Isambard shoved his hands in his pockets as he strolled through the empty city. It angered him, what the world had been reduced to. Cities overrun with plants and animals, it was not right. They were for people, civilisation. One day they would return, they would rebuild what they had lost and it was his plan to help them all.
"We'll head over there then. I don't recall this place, though there is something about it. Something familiar."

Cyrus nodded in agreement as he looked around. There was something familiar about the space, though it was difficult to explain why.
"Perhaps it is difficult to remember because of its state of disrepair and the overgrowth," he mused and reached out to pull on vine that had attached itself to a storefront post. The vine resisted his tug and he only came away with a few leaves in his palm.

"The plants are strong." He muttered as he watched Cyrus try to pull the vines away. "I think it's time we put a bit of balance back into the world. Don't you?" He was sure half of the gods would happily have a bunch of prehistoric tree huggers for worshippers but where did that leave deities like him? They'd get bored with the simple life as they had before, they would yearn for more and he was there to aid the whole process. They crossed the overgrown bridge and stepped into what had been an industrial quarter. Mills and factories. Light industry.
"Weavers? Looks like fabric production to me."

Cyrus smirked lightly at his lord's muttering and nodded in agreement again. The plants were strong. They had been allowed too much freedom.
"Yes. And lumber over there. Judging by the size of the factories, I would say they were rather accomplished."

Isambard nodded and walked up to the large doors of one of the factories, they were off their hinges and on the floor, splintered and rotting. He stepped carefully onto them, walked over them and into the main factory. There was machinery there, it was rusted, much of it but posibly slavagable. Isambard walked up to the industrial looms and placed his hand on the metal.
"I think there are parts that could be taken from this and the others, some might just need some cleaning up and some oil."

Cyrus walked up to another loom and inspected it a moment.
"I would agree. They would certainly serve their purpose until new fixtures could be fashioned," he smiled a little and reached out to test a moving part. It was stubborn, but with his strength, he was able to gently get it to shift.

"We'll have to send a group back here." he looked around the large empty building, somewhere in the rafters he could hear the sound of pidgeons. "This whole city, we can use stone, steel, glass. Anything we can salvage." It wasn't inhabitable as it was so they might as well make use of it. He walked through the empty rows of machinery. He could hear the sound of it, the sound of hard work, machines at work, the bells and chatter. The whistle that signaled shift changes.

He walked to the stairs, they were made from iron and still intact, though a bit rickety.
"You might want to be careful on these." The god said to his companion, his mortal body was tall but slight, his 7ft sidekick however was built like the factory they were inside. 7ft wall of muscle.
At the top of the stairs were the offices, the brain of the factory if the floor was the heart.

Cyrus followed after Isambard and watched with a bit of apprehension as he ascended the stairs. Once he was safely up them, he skipped them altogether and materialized beside Isambard in the office. No sense risking bringing the stairs down so that Isambard could not get back down.
"It always amuses me how the offices always look the same, no matter what the factory produces," he mused with a light smirk.

Isambard laughed, that was an incredibly true statement. Time, place, universe they all posessed the same things. Desk, filing cabinets and a way to display information and statistics.
"This set of people were not technologically advanced, I'd say at the beginnings of the cycle of Industry." There were no computers or anything like that. He walked over to the desk and opened the top drawer, just ledgers, or at least what had been ledgers.

Cyrus nodded as he began to idly wander around. A set of small drawers caught his interest. No doubt they housed keys which might be of use to them. Walking over to them, his foot crunched on something that caused him to look down and lift it up. Under some rotting papers, he spotted a glint of something metal. Crouching, he reached for it and lifted it up. The bit of metal he had stepped on was a gold chain and attached to it was a pocket watch. Cy watched the disk sway for a moment and tilted his head. There was something about this watch, he realized. It was not an ordinary timepiece. There was a property there that made his senses tingle a bit. Cradling it in his large palm, he rose to his full height and turned to look at Isambard.
"I have found something of interest," he said as he looked up at him and held his hands out.

Isambard looked up from the drawer he was rummaging in and stared at the pocket watch for a moment, it was larger than your average pocket watch. He walked over to Cyrus and reached out to take the object from him. As he touched it he got the overwhelming sense that it was his.
"I know this." He said, examining the casing, etched with similar cogs and gears to the ones that were on his door. "I think it's mine."

Isambard handed the watch over willingly and watched Isambard inspect it a moment. His words set off a flash of memory and he smiled.
"Yes," he agreed and looked up at him. "I remember it now. You were never seen without it," he smirked. It had been such a small detail back then, but it was undeniably Industry's possession. He could picture it at his lord's waist coat pocket, in his hand, being checked and fiddled with. "It told you what you needed to know."

Industry smiled and pressed the button that would flip it open. Inside it was similar to a watch though with many hands, on each was a picture representing a different kind of industry. Around the clock instead of numbers were stages of production, on the lid side there were sections with numbers, like mini digital clocks, only mechanical. All the numbers stood at zero and all the hands pointed to nothing. It was ornate and most definitely magical. He wondered if Number had helped to create it at one time. At lease she was around to ask.
"Look, it's fascinating. A guage of production."

Cyrus smiled at Industry's excitement and nodded.
"I remember it well now. Those numbers and hands were always moving and changing. I wonder how it got here," he mused and glanced around. From what he remembered, it had been left behind when his lord had faded. Though he supposed looters could have gotten a hold of it after he had left to search for him. It seemed it was lucky that they had happened upon this little town. "I wonder if the last owner understood what it was," he smirked a little.

"Probably not. Though perhaps I left it here. This place is not far from the Pantheon. I could have been here when I faded." He shrugged and slipped the watch into his pocket. He would have to do something about all those zeros.
"It's certainly fortunate that we came here. perhaps this was the reason?" He could imagine it drawing their attention.
