Leo hung his head, he was very afraid that it won't be successful; if that happened then they would have wasted thousands of dollars, he wasn't sure he was ready to face that guilt just yet. "I am afraid it won't be successful. But I'm more afraid that the doctors will say they can't do it to begin with. I don't want to get my hopes up for something that may not happen." Leo said softly, placing a hand against one of his eyes. "I know its really hard being blind right now, but I'll get better at it with time. At least thats what the doctors told me when this first happened." Leo looked up in the direction he heard his brothers voice and gave a very small smile.

Leo gave a soft laugh. "We grew up together Ash, I would never forget what you look like." he said with a bright smile, grabbing the fork which was right by his left hand. "Come on, lets eat dinner and go to bed. Oh, I think we need more food, and I know your working tomorrow so if you give me some money tomorrow before you leave I can run up to the store! It shouldn't be too hard if I take the bus, they always announce what stop they're at so I'll find my way there and back."

Leo looked up at his brother and stood up in anticipation. "Really? Could we go to the fair? I heard on the radio that it's going to be a small one, not too many rides but there will be food, music, and games!" he said excitedly, this couldn't have come at a better time, he didn't want to tell his brother about the fair to begin with since he knew Asher worked hard for the both of them. "You could win me something! Or I could win you something!" he said happily, the excitement was barely contained. Leo never was good at hiding his emotions.

Leo smiled and sat back down carefully, establishing that his chair was still behind him before placing his weight on it. He was so excited that he practically ate his dinner in one bite. "We should make sure to play the rubber duck game! The one with the ducks in the pool? I like that game the most." he said, imagining the little ducks he saw as a child when they went as a family. "I hope they have the frogs for prizes." Leo's innocent mind ran wild with colorful images of the carnival lights, couldn't wait until morning. Leo took off the bandage around his head to touch his eyes, sometimes they still had a bit of discharge that needed to be cleaned, the doctor had said it was normal. "I think I'm going to take a shower. My eyes need to be cleaned." he said softly, trying hard to avoid turning his eyes to his brother to spare the man from seeing the redness of the sclera and milky white opaque pupils.

((For clarification, the sclera of the eyeball is the white part....I had to look it up lol))

Leo heard his brother get out of his chair and walk his way but didn't think the man was walking toward him and was taken a bit by surprise when he felt Asher's hand. "Thank you....." he said softly, enjoying the tight embrace from his brother. Sometimes he just needed to be reminded that his brother loved him for who he was, not what his eyes looked like. "I'm sorry for hiding, I guess I'm still a bit self conscious about the way they look." he said, taking a step back from the embrace to very gently rub his eyes. "I should get in the shower, I don't want them getting infected." he said with a gentle smile, moving away from Asher carefully and counting the steps to the bathroom.

After his shower, and carefully cleaning his eyes, Leo wrapped himself in his fluffy robe and made his way to their bedroom. Asher had become so worried about him that he picked an apartment that only had one bedroom on purpose. Leo didn't mind it, ever since they were kids they shared a room, plus it gave Leo less time to find everything without having a second bedroom to complicate his spatial skills. Leo sat on his bed to dry off, using the tissue to dry his eyes carefully.

Leo shook his head. "Not anymore. Sometimes they sting a little if I cry but not too badly." he said softly as he put the used tissues in the trash right next to his nightstand. "We better get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow!" he said with a smile, pulling back the blankets and snuggling right into his bed. It wasn't long before Leo had fallen into a somewhat restless sleep.

A few hours later, Leo began to twitch a little in his sleep and groan. His mind ran wild with dreams he couldn't stop if he wanted to. Leo could see a dark alley with a red haired woman laying on the ground in her own blood, he tried to scream but nothing came out. As he turned around to find someone to help, he saw someone standing behind him. The man was tall and had a gun pointed right at him. Before the stranger could pull the trigger Leo woke up and stood upright in his bed in a loud gasp. He could feel his heart beating and his hands tremble. Leo swung his feet off his bed and tried to calm down.

Leo was glad to have his brother by his side, he never had dreams like this one before. "Yeah.....just a nightmare. I saw a woman in an alley. She was dead, and when I tried to get help there was someone behind me with a gun." he said softly, burying his face into Ash's chest. "I can't get her face out of my mind." Leo said softly, feeling his eyelids grow heavy again as he grew more weary. "Can I sleep in your bed?" he asked softly, knowing his brother's bed was bigger than his own.

Leo cuddled with his brother and tried to calm himself further. "I was thinking about how cute the frog prizes were at the ducky game." he said softly, giving a big yawn and resting his head against Asher's chest. "I don't want to talk about it anymore. Lets sleep so it can hurry up and be tomorrow." he said softly, trying to concentrate on sleeping. Though it seemed he more he concentrated he harder it was to fall asleep, it seemed to work after a couple hours though.
