xxxxLlyod Oswald Merriam "Falling through the void, With no sense of gravity..."
Seemingly oblivious to all the commotion going on around him Lloyd continued to survive all the animals in the reptile section. Peering into the cages and tanks all the interesting lizards and turtles and snakes. Honestly Lloyd found them fascinating, they where all like miniature dinosaurs. Images of gigantic turtles and geckos stomping across a jungle landscape filled the young boy's mind, and he quickly shook his head to get rid of the silly mental image. "probably not" he muttered, realizing they weren't exactly like miniature dinosaurs after all. As he went from tank to tank one creature in particular caught his eye. It was a white albino snake, seemingly pushing up against the top of the tank to try to get free. It was pretty clear they weren't going to succeed, as the top of the cage seemed to be weighed down specifically to prevent such a thing, but Lloyd found it's self awareness fascinating. The boy crouched down by the tank and stared into it at the snake, his calm, stoic face showing a small glint of curiosity as he tried to make eye contact with the little serpent. A pale-furred cat was quietly sitting within a cage. It had been a few nights since the feline had seen the Moon Goddess, but her mood hadn't entirely improved. Irelia was originally a demon, one whom used to guide souls into hell, at least, until she was put to work during The War. Needless to say, she was very embarrassed to have been captured, and let alone forced to play a game to have her powers return.
In regards to the rules of the game that required her to gather 100 souls, she knew it would be easy, that is, until they mentioned only one person could be killed per day. It evolved into a waiting game, and as the days pass, she couldn't help but feel that her conscience was slowly giving in to her feline urges to chase shiny objects and licking her paws to groom herself. It disgusted her.
She took a glance around the pet shop, noting all the other demons that were captured in the same manner as her. Some were more vocal about their discomfort on the situation, while others chose to observe as she did. There were even times that humans would walk by and say her name, Irelia, pointing to the tag at the bottom of her cage, and she would resist the urge to bite them in response. Unfortunately, her feline senses would let her fall victim to the wonders of being pet on the head.
"So calming," She thought to herself, but quickly shook her head. "No, I won't give in. I just have to win, and it'll all be over.
Irelia's ears perked as she heard the chime of the door, and she couldn't help but notice that two of the new arrivals would be persons of interest. Their was something odd about the both of them, but her attention was strongly drawn towards the person with short hair. A feminine figure, but something was a little off. It piqued her interest, and she got up from where she lay and approached the end of the cage, making a pawing motion towards the individual. She could only hope they would take notice and approach her.

♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ The rays of midday sunlight peeking through a gap in the curtains roused Lilia from the world of dreams. She stared at the offending beams of light with sleepy but annoyed eyes, half-tempted to reach over and twitch the curtains shut and fall back into peaceful slumber. A glance at her bedside clock, however, got rid of that notion. Yawning widely, she got up and went through her normal procedure in getting ready. Her boss had agreed to her coming in late today, as she had needed the extra time in working on several of her sketches. Pieces of paper and various artistic tools littered her apartment, some of them random designs that had sprung up randomly as she had worked, others merely test pieces for her final project. Running a towel through her freshly washed hair, Lilia looked over said project that sat on the kitchen table. It was a rather abstract piece, one she had haphazardly put together last night and part of the early morning. She cocked her head, staring at it hard and trying to discern its worth. Although it was rather hard to make money on artwork, Lilia was determined to try. It was in her blood after all; her mother already had her own gallery several in their hometown. Deciding to get someone else to value it - as she never trusted her own opinion anyway when it came to her own art - Lilia carefully packed it away in her portfolio. Said portfolio was tucked into its safe spot amongst her art supplies before she left her apartment, foregoing breakfast (or lunch, as the case may be), locking the door carefully and slipping the key into her pocket.
She hummed to herself as she went, her pace brisk as she walked along the street, wanting to get out of the midday sun as quickly as possible. Taking a short cut to the tattoo parlour through the park, Lilia felt herself instantly relax, as she knew she would. There was nothing better than being surrounded by nature, even if the sun was beating evil rays from its zenith and the park was nowhere near as bountiful as the forest she lived next to. It ended quicker than she would have liked but then the tattoo parlour came into view. She entered it with a grin, waving hello at her fellow worker behind the counter and heading straight into the back behind a glossy black beaded curtain. John Drake, her boss, only looked up at her from his open office, phone pressed firmly to the ear as he pointed down the hall. Lilia took his direction with a nod and started her work. She was still a novice when it came to inking people, although piercing was a cinch. Several of the delicate metal earrings that hung from her ears were in holes she had done herself. It was as she was cleaning the small lounge area that the employees hung out in that the light above her went out with a sharp pop. She jumped at the sound and turned a half-weary, half-annoyed look at the bulb above her. Normally it would have been an easy thing to sort out - simple call one of her fellow employees. Except they were all busy. Gritting her teeth as she steeled herself for what she had to do, Lilia made her way to the cupboard. She opened it and turned the light on, the metal ladder she needed immediately visible.
It took her a while but she managed to get it out without entering the cupboard - one foot reaching in to hook the ladder and drag it towards her. The light bulb change went smoothly, although as she changed it, she felt a sense of something almost melancholy come over her. Life had become pretty much mundane lately. Although the variety in her work schedule helped relieve some of the monotony, Lilia still found herself becoming bored by everything around her. She hadn't mentioned her feelings to anyone, not even her friend Mochi, a teenager who was more like a little brother than a friend. She sighed as she climbed down the ladder and put it away - a quick shove in the cupboard before closing the door. Perhaps it was time for one of her escapades into the local forest. It was one of her favourite hobbies, although she had not indulged in it for a while, her artwork of late having taken up a great deal of her time. Maybe that was it. Maybe she was simply restless. It never did her any good just staying in the same old places again and again. That thought in mind, she went about the parlour doing her various jobs. Lilia had just started trying to plan out when she would be able to perform said relaxation trip into the forest when Drake called her from his office. She took one look at his face and immediately said, "What does Aki want?"
Drake grinned, the type of grin only a father could get when he was about to indulge his overly spoilt yet sickeningly sweet daughter. "I need you to run to the pet store and get her a bird. Mikoto's planning a surprise party for her getting a good score in an exam, and Aki's asked me for a pet." Lilia sighed. "Fine." She could already see the possible outcomes of this venture, not all of them appealing. Still, she could never say no. Despite his rough looks, Drake was a great guy to know, if a little too doting on his daughter, who could sometimes be a minion from hell if she didn't get her way. Lilia wasn't one for thinking bad of people and even liked Aki; but the barely ten year old girl still managed to grate her nerves with the constant demandings.

(¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.-> MÄĻË ŚŅÄĶËŚ ĶËŸ <-.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯) Grace woke from her slumber. Looking around her small apartment room. Seeing her snakes in the corner. She was a lover of snakes. She enjoyed them so well. It came to the point where she was even collecting venomous snakes. She slipped across the room to say hello to her pets. Her smile growing wider, because she was preparing to go to the pet store and see if they had the snake she wanted. She has been dying to get her hands on a albino python. Running her hands across the empty cage she walked to her closet. Grabbing out a blue vest and a white skirt. A matching veil laid over on her desk. She slipped into her outfit and as she sat at a vanity table. Grabbing a brush she started to brush her dyed green hair. Clipping a snake hair piece in her hair. Her final hair piece was the veil. She placed it on her head. Pinning it in place with a couple bobby pins. Leaning over she placed on some white leggings and a pair of blue flats. Now that she was ready she bounced her way out of the house. Heading to the pet store.
Making her way there. She stopped to take a deep breath. She knew if they didn't have the snake she wanted. She couldn't be upset. She had to stay calm and happy the whole time. She had plenty of time to cry when she got home. She grabbed the door as she walked in. Her hands rung a piece of fabric in her hands. Walking to the reptiles. Looking for the snakes. She then spotted two white pythons. Her eyes were wide. She was hoping one was a male. She didn't care for female animals. They tend to bring the attitude like a human female would. Her eyes gleamed at the two snakes. Placing her hand on the cage that spelled male. She was glad they were labeled. She didn't do well talking to people. She could thank her grandfather for that. She stood there spaced out thinking about the last time she saw her grandfather and how unhappy he was with her moving out of the shrine. But she wanted to live with people and to be able to keep her snakes with out leaving them in cages. It seemed snakes were always fond of her. She could be sitting outside and one would randomly appear beside her.

Remus de la Lune The Cat's Key "Falling through the void, With no sense of gravity..."
Remus looked around as all the animals started barking, hissing, and generally acting out, which was a bit strange. Was there some sort of natural disaster coming? He had heard animals acted really weird just before something bad was about to happen. Either that or the nice looking store lady wasn't as kind to the animals as her appearance would let on. "are you sure you want a pet Lloyd? Maybe today isn't the be-...huh?" he stammered, looking around to see Lloyd had disappeared, apparently not wasting any time to start seeking out a new pet. Remy spotted him by the reptiles and smiled to himself, deciding he may as well look around too. Unlike Lloyd Remy took the far more predictable approach in browsing the pet store, going straight for the cute and fuzzy animals. There didn't seem to be that many animals in stock at the moment, but he did manage to spot a few cute hamsters and gerbils, a cute little ferret, not to mention a whole cage full of bunnies. "aawwww...so cute" Remy said dreamily, reaching in and petting some of the bunnies, noticing out of the corner of his eye that one was off on it's own, as if it had been ostracized by the others. Remy chuckled a bit and shook his head, it wasn't like rabbits really did that though, just him projecting human concepts onto them. He doubted the rabbits where really even smart enough to care if one of them was different or not. However as he surveyed the animals he noticed a tiny motion out of the corner of his eye. She turned to see a truly adorable cat pawing at her from the end of it's cage. Enthralled by the cute gesture Remy found himself heading straight for the cat, crouching down by it's cage to look into it's eyes. "well aren't you just the cutest thing?" he asked, glancing down at the cage and seeing the cat was named Irelia "Irelia huh? Hmmm that's kind of an odd name for a cat, but it kinda fits actually. You know you might be the first pet here I've seen act so nice." he said, reaching his finger between the bars of the cage to gently scratch between the cat's ears. The boy crouched down by the tank and stared into it at the snake, his calm, stoic face showing a small glint of curiosity as he tried to make eye contact with the little serpent. The cat was so adorable Remy found himself tempted to get it. He didn't have any pets himself, but they used to have several cats back home in France, one in particular, Duchess, always hung around him and cuddled up with him at night. Feeling nostalgic Remy smiled at the cat and opened the cage just enough to slip his hand in, allowing him to pet her head full instead of just scratching her with his finger. "...Spinning on and on, In our Augmented Reality" Llyod Oswald Merriam The Female Snake's Key "Falling through the void, With no sense of gravity..."
Lloyd was so occupied trying to get the strange snakes attention that he hadn't noticed the strangely colored haired woman walk up beside him. The young highschooler looked up at the wide eyed woman and cocked his head. She seemed particularly excited by the sight of the snakes, and glancing upwards he noticed she had some sort of snake hair piece as well as what looked like a....wedding veil? To say the woman looked odd was an understatement and a half. Intrigued Lloyd straightened back up to his feet and gently waved his hand infront of the girl's face, as she seemed to be spaced out "snake lady..." he said softly, his voice hardly past monotone as far as emotion went. "wedding gift?" he asked simply, glancing down at the snake she was looking over, which seemed to almost identical to the one he had been looking at himself. Grace was so caught up in the snake that she didn't see the boy beside her. She shook her head a couple times and then looked at him blankly. He called her snake lady. That wasn't too far from the truth. She then heard him mention wedding gift. She shook her head as she spoke. Her voice was soft. Like that of an angel if one has heard an angel speak. "No. I just love snakes. I guess my outfit is a little misleading. I am a maiden of a shrine and this is an outfit to show purity of the maiden." She had made it a habit to tell people about her outfit. She had always had people staring at her like a weirdo. She did love snakes though. Her eyes going to the two identical snakes. "Are you buying one as well? Is yours a gift?" Grace was a tad curious. The boy didn't look like someone who would like snakes. She then actually paid close attention to him. He looked like a girl. If he didn't speak first she would have probably call him a girl.

Grace noticed the snakes started to act weird. She bent down and looked at the male snake. Her eyes meeting his slits. She placed a hand up in front of him. Placing it on the cage, Her soft emerald eyes gleamed as she stared. She was now sold. She wanted this snake. She wanted him to be free slithering across her floor. Laying on a pillow beside her. She would never stick him in a cage ever again. "Hello. My name is Grace. Don't worry. I will get you out of there beautiful." She stood again. Looking around for the store keeper. She started walking away. Looking to find whoever it was she needed to buy her new snake. Grace knew it was rude to walk away without getting an answer, but she was wanting him to go home with her, before she missed her chance.
When she couldn't find anyone. She made her way back to the cage. Her hands placed back on the glass. She got to her knees so she was eye level with the white snake. She was enjoying the gaze he had. She could feel he was going to be an amazing snake. One of her favorites. One she will never let out of her sight. She took a second to look at the identical female. She was very aggressive towards the boy to get his attention.

Llyod Oswald Merriam The Female Snake's Key "Falling through the void, With no sense of gravity..."
Lloyd cocked his head the side when the lady spoke. She had a soft voice, almost like his, but rather than monotone and aloof hers sounded really pretty. However his attention was drawn away from that notion rather quickly as she explained that she loved snakes and that she was a shrine maiden. The boy rose a brow as she told him her strange outfit was supposed to represent purity. Lloyd couldn't help but feel it looked a bit to....slutty...to serve that purpose, but in his few years here Lloyd had found that the people here had many strange customs and beliefs he didn't understand. The Japanese culture overall had always seemed odd to his German sensibilities, so perhaps dressing in barely skin covering vest with a breeze skirt and thigh highs really was a show of purity here, things like this truly baffled the mind. When Grace asked if he was planning to buy one as well Lloyd stared at her for a moment, then shifted his gaze down to the tank, as if seriously taking a few minutes to debate whether or not he actually wanted the snake or not, as if he needed to make his final decision here and stick with whatever he told this woman. "present, for m-" he started to say to the woman, only by the time he had looked back up the girl had disappeared, leaving him alone again. Lloyd cocked his head to the side again, wondering if he had simply imagined the whole thing in his head. After all if he told Remy he had seen a scantily clad snake loving shrine maiden who seemingly had the power to teleport, he probably would have assumed he was sick. Lloyd decided to simply shrug off the strange encounter, deciding it probably was a hallucination after all, and turned back to the snake tank, just now noticing the snake he was looking at butting it's head against the glass, almost as if it where trying to get his attention. Lloyd leaned over to watch the snake's strange behavior, wondering if it where trying to smash it's way out through the glass, which would probably be as ineffective an escape plan as it's last one. "Brunhilde...Grendeline....Mauser...." Lloyd muttered softly to the snake, trying out different names for the creature to see which would fit best. "hmmm....Adelinda" he said, the showings of a small tugging at his lips. It was the german word for "Noble Serpent" and for some reason it seemed to fit well. After all the snake was acting like a princess trapped in a castle, constantly trying to escape. When the snake girl suddenly appeared again Lloyd looked up at her curiously. "apparition..." he muttered, seemingly thinking she was a ghost now, it would explain all the oddities. "sorry...ghosts can't have pets....hmmm maybe pet cemetery....but not here" he said, speaking alot more than he usually did, and it was when he had to try to string sentences together that it really showed how poor his Japanese was, one of the many reasons he was a man of few words. start How long has it been… that incessant question lingers. Though a mind does well not to dwell upon this long, it still surfaces every now and then… and in this very moment it was no exception, seemingly refusing to fade. So how long had it been since that day - since arriving in this shop? Far too long - that, that would be the resounding answer. The sky bleeds away each and every day… and yet that has now lost the benefit it once held. Wings partially lift away from his feathered torso before returning to their default position, if you will, not bothering to leave his perch - not like there was much room to move. Hell, this demon now stuck in the guise of a bird could not even manage to change forms, not in this cage. Barely enough room for him to wander comfortably let alone enough space to sustain his mortal form. This was his life - the price of failure those many years ago… and this may very well be how it ended. Albeit he would never admit defeat even to himself. A faint sound to creep from his beak, like that of mock laughter. Golden pools, dulled over time, slip to the side in hearing footsteps in the distance no soon after. Hopping up upon the next perch within his cage. Vocals lift but the words that part are not one the young mortal can understand.
The raven's mind's eye studying such youthful features, that internal dialogue to spark. “Well-well, what do we have here - an unfamiliar face?” Perhaps a new member of the store staff? She wasn’t like the others: customers, that was the word he’d heard many a time... but it is hard to be certain. However, there was humour to be found in this situation - irony even and this once proud demon was painfully aware. Yet still that did not deter him from calling out, in drawing near to the edge of his cage as the young blonde haired woman passed. Though it was practically impossible to read the minute traces upon his features, a small smile does form - perhaps more so in the mental sense. If only one would be so kind as to open his cage and let him spread his wings - if only one were so foolish. Mind you, one of his wings had been clipped to prevent flight. You see, if you clip both the chance of flight is still possible however with one clipped it has sort of a disorienting effect. Unable to compensate for the lack of balance. Clever humans - will give them that much. Guess he kind of had it coming after attempting to escape on more than one occasion. Hell, even the cage had a lock on it - ravens by nature are known for their crafty ways and intelligence… and he - well, he wasn’t your average raven. No - far from it.
Sébastien Lacroix was the name given by birth right yet here in this shop another name has been so graciously given: Paul. What the hell kind of name is Paul anyway? Paul, that some times turned to Paully, playing off that of Polly - the mere thought causes Sébastien to ruffle his feathers with mild disgust. Did he look like a parrot? Though that isn’t to say he wouldn’t accept crackers offered… that aside, should peck out the eyes of the shop owner for naming him such. Yet how would one know any better? Not like they could correct the pet shop employees or other mortals for that matter. They were but unsuspecting humans whom cast their gaze upon them - this raven wasn’t the only one who wasn't your average ‘companion’ - a fair number of them were in fact creatures of the shadows and that of fairytales, or so, what people assumed was nothing more than lore passed. Who would ever suspect they were demons - very little signs show, should have the goddess of the Moon to thank for that. Even the shop owner himself was not what he appeared to be. Guess it could have been worse - then again, this was a hell in its own right. Held captive by the very creatures they hoped to enslave. Pathetic really.
The raven’s attention adverted from wandering thoughts and toward the wolf demon as he snapped toward the young maiden. “Learn to play nice now~ one shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds.” Croaking out at Mica, an air of jest to stain his tone… albeit, Sébastien really wasn’t any better with his dealings with the mortals. Tilting his head to the side - the store bells catching proceeded by voices that carried… seems they had more guests. Always so interesting to watch - to observe both the mannerisms of humans and the demons alike. However granted his own location and proximity - not all would be in his line of sight, but a better view than most. Moving up toward the top of his cage before dropping back down as to peck at the food that had been left - might as well eat right? Pretty much all he can do these days - eat, sleep, hop around, oh and the highlight of it all - s**t. Ah~ what a life.

He had been stuttering over it for minute and a half as the news he had just heard slowly started sinking in. For Mochi the word was a dark heaviness that carried the sound of something shattering. How..How could they just leave him?! He looked over at his older brother who sat on the small couch that took up much of the small living room of the Mochizuki family's home. Sato Mochizuki watched his brother carefully, watching and waiting to see if it. The twenty-four year old knew his brother well enough to know that bad news and negative emotions released a hidden side of his usually timid brother. Sato refused to answer the unspoken question in Mochi's eyes. He would not be the one to release the beast.
"Yeah! Dad got a job a few cities over and they are going to pay him more and they say I can have my own room! Mom said the room would be bigger!" Nine year old Isamu Mochizuki went on and on, but his usually attentive brother had stopped listening. A dark hole had opened up inside of him, a whirlpool trying to suck him into the darkness where he didn't want to go, and it took all his mental strength to not let it suck him under. He had woken up at 8AM to sun shinning in his small one room apartment filling him with the promise of a wonderful new day. Nothing could go wrong when the sun was shinning right?! You could say that Mochi was a morning person, or at least an unusually happy person for someone had just open their eyes. He sang, horribly off key, as he went about his morning activites. Folding his futon mattress as well as the sheets that went with it, heading down the hallway to the bathroom that the tenants of this apartment building shared, before finally heading back to get dressed. The apartment building he lived in wasn't much. A shabby run down place that was mostly overlooked by the general populace but it was a roof over his head, and a place to sleep. Besides, he didn't make enough to stay in the apartment complexes like those by the forest. Still, couldn't complain. He had least had a job, and a pretty nifty one at that! This was the sum of his morning before reaching the apartment that his family lived in. The apartment had moved out of because five people living in a two bedroom place was causing a lot of conflict..Conflict was never good. Conflict, arguing, violence, anger, sadness. It all lead to It waking up. If that happen then...."Mochi? Are you alright?"
Mochi head snapped up and he looked at Sato, blinking slowly as he took in the question. Are you alright? He didn't mean that as in asking if he was feeling okay. He was asking if he was still Mochi. With a bright smile Mochi nodded his head. "Of course! This is great news." The nineteen year old started bouncing where he sat as a sudden excited hyperness took over him "Dad's been looking for a job for years! Things are looking up for us. I mean, sure I'll be alone and that might be hard, but I'll be alright!" For Mochi this was the simple truth. He did not deny it that he would be lonely with his family gone, but he brushed it aside with a positive comment. That was how he operated. Ignoring the bed and focusing on the good, because he honestly couldn't afford to look at the bad. But sometimes you can't escape the bad, no matter how hard you try.
'You're lying to yourself. I bet you'll just end up crying yourself to sleep.'
The room seemed to dim around Mochi as the gathering clouds outside covered the once vibrant sun. Surprised flickered across his face, which was noticed by Sato who sat up straighter and gave Mochi a stern look. "I think you need to go. Aren't you late for work?" The oldest of the siblings asked. Mochi's head snapped towards a clock hanging on the wall and let out a surprised gasp. "It's that late already!!" If he didn't leave he'd be late for work!! He jumped off the couch saying a hasty good bye and dashed out the door, zooming down the street at break neck speeds. As he ran passed shop windows he caught glimpses of himself. A youngish looking man with an innocent face, blue eyes, and a grin sprawled across his face. He loved the feeling of running, of the wind tugging at his black hair, and watching as people and places zoomed by. The outfit he wore didn't seem to match the personality you received from the face, but then he had been trying a new look for his job at the tattoo parlor, though he still worse his favorite jacket. A white and blue thing with bunny like ears hanging from the hood. It was bright, and simple, and cute and just matched him perfectly! He loved the jacket and wore it no matter what season it was.
He arrived at the parlor just before his shift began, out of breath but on time. His job was fairly simple, watch the desk, help the customers, clean when he saw a mess, answer the phones. He pretty much did all the odd jobs that everyone else was just to busy to do, including cleaning the bathroom. As he sat behind the counter Mochi pulled out a sketchbook and started doodling, a calming exercise, or rather habit. It started out as simple lines but it eventually turned into butterflies swarming around a flower. He was absorbed in the sketch, zoned out from reality, so when the phone rang he jumped. The pencil flew from his hand and rolled across the floor. "Hello!" He said cheerfully into the cordless phone as he retrieved his pencil, sitting back down at the front desk just as a chime over the door informed him someone had entered. Looking up he spotted Lilia waving at him. He smiled back, waving energetically, then returned his easily scattered attention back to the phone call. "Sure, I'd be happy to set you up an appointment, though that particular artist is booked thoroughly on Friday. Would Saturday be alright?" Ah, yet another one of his many jobs, booking the time when people would come to get their ink done. He himself had no piercings or tattoos, but that had never seemed to stop Drake from hiring him. A few minutes later Mochi hung the phone up and closed the appointment book he had taken out.
'You're family is abandoning us and you're just treating this like its any other day!'
Mochi's hands curled into fist clutching the ends of his jacket as the voice bounced around his head with an anger growl. He tried to ignore it, to think of something else, something nice. "Dad got a new job. That is great and we should be happy for him. Mom and Dad have been struggling for a while, but now things will be alright." Mochi smiled brightly to himself as he said it. Yes, things would get better for his parents, and Isamu as well! Isamu could have his own room for the first time and he could have new clothes. Isamu would be happy and that made Mochi happy! He spun around in the swivel chair, just smiling like a happy fool, when he heard Drake and Isamu talking. "OH! I'll go too!" he didn't even ask, just hopped up and darted out the door in a mad hurry. From inside the shop you could see him dash past the front the window, the ears of his jacket flapping out behind him. A few seconds later he came back, stickinghis head in the door and looking at the two he had left behind. "I can go, right?" 《════♦════》 || ════ ▒▒▒▒▒ ════ 《════♦════》 ════▒▒▒▒▒ ════ || 《════♦════》

♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ A yell and a streak of blue rushed out of the parlour. Lilia poked her head outside to peer with wide eyes at Mochi, who promptly stuck his head back in and asked if he could go with. She laughed, even as Drake sighed and said, "Fine, fine." Then in a quieter voice, he said to Lilia, "Please, just keep him out of trouble. You know what he gets like around animals." Lilia grinned, slipping the money he handed her into her back pocket, and waved a salute before joining Mochi outside. The young blue haired boy was all but bouncing with excitement in the middle of the street. As usual, his signature white and blue jacket was in place, making him look even younger than he really was. Lilia called it his "bunny jacket". As per her custom, she tugged gently on one of the soft "ears" before setting off down the street with him.
As they walked at a casual pace - Lilia had no desperate urge to get to the pet shop very quickly - she struck up conversation with one of the few good friends she had. "Hey, Mochi. How are you this morning?" If she had to be honest, he looked a little strained beneath his bubbly exterior. It wasn't obvious, even for those who knew Mochi well, but Lilia had learned to see it for a while now. Every now and again, faint lines would appear around his mouth and eyes, as though he was fighting the urge to do or say something. She didn't know if he had noticed her noticing, but she still hadn't found it in her to ask him about it. For a friendship, theirs was still quite new and Lilia would rather cut off her arm than say anything that could damage it.
Familiar thoughts of an ex-best friend entered her mind and then were immediately shoved out. Lilia hated thinking about Kakari and everything she had ended up standing for. Anger. Disappointment. Betrayal. All the emotions she hated. Forcing herself to brighten up, she linked arms with Mochi, partially using the contact to ground her mind in the here and now. The pet shop was within seeing distance, and Lilia could already make out the forms of cages and animals and people. And cages. She shivered. She hated cages most of all. Nudging Mochi with an elbow, she asked, "So why did you want to come with me? I'm only buying a birthday present for Aki."

Irelia let out an involuntary purr as her person of interest approached the cage to pet her. This person seemed to be familiar with how to care for cats, as she felt like she was in cat-heaven or something.
"Disgusting," she reminded herself, as proceeded to push the hand away. She couldn't stand the idea of giving in to her animal form's weakness. With a quickened motion, she pushed the cage's door open with her paw and pounced onto the 'girl's' shoulder. It was a nice place to be perched up on, and from a simple guess, 'she' seemed to be about the same height as her, if she were in her true form.
Irelia mew'd in a satisfactory tone as she curled up around the back of the 'girl's' neck, rubbing her cheek against 'hers' in a sign of gratitude. Now was the perfect opportunity, and if she was lucky, she would be adopted and be able to leave the uncomfortable pet shop. She gave a look towards the owner of the shop, a demon who had captured her along with the rest of the others and trapped them here.
"It starts now," she mused, though to keep her identity in check, it only came out as a few meows.
"Let's see if things go according to plan," the cat thought as she turned her attention back to the human she was latched to.

Azalea Blaxe Known as the ⇨Wolf's Key A sudden warning growl hit Aza’s ears as she turned to examine the dog. His fur was sticking up as if to show his irritated demeanor. Not being one to push many boundaries, the blonde retracted her hand right before the animal clamped down his teeth. A sense of disbelief washed over the girl as she turned to check her hand. Flipping to her palm and then back to the top of her hand she let out a sigh of relief seeing that there where no marks. Perhaps this was the reason why he was on discount?
Feeling the burning gaze of the protective animal, Azalea returned the stare but held a more curious expression. His cold blue orbs where filled with complete hatred… this dog would never sell if he acted like this. Making sure to close the crate door she gave the dog one last look over before heading off to attend to a few other animals. The store seemed to fill up over time and this made the blonde just a bit nervous, this was her first day after all.
“Ah, yes this dog would be perfect. He’s none allergenic and a sweetheart.” Azalea stood talking to a couple who where interested in by one of the few puppies the pet shop held. Taking hold of the animal she let out a giggle when he started to nibble on her ear. “See, he wouldn’t harm a fly.” She stated while cuddling the pup into her arms. Aza had a way with both animals and children which wasn’t an odd mixture to be comfortable with, but it did make it hard communicated with those who where her own age. Soon enough the young couple bought the puppy and even a few important products.
Returning to the front desk Azalea reached into her bag and pulled out an apple. She wasn’t that big on eating fruits but it was the only thing that would last through her work shift. Finding a knife in the break room she cut the apple into eighths and brought it out to the front desk. At that moment her eyes happened to fall upon a stunning bird. Arching a brow the blonde walked over to the cage only to notice the tags. It was a rather expensive bird one that she would assume would either sell quickly or sit for a while.
“Raven.” Azalea said to the bird as if using it for a replacement name. “It seems you also got yourself into trouble.” She noted his clipped wing and opened the back part of the cage. Slipping in a few pieces of her fruit she locked the cage and went back over to the cash register.

Drake sighed as he gave Mochi permission to go with Lilia to the pet store. "YES!" Mochi exclaimed, throwing his hands up in victory as he went back outside to wait for Lilia. He loved animals! The cuter the better and the thought of being able to interact with such animals soon made the day infinitely better. He bounced on the balls of his feet as he waited, wishing Lilia would hurry up, even though only a few seconds had passed. It wasn't that he was impatient, just eager to be off. His trademark grin was on his face and he waved at the people who walked by. A tug on one of the ears of his bunny jacket and a quick glance to his side informed him that Lilia was passing by. "Wait for me!" he called, scrambling after her, adjusting his usual quick pace to her more causal one.
"uh..My morning? I-It started out alright." He stammered as he looked up at the sky. More clouds had rolled in and the wind brought with it the smell of rain. The sun from earlier that morning was lost to them because of those fluffy dismal things. Funny how the day was starting to resemble his mood. The sun fighting against angry clouds. Mochi didn't like to involve his friends in his problems, didn't want them to get hurt because he was unable to keep control, but Lilia had asked about his morning. Mochi was never one to lie. "Dad got offered a better job in another city so they're moving." Only for the briefest of seconds did sadness leak through into his voice, his smile faded just a bit, and he tugged at the ear of his jacket as he looked down at the worn sidewalk. But then he was himself again, bouncing forward with a smile, and spinning around to see his friend as he walked backwards. "Isn't that great? They can get a bigger place now, and Isamu can get his own room. He's never had his own room before, He'll like that" He turned back around and fell back into step beside her. "What about you? Have you had a good morning?"
Mochi is an incredibly oblivious person and thus the fact that his friend's mood had sour a little as she though passed right by him. He could see the pet shop in the distance and he started bouncing up and down in excitement. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of animals they had. Surely the usually cats and dogs, the favorite of all kids. Mochi loved them but his favorite were the bunnies. They were such cute little furballs. They had cute little twitching noses, and they nibbled on food cutely, and they had cute little tails. They were going to slow! Mochi just wanted to take off running for there now! "Huh?What?" he asked, dragged out of his thoughts by Lilia's question. "Why not! Cute animals. Lots of cute animals!! Oh I hope they have new bunnies! Or maybe hamsters!!" The fact that their arms were linked together was the only thing keeping him from tearing off towards the shop on his own. When around animals he was very much like a kid in a candy store. He couldn't sit still, hoping from one to the other, his hyper activeness jumping to a whole new level. Animals never judged you, are expected anything, and they always seemed so happy to have you around. An animal would never let you be alone if they could help it. "That's it!" he suddenly exclaimed, jumping up and down in his excitement. "I should get a pet! Then I won't have to worry about being alone with everyone gone. Come, Lilia, we need to get Aki that bird," Aki was a spoiled child, even Mochi could see that, but he still liked the little girl. Someone as childish as him easily got along with children. Deciding their pace was to slow he picked it up to a fast walk, pushing them faster towards the shop door, and not slowing down till the bell over the door chimed as they walked in. 《════♦════》 || ════ ▒▒▒▒▒ ════ 《════♦════》 ════▒▒▒▒▒ ════ || 《════♦════》
