Champ's kick had produced.
