Noah took the hand up with good grace, looking just mildly embarrassed. "Not like the bed's much more comfortable than the chair," he said as he brushed himself off. "I swear that mattress, like, feels like someone put a sheet on a block of concrete. Are all the beds that bad or is my luck just really bad and I got the worst one? Uh, hi, how are you doing?" he added belatedly.

"I wouldn't know," Al admitted with a playful tone. "I don't have one."
Noah's question reminded him why he was even there and he grabbed his supplies off his desk and showed him. "Help me out man?"

"You don't have a bed?" Noah gaped at Al. "Where do you sleep? Do you have a room, that's a dumb question, of course you do ... right?"
"Oh, sure, yeah," he nodded, and took the supplies. "Did you bring a bottle of water or something so I can clean it? I don't have any water in my room right now, I finished my bottle before I fell asleep and you shouldn't put a fresh bandage over a wound that hasn't been cleaned."

"Well I do. But I don't. It's awsome it's a ******** mound of comfort. You should see it. I do have a room too but like. Not completed exactly?"
Al fell silent at the wound talk. Noah apparently knew what he was doing. Al did not. "Um... no. I didn't uh. Didn't think that was a thing."

"Not completed? Like, in the basement?" Noah gave Al a puzzled look.
"Okay," he said. "I'll just have to run down to the bathroom and get some water real quick then. Stay here, I'll be right back." He picked up an empty water bottle from his nightstand and trotted out the door.

"Naw man, I'm just down the hall. I can show you." He leaned back to watch Noah go before slipping his scarf, coat, and finally shirt off. He left the articles of clothing in one heap on his chair before going over to test the bed. It wasnt that hard. He tucked both hands behind his head and sighed comfortably.

Noah trotted back in a few minutes later with his water bottle filled up and a handful of paper towels. When he saw Al flopped out on his bed shirtless he slowed to a halt, turned red, and averted his eyes. "Um, you're, um, going to have to sit up so I can help you with the bandages," he said. His eyes flickered back, then away, then back again, focusing on the bandages, and his embarrassment turned to a frown. "Oh man, they're dirty, you should've asked me sooner."

Al glanced over his arm at Noah, apparently he was back. Why was he talking funnyish. Was it something he di- oh. It was the bandages. Great, he was going to hear it from him too? At least Noah he knew well enough that it seemed like he was allowed to fuss to some degree, but still.
Al sat up on the bed and then threw his legs over the side, "Come on. It's not that bad."

"You don't want it to get infected, right?" Noah moved over to unwrap the bandages, peeling them away gingerly and putting them on a paper towel on the nightstand so he could dispose of them easily afterwards. He opened a packet of gauze, wetted the pad with water from the bottle, and started carefully cleaning the injury. "What happened? It looks like it was a pretty clean hit, but it must've taken a lot of force, this is right through, wow. Jeez, that must've hurt. Were you fighting or something?"
Once he'd gotten the dried and mostly-dried blood sponged away, he took another clean pad of gauze and patted it dry carefully, then picked up the roll of bandages and started rewrapping the injury, his hands quick and businesslike. For all that he was hesitant and awkward about some things, when he had a task to do, that fidgety nervousness faded somewhat.

"Well... no." Al sucked up any wincing he was tempted to do in the face of someone he really didn't want to think he was weak. "I was kind of. Eh. Shish-Cael-bobbed to a wall." He flashed a toothy grin at Noah though he may be too new to catch the pun.
"It was a punishment."

Noah just looked a little confused at the pun, but put the odd pronunciation down to Al's accent. "Wow, that sucks," he said, but he sounded a little impressed. "What'd you do?" He didn't seem to be surprised by the thought that Al might have done something he'd get punished for.

Al debated on what answer to give as the truth made him sound innocent, but at the same time weak.
He flashed a small grin, "I was caught helping some sun's cheat." It wasn't a complete lie. It was sort of cheating. Guiding them to get more candy and stickers. For him. Yeah. Noah didn't need that detail.
He sniffed with an aire. Yeah, that's totally cool.

That answer earned Al a frown from Noah as Noah finished wrapping the bandages and taping them down. He wasn't the sort to express his disapproval by being rough, but that was definitely disapproval. "Why'd you do that?"

Al squirmed at the bandages. Tight. Too tight.

"Sorry, did I bump it?" Noah looked worried.
"Cheating's stupid," he opined, and shook his head. "If you cheat, that just shows you can't do what you're cheating at."
