Kole's eyes widened in shock. They were moving so fast! It was... fun! He might have giggled if he hadn't been terrified of the humans chasing them. "Leave us alone!" he yelled out, even though the humans would only hear a series of squeaks and groans.
The sharp turn made him shriek as he nearly tumbled from the wagon. his pumpkin rolled nearly over the side, but one wings just caught the other side of the wagon to keep him on, his stubby legs kicking at the air. When they straightened out, he was able to roll and flutter himself upright again.

Kyllian felt Kole's wait shift in the wagon, causing him to lose his grip for a moment before he was able to regain it. That was close! They were close! He could still smell the humans getting closer, but the trees- Kyllian put on an extra burst of speed, running so hard he could would have been sweating a river if he'd been human.
Just a little...bit...more....threre!
They broke through the tree line, and kept going, blending in with the shrubs and fallen leaves. He ran until he felt like his lungs would burst, and he was forced to slow down.

Yes! Yes! They broke through the trees, and he sighed in relief at being in the shade once more. Once they slowed down, he gave a squeak and hopped out of the wagon. He scurried over to a thick carpet of fallen leaves, and sighed again with relief. Perfect! He settled himself into the cover, and waited for the humans to run on by now that his bright orange body was hidden, only his eyes and stem peeking out to watch them go.
Once they passed, he looked over to Kyllian, his spirit body rising taller while his pumpkin remained covered, just in case. "Thank you for saving me!" he chirped, his stem swaying happily. That had been close! "Are you okay?"

Kyllian took a deep breath to steady himself and flopped back against the ground, a shower of leaves blanketing the air around him. He was only vaguely aware of the bush behind him, it's dead branches blending it nicely with his scales and hiding him from human view.
"No...No prob...Whoo!" Kyllian shook his head, and grinned as best he could. "Yeah, just tired, forget about that, we got away! We did it! Gave'm the ol' slip."

With his wings fluttering contently, he waddled toward the Tyrunt. Without giving it much thought, he settled himself right next to the other pokemon and smiled. "My name's Kole," he said, his stem reaching over to poke at his life-saving buddy. "What's your's?"

A little surprised to have the Pumpkaboo so close to him, he rolled with it, and settled into a comfortable spot next to his new friend. "Nice ta meet'cha, Kole. My name's Kyllian." He nudged the stem, responding contact with contact until he lazy leaned back against the bush. "Hey, ye're not gonna get mad if I take a nap, are ya?"

"Nice to meet you, too." Stem perking curiously, Kole giggled and nuzzled himself into the ground. "Only if you get mad at me for taking one, too," he replied. He settled most of his ghost body into the pumpkin, only the stem sticking out to make sure Kyllian wouldn't mistake him for a regular pumpkin upon waking. He felt safe with Kyllian there, and felt he could rest easy.

"Good." Kyllian yawned, poking his tongue out between his fangs. His tail came up around his legs, and soon enough he had himself snugged up in a semi-circle. The leaves provided an almost warm blanket that kept him content. That and Kole. It was nice to not be alone, and that feeling of comfort ferried him off into sleep.
