I wouldn't say that, those look like the perfect stats for your wilder. 17 to Charisma, then choose if you are going to be front line warrior or rear support. Just put your best in the fields as you see your character... Stats rarely make the character, the player makes it...

Stats do make the characters basics.
The character only embellishes upon those.
Cant have a 7 int brainiac.
Or a 6 int fast talking conman.
Str, Dex, and Con
17, 15, 16...
Can you say double battle axe orc?

Dumb as a rock, hits like a train, smells like a pig.

But, you can have a wilder 17 Charisma and a 16 Intelligence to be a fast talking person who is easy to like, knows what he is talking about, and hits like a mad truck with psionic power at a distance. Or a Psychic Warrior with 17 Wisdom, 15 Strength, and 16 Constitution who sits on the front lines defending his allies with a mix of power and might. OR a a dumb battle axe swinging orc... It is how the player sees the weaknesses that becomes the true weaknesses of the character.

I'm thinking going human, putting my 16+2 in dex, 15 in wis, 14 in cha, 12's in the rest. A slightly pithy Quip meister, who has a bit of dash and flair and loves the finer things in life.

Change him from a gunslinger, not saying do so, and into a fighter...and you have a character in a book I just read. lol

I am going to hang back and wait for what everyone else is going to be. I normally fill the role of a healer, if no one else plays it, but currently in love with a warrior type class...

I was thinking of popping the healer.
The issue I have with being a healer or magic user in general...
Well its with my characters motivation.
Its never pure
Well, it doesnt stay pure long...
Oh man...
Did i tell you about the time a paladin slighted my necromancer when we were level one?
Long story short...
The player regretted his characters decisions...
14 sessions later.
And my character ended with the hand and eye of vecna..
Yeah...
Good times...


But yeah, ill probably go a fast talking something or other.
I usually play a rogue or wizard type guy...

I like to talk, outsmart, and what not.
Subterfuge is the name of the game.

Ill have to take a look at the psionic classes, let my mind chew on the stats, and get some more info about the world.

Standard fantasy world with psionics rather than magic?
Is it feared?
Are psionics extremely common?
Rare?
What are the interracial feuds that we will be dealin with?
Is there a bardic version of the psionic-- books say no but... I mean...
I want.

Will the Old Ones be around, or cults of them?
AKA will making a psionic disciple of Yogsothoth be nonexistant?

Will there be... mindflayers... all over the place... *shudder*
I know a lot about the 3.5 psionics and have played some really awesome psionic games, one of my favorite things are the mindflayer hunters.
Would a mindflayer slaying vendictive bag of hate be out of place?

I know these are alot of questions.
But Id rather build my character into being acceptable in the world that your creating rather than you creating a world around my character.
The latter can be annoying when you have 6 people with wildly erratic characters-- I would know... I DM for the biggest group of s**t birds to ever live.

And... I will have more questions later.
