Not wanting to let her team down, Mayaa picked up the rope and tugged.

Displays of brute strength really weren't her forte, not to mention the field was disgusting and totally unacceptable. UNACCEPTABLE.

Christof lurched to the end of the rope, watching his team mates all put their all in. Judging by the way things were struggling, they were already leaps and bounds above some of the other teams. He shrugged out of his coat, untucking his third arm from where he kept it wrapped under his other right arm's pit before cracking all three sets of knuckles and taking a hold. "WE GOT THIS," Kettil announced at the top of his lungs trying to encourage the others as he grabbed a hold of the rope. Barbed wire and some glass shards bit into the palm of his hands causing them to bleed, he grit his teeth and pulled harder.

When it came down to a test of strength, Ruth did not give her all. Even if it was the last effort in the Dorm Cups, she really did not bother giving her all. The tikbalang knew it all boiled down to this round. It was a matter of strength, not luck, as far as he was concerned. Mostly because he didn't believe in luck, and based on his experience, luck was what you made out of a situation. So he was fortunate enough that the section of rope he got wasn't too bad. Lattice got to her station at the rope and there was a fierce determination to her stance. There was no way she was going to let her fellow ghosts down! She grabbed a hold of the rope and gave it a mighty pull despite the oil and other nasty surprises awaiting her on the rope.

Lee's expression hardened with each bite of pain, each new texture on the rope, but it was better than the tireless dark.
Lee did not tire either. He had learned that, at least.

Tanita ran back to the field after doing her best work she could at the Monster Booth. She really needed to remember to visit the other booths before the Cup was over! In the meantime, she eyed the Monster's section of rope, in mild disbelief. Good Grief, it was the obstacle course in rope form, it seemed. She grumbled at the ridiculousness of this fact, and grabbed hold of the rope. When the signal came, she began to tug and pull as hard as she could, a determined look on her face, her hands placed to avoid the barbed wire she'd been so lucky to end up next to. Pickworth felt a certain terror at the fire, the broken glass, but he looked at everybody, everybody who was trying so hard, and knew he couldn't let them down.
He rubbed his hands together to rid them of sweat, and pulled- HARD! This had little success. His small arms were oddly defined, but couldn't compare to the thick, hulked out monsters, or the supernaturally physically tough undead.
Pickworth had to do something. So he summoned Buzz square between his feet, and anchored his sneakers in the handle. He squeezed his eyes shut. Astra didn't have much hope of doing to well in this round, She was not particularly strong, and her size didn't lend well to a situation like this. Oh well, she would do what she could for the demon dorms. Finding a spot along the rope, she picked it up and began to tug on it as hard as she possibly could, trying not to focus on all the mud and other obstacles scattered around. She didn't seem to be doing so bad, all things considered. At least she wasn't hindering anyone. Sheelah stepped into the mud staring at the rope hoping to do well in this round. She grabbed the rope and... "Ouch, Glass!" She quickly grabbed another bit of rope but again. "Ouch." This time barbed wire! They didn't make it easy for her did they? She grabbed yet another bit of rope and pulled as hard as she could. This wasn't easy because she was slowly sinking down into the mud. But she kept pulling the rope and had the feeling she didn't do to bad. The others helped alot too so she was confident they were going to win. No being kicked out for her dorm this round ... she hoped. She had been waiting for this game. There was nothing else involved in it besides pure strength, and this was were Poke felt she excelled. Her claws twitched in eager anticipation as she found a spot, then grabbed the rope in a firm grip. The stuff along the rope was ignored as she dug her feet into the muddy ground, bending her knees to gain some leverage. And then she began to pull. Her teeth gritted as she grunted and growled, summoning all her draconic strength, and was satisfied to feel the rope shift in her favor.
