There was half a can of spam left. Half a can. Abbi how did you get yourself into situations like this?
The same questions reverberated in her mind as she hustled about her little station, whining half because she was worried and half because her legs hurt, doing her level best to prepare dishes. For a girl who only knew the boiling point of water and little else in relation to cooking, she'd managed not to completely botch all her meals, which was saying quite a lot given that she could only think of Cooking Mama meals. None of which were accomplish-able with canned or dried food. After a methodical swing of her trusty frying pan at a lazy Moon Hunter who didn't really look all that interested in actually attacking her station, the teen happened across two really fantastic ingredients. One was was a can of oats, the other a small packet of almonds that had yet to go bad. Seizing the opportunity, Abbi cut up some spam to dump into the oatmeal and almond concoction she was a really great idea.
Finally she was done, not really wanting to taste her own cooking, but all too happy to hobble over with the dishes and present them. They looked pretty nice, considering the key ingredients were spam, but somehow Abbi had been able to procure colorful plates to put the food on and had arranged them in a mostly pleasing manner. "So um! My first dish is uh... Noodles and spam that I call um... Spanoodley Sunday!" Creative names were hard for Abbi, ok? "And next we have a simple sliced Spam and pineapples and peaches. I call this... The PSP Special. Get it... Like... pineapples, spam, peaches... Yeah ok... The last one is oatmeal mixed with spam and chopped almonds. This one is a dessert dish called um like... Uhhh..." Oh no! She was drawing the most epic blank ever! "Cooking Mama's Spamiest Oatmeal Special!" That wasn't that great...
But hey! That was it, she was done. With a sigh and a small twirl of her frying pan that she was never letting go of, Abbi hobbled over to sit next to Finn and give him a fist bump. Moon Ohana and all that. "I hope they let me keep this frying pan. Its the. Best. Ever."

Marcus liked cooking. He did it daily when he had time, (and a home and kitchen to work from), and with the often sporadic schedule of being a hunter improvisation on meals had happened once or twice. Though cooking for his wife and himself, (and sometimes Dakota and guests) was a lot different than cooking for one's lead, her assistant, and under the eye of others...
Marcus had hit nervous.
Still, to try and run was just stupid. He had something to prove. At least try to. For himself. Dwight's pink ensemble given a look of 'that color doesn't look good on you it is offensive to my eyes please pick something better for the sake of actually appearing decent', and the yet to be unveiled secret ingredient, Marcus was torn.
Half hoping that this was a joke, and half hoping it was just a bad dream.
The can of spam and the smell of it told him otherwise.
Growing up on limited income, spam had been a staple, now, it was some secret ingredient- God have mercy, he didn't want to relive his childhood experiments in the kitchen.
But he would. For both pride, honor, and the chance to prove he had what it took to lead again.
Ala cooking show style, Marcus grabbed a fair amount of spam, as well as a variety of other things- namely, attention as he quickly tossed off his coat, rolled up his sleeves and began to get to work.
Work which was started by setting everything neatly only to have fellow moons and the a*****e in pink proceed to move things and keep trying to turn off his stove and only once, Marcus resorted to actually hitting someone on the back of the hand with his metal tongs.
Mostly because ******** you no body was going to touch his sauce mix.

Marcus was determined to make something that would not only actually taste good, but would do Julie proud. As he turned on the stove and cut open the cans and kept measuring, he was careful to keep an eye out, (and ear), for incoming dangers. It was difficult however, the distractions almost leading to him overcooking the sauce mix and burning the spam he had cooking.
Finding the right ingredients was also a challenge, but caned food was always an ample provider, if you knew what to look for.
Catsup and mustard in larger tins, pork and beans in smaller individual packs, and of course, sweet honey substituting for sugar. Mole sauce, canned raspberries, canned white bread- He felt like he was 14 again, trying to figure out what he wanted to eat and what he felt like trying to eat.
It was a true mystery.

The fun thing about cooking was at least, the fact it was cooking, an experiment that evolved as time went on. What started out as a his childhood feel good meal of spam and beans bowl aka the cheap kid home cooking had evolved. Sure, he was taking a fair number of hits but- "JESUS CHRIST" His sleeve was on fire. Someone had thought it funny to push the olive oil over next to the stove. a rush of flame followed by Marcus grabbing the bag of flour to douse said flame and smother his arm before he could be burned left him needing to recover time. Working with a flour covered shirt was a bad idea. But no protection- Shirt pulled off, Apron on, coat pulled back on, sleeves rolled up and pinned back with chip clips, Marcus ran back to his work station, trying to recover. He might not have time to cook another few dishes but- God damn he'd make his few look good. The spam and beans mix was poured into a bowl over what had been a small layer of 'cabbage flakes', condensed coconut milk and mole swirled in and garnished with one of the few whole raspberries. The plate it was presented on had the canned bread crisped into small bite sized chips. His second dish, simple. Spam 'grilled' and glazed with re-hydrated honey, slices of pickled red radish under it, pickled pepper on the side along with a dip of simple 'home made' hummus and onion. 'Simple'. Dis just wondered what in Jack's name Marcus had done in his childhood to have even remotely thought these dishes were even acceptable for consumption. Marcus's mental answer was just as 'simple' as his food. ' Desperation' Dis was the one who decided on the name- "Spamoon Mole and Cream" for his saucy concoction followed with- "The Question " He just set it down. He shrugged and went to go stand by Dakota, taking off his apron and asking his fellow hunter- "So if one of them dies is it our fault or will it be ruled a work related accident at this point?" Harrison couldn't cook anything that didn't come out of a can or a microwavable box with small, simple printed instructions.
Edith always had great buffets set out at the moon meetings.
He wasn't sure how he could live up to those kinds of standards. He waited for the big reveal, expecting...he didn't know, steak, caviar, expensive goose parts.
Cans were a relief. Cans, he could work with.
He picked through the cans with an expert eye, digging for the freshest in terms of expiration dates. Armed only with a spatula, he deflected missiles effortlessly with his off-hand. It didn't leave him with many cans, but he took them over to his work station with more confidence.
As long as there was a microwave and a blender, he wasn't out of the running.

Harrison donned his hairnet and a used apron, then mixed and matched without much prejudice- meatish things, powdered egg, powdered potato, anything that came in a freezedried packet.
He slopped it together with some heat and water.
Spices were important, not that he knew what half of the plastic jars did, so he added most of them... especially the ones labeled hot. No Little Debbies, unfortunately, shouldn't there be a dessert? Cafeteria duty had served him okay, and he combined the available dessert mixes (brownies, cake, pudding, jello) and cooked it alongside the main course.
Charlotte, he knew, was all manner of fancy. And fancy people liked tea. Unfortunately all he had was tang, which he wasn't sure how that heated, but he heated it anyway, and was lucky enough to find a package of animal crackers to go with it.
A few dishes may have gotten even more extra ingredients while he wasn't looking.

Everything looked hot, and not black or smoky, so Harrison yanked on some oven mitts and scooped the jumbled spam onto plates, bowls, and cups. He fended off a solitary lobbed paper ball on reflex.
First he clunked down a clear mug filled with grey, indeterminable liquid. "Protein shake," he explained, and while it was probable that some protein had gone into it, it was hard to tell what else. Tobasco, peanut butter, banana chips, beef jerky, and other dehydrated things that were once fruits and meats (with an extra heaping of spam) had been thoroughly rehydrated and liquified.
"This next one's a uh, casserole." Different from the protein shake, the casserole had a no-holds-barred approached- canned green beans, mashed potato mix, corn, apples, pears, three kinds of beans, manwich sauce, ketchup, canned bread -and lots and lots of peppers, all layered between stacked, reinforced barriers of spam. It certainly gave the judges time to...consider the textures...
Harrison watched hawkishly before adding the next course, "This one's dessert." Microwaved bacon and spam had been added to the chocolatey depths of the jello-pudding-brownie cake, and stacked high in a bowl for easy spooning. Canned mandarin oranges had been added in a smiley face on top. They drooped because of the heat into a weird melty-face instead.
And last but not least... "and some tea to finish it off." He'd finally found the instant tea mix, and heated up with the tang. The mug was surrounded by animal crackers wearing spam backpacks. It was probably better not to think what was in the bottom of the cup, although considering the special ingredient, it wasn't hard to guess.

Saya rolled up her sleeves and clapped her hands, slightly confident in her cooking skills. Spam was nothing new to Saya, although how she fared in competition was yet to be seen.
Try was the key word.
Try.
Tryyyy.
TRY HARDER SAYA.
But she wasn't so great at other applicants sabotaging her station. Q_Q
The nori sat there on the table, half ripped. The sushi rice and soy sauce stood at the corner, with the spam being fried and attacked. Why was Dwight and the others sabotaging them--
Spam was really not that bad.
She would defend the spam, all the way until the end of the table. The nori, the rice, the sushi and all of it!Round 1: 4 Round 2: 2 - 4 + 6 = 4 Quote: Roll 3d10: This is their second 20 minutes! Saya made a beeline for her ingredients, almost protectively hugging them to her chest. She was mindful not to get burned, although that was really really close. But as she tried to defend one plate, the sabotaging instigators would get to the other quickly. Her cheeks puffed out, in the end, she only had two plates left.
One was a spam gratin, some sort of melting cheesy concoction, with rice, spam and many other things underneath. Several wooden splinters as well, guessing from the status of the table.
The other was a sushi roll, mixed with spam and cheese. It was topped with mayo and other toppings, along with a soy sauce paste on the side. But evidence from Dwight showed that the soy sauce looked strange colorful like sprinkles..
The sushi was looking rather rainbow on the inside as well.
