Amriela stared at her hound, dreading getting ready to go out to the party commemorating the now present Moon Festival. She sighed, Aku turned his head to look at her.
"You have to go!" He pleaded with her.
She simply smiled and nodded. She knew it was an important event, but she was just not in the mood to go out tonight. Regardless of her feelings, she got up and began to browse through her clothes. She picked out a vibrant green dress, one that accented her eyes perfectly. She brushed through her hair, washed her face off a bit and turned to Aku.
"Well, how do I look?" She asked him out loud.
It was odd for her to talk to him out loud, it felt almost unnatural. She smiled at the hound and he smiled back at her.
"You look amazing" he responded, his voice echoing throughout her head.
She smiled at him and prepared to leave.
After leaving home Amriela approached the place of the party. It seemed as if the whole town was there, she was overly anxious to be seen with Aku, she wasn't sure how people were going to react.
"Well here goes nothing Aku". She met his eyes as she mentally spoke to him.
As they made their way into the crowd, Amriela watched as people stared, some looked away, and some just scowled. They looked at Aku like he was nothing; like he was a simple dog not meant to come to this party.
"If only they knew, if only they knew that this festival is for you, for you and all other hell hounds! It's not fair that they look at you like that!" She looked at him in despair.
He brushed head against her hand, reassuring her that he was okay, that this festival, that this night was a good thing. She continued to walk, pushing her way through dancers, people walking, and trying to get out of the way of people running into her.
"Aku look! Look straight ahead!" She exclaimed.
She ran up ahead of here, there stood a small group of people conversing, and with them, stood hell hounds. When Amriela reached the group, she was already out of breath, it was a much longer distance than she expected.
"Hi.." She gasped for air.
"I'm Amriela, and this is Aku" She said, pointing to her furry companion.

Murphy tugged at his neck cloth, trying to get a little breath of air. He didn't dress up formally for many occasions, but tonight called for it. There would be people of all social standing here, and the last thing he wanted to do was stand out. Of course, having a huge Hell Hound at his side might cause some staring, if only for the sheer size of the beast. The Summoner glanced up at his hound as the thought occurred to him that he might cause a scene, but a quick shake of Kasar's head let the quiet human know that everything would be well.
With a little sigh of resignation, Murphy headed in to the party. He'd arrived a bit late, having gotten lost. He wasn't used to the huge city, even though he'd grown up on the shore with the spires of the city in the distance, and had come to work in the port. He rarely left the docks until recently, though. After finding Kasar, he'd had to move to a more remote location outside of the city, in the fields, as part of the deal. Now he was completely out of his element, and looked to the Hell Hound for guidance.
There. In the corner. Do you see them? Other Hounds. Murphy followed Kasar's gaze and spotted a few other large canines, as well as their Summoners. He nodded just a bit to let his Hound know he'd spotted them, and began to weave his way through the press of people. They parted for him without much fuss, barely paying any notice to Kasar. Murphy stopped a few feet shy of the ring of people, preferring to watch instead of interrupt. They could be friends, after all. While he'd never seen someone with a Hound other than himself, he decided it was better to play it safe and wait to be spoken to than to speak up.
Kasar had other ideas, though. He bobbed his head in greeting towards the other Hounds, a little grin on his face.

Avlur fell to the ground from a near by girl bumping into him, falling to the ground he had no idea what was going on. He picked his head up and saw as the girl was apologizing to him. At first he focused on the girl speaking but slowly tuned her out as he turned to see a hound next to here. "This was turning out better then he thought, the more hounds that come the more info he could collect" He thought to himself. He began to get up slowly, as he did he watched as another girl walked over and said hi to the group.
"Avlur are you sure I shouldn't come out? Maybe you could get more info out of them if you can show them you're one of them" Assan spoke mentally to avlur. He took a few steps back and had stopped moving.
"Im sure, stay in there unless trouble ends up happening" Avlur thought to the hound, making sure that the hound understood him.
He looked at the all of the ladies standing in front of him. He had asked the other two about the hounds, this time he would ask the other two as well.
"Hello you two! I see you also have some nice healthy, large dogs! I am not around here you see and I am wondering where I could get such a pet. Any ideas?" Avlur said to the other two girls hoping to get a answer this time. He stood back as he waited for a response with eager ears.

Amriela giggled to herself, she was surprised the tiny girl could knock down the tall man that stood in front of her.
She looked to Aku. "What do I say?" she asked him in her mind. He shook his head, she knew that he was just as lost on the matter as she was. She contemplated what to say, she wasn't really sure how she got him in the first place, and she definitely didn't know how to explain what a hell hound was to someone who didn't have one for himself.
"Well, he kind of found his way to me." she explained. She wasn't sure what else to add.
"Umm..." she hesitated. "I don't even really remember how we came to be together, but now we are inseparable, do you have an interest in dogs or something?" Aku rubbed his head against her hand as a sign of love.
"Oh, I didn't catch your name... What was it again?" she asked the man in front of her.
It was then Aku turned his head. There was a man heading their way. He let out a small sound to catch Amriela's attention.
Amriela smiled at the sight of the man and his hound approaching the group, she smiled and waved his way.

Avlur listened very carefully to what Amriela was saying. Sadly it was not any of the information he was hoping for. He was running out of ways to figure out if these people were summoners or simply a group of people who loved having exotic dogs. This plan was obviously dying pretty fast. He needed to come up with something quick.
"My name is Avlur" He spoke to Amriela with a very optimistic voice. "What brings you here today, to the festival. What brings all of you here actually?" He said changing the subject away from the hounds. He felt that asking to much about them would get annoying and drive them away. Avlur did notice Amriela's hound looking behind them and looked back as well. He also saw the man behind them with a large dog as well.
"You know! I actually have this great book im reading that talks about our countries history." Avlur spoke with excitement. He brought the book up and showed everyone in the group. "It talks all about these creatures that once lived around here." He said hoping someone would ask what kinda creatures did in fact live around here at one point.
"This plan isnt working. You should feel as bad as this plan." Assan mentally spoke to avlur in a hush whisper.

Amriela let out a small sigh, she wasn't sure if she should tell him or just continue on with her original story, if she told him Aku was a hound he might just laugh it off and not believe her, or he could believe her and then more questions would really start.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Avlur." she started. "Actually, today is very special, this festival is celebrating our countries history, it is celebrating legend and lore" She explained. "I came because I want to be a part of that celebration, I want to discover more of our countries beliefs and history." she smiled.
"As far as the history, there are legends that say we had magnificent looking... hounds.... that roamed the earth with human companions many years ago. They say these dogs are mystical creatures, coming from somewhere unknown." She smiled. "I guess you could say Aku is like that, he came from somewhere unknown and is attached to me in a way I can't explain."
She sighed, unsure of what he was going to ask next. She smiled regardless and waited for him to ask his next question. Their conversation was intriguing her probably more than it was him.

Tory felt bad that she had knocked the tall guy over but stood up quickly. She turned to look at the new girl and smiled at her. She smiled at the other two girls there too. Hoping no one cared that she had made a fool of herself with how she had tripped. Lasrial looked at her and nuzzled her hand. She grinned and pet her feeling better.
Lasrial looked up at her and pressed close. "Are you ok Tory? Any bruises or blood?"
Tory smiled and sighed not wanting the hound to worry about her. She thought back. "I'm fine Lasrial just a few new bruises. But my ego is bruised worse."
Lasrial barked out a laugh. "Nice there fire girl. I'm sure you will be fine."
Tory smiled back and turned to look at the other. She smiled as Amirela introduced herself and Aku. Another hound, huh that was very interesting. She smiled at the hound and Lasrial looked it over staying right next to Tory. She noticed what the guy had said. Something about it seemed off and rubbed her the wrong way. She didn't trust people and his questions just seemed too pointed and odd. She didn't know what to do or say. She decided to wait and watch. See what everyone did. She smiled as the girl spoke. That sounded like her story with Lasrial. And the hounds seemed to be the same thing. So she wasn't surprised by this.
She noticed when Aku turned his head and her and Lasrial looked there. She saw the man that was walking this way. Another hound with that guy. So many with the hounds here. She focused on the words all of these people spoke as she waited. It was informational what these two were talking about.

Just as the new arrivals are getting to know one another, something shifts in the festival. The music continues to play, and the dancers to dance but it becomes apparent, rather quickly, that some of the lanterns are being shuttered. The pale, warm, glow becomes dimmer, still, until the cool light of the moon seems to be all that is left.
After a few more moments, the dancer from earlier reappears. She wears red silks now, rather than the white from her dance, but her grace and beauty are unmistakable. Already a small group of part-goers have gathered around to speak to her. Most comment on her dance earlier, and some merely seem excited to be in her presence.
It may prove a little difficult to get close to her for long, but if you are patient you may get a chance to speak to her, if you wish it.
[[OOC Note: - The dancer is an NPC who will sometimes appear during the festival to interact with characters. - The FIRST person to respond to this prompt will get anywhere from 1 to 3 response posts in turn. - After that she will move on to someone else, and the next person after that to respond first will be able to interact with her and so on until she leaves the scene. - You may still post as if you're character is trying to get close, but she will ignore everyone except the first poster until the next 'round'. - On the other hand, you do not HAVE to interact with her if you do not wish.]]

Avlur listen to Amriela very carefully hoping to get actual info about the hounds they had in front of them. He kept nodding his head as she talked more and more. He heard her speak about coming to the Festival to learn more about their countries. It wasn't until she started speaking of the hounds he came here to find, that he truly became one hundred percent focus.
"So these hounds you speak of? Your suggesting that your hound right here is one of those very hounds?" Avlur spoke, knowing he was coming to the point where they would either speak what he wanted or turn against and stop responding. After these words he spoke his attention was quickly captured by the women who was dancing moments ago. She looked amazing, She looked like nothing he ever saw before.
"AVLUR! Stay focus, she's twice your age probably anyway." Assan spoke mentally to Avlur. Watching his owners head shake off the sight of the women.
"Good, Stay focused on this were so close then we can go home" Assan spoke.
Avlur shook his head and put his attention back to the group in front of him. Waiting for the next bit of information he would get from them.

Murphy nodded to the few that had waved to him, but didn't move. He wasn't sure he wanted to get involved with that large group, even though most of them had hounds. He could tell Kasar wanted to go talk to them, but he kept them in place for the time being. There was one other man there talking to the group of girls, and they seemed to be eyeing him oddly, so it was better to keep to himself for the time being.
A murmur ran through the crowd, and both Kasar and Murphy turned to see what it was. A woman appeared, and Murphy recognized her as the dancer that had finished her performance as he had come in. He observed her in silence as she approached, moving through the crowd without much difficulty, as if she were still dancing. Kasar, who was getting bored, pressed his head against Murphy's back and gave him a firm push in the woman's direction.
Go talk to her! If you're not going to talk to these people with Hounds, at least tell her she did a nice job. The Hound sounded as if he were talking to a child, and Murphy flushed as he stumbled forward into the path of the dancer. He cleared his throat and straightened up, murmuring a soft apology for getting in her way.
"You dance very well," he added after he got a hold on his flush. "I came in a bit late, but what I saw was very...moving." It had been the dance of the first Summoning and, while it seemed he wasn't the only one to have gone through that, it was still an amazingly rare occurrence.

Tory caught sight of that dancer again. She watched her eyes transfixed as the woman moved and swirled. She wished she could join in but Lasrial nipped her hand and she looked down. The hound gave her a look that said stay focused. She sighed and nodded not in the mood to make a fool of herself again. And something was up with this guy. He gave her that feeling of knowing more than he said. She grinned as he asked the girl a question. She tilted her head. "They do sound like those hounds. I believe Amriela might be right." She wanted to see how he would react to that. She saw that guy nod at them and saw the way he didn't seem to want to come over here. She refocused on the ones around her and the hounds. They were so very pretty and Lasrial gave her a look that seemed put off. Tory smiled and gave her a look that said none are as pretty as you. The hound relaxed and snuggled close.
Her eyes caught sight of the guy with the hound going over and talking to the dancer. She grinned and let part of her mind focus on that interaction as well as the guy and the girls she stood with. Lasrial watched and focused on all of this too.

"Umm.." She began. "I don't know if I would say that" She said, a frantic tone appearing in her voice. She was starting to get nervous but she felt something interesting about Avlur, she felt that he knew something more than he was letting on. She shook off that feeling and began again.
She contemplated what to say, she was at a loss for words. She looked at Aku and he slightly shrugged. He was just as much at a loss as her. She thought it over several times before coming up with what to say, she took a deep breath and gulped.
"I guess I would just say.." She cut off, examining the lanterns, they were flickering, the dancer from before was moving in an almost mesmerizing way. Aku was staring too, both were shifting their gaze beyond all the people to focus solely on the dancer. Their gazes transfixed, they smiled, peace showing on their face while they watched.

It's evident, in the clear moonlight without the smoke and dramatic lighting, that the woman is still rather young. No more than twenty-three, at most. Yet she moves with easy confidence that, even in this world, is not overly common of women.
Now and then she pauses to exchange a few words and, sometimes, a small but radiant smile. It's clear that she is very good at working the crowd, but there seems to be something more to her than that - though that could just be the magic of her performance still at play.
Then, as Murphy stumbles in front of her, she pauses, stepping back a little and regards him with cool grey eyes and the barest hint of a smile on an otherwise unreadable, if beautiful, face.
"Hello," her voice is surprisingly soft, given the boldness of her dance, but her gaze is intense.
"Ah, yes... The first Summoning. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's one of my favorites, although I only rarely get to perform it." She shrugs a little, as if brushing off the thought, and her gaze shifts from Murphy to Kasar nearby. She gazes at the hound for only a moment, tilting her head curiously, and then smiles a little at Murphy.
"I hope you enjoy the rest of the Festival," she curtsies, a slight, graceful movement, and then moves off again into the crowd.

Avlur was focused strictly on Amriela and what she was saying, from what it sound liked he got at least sixty percent of the info needed. He watched as Amriela turned over to look at the lady, He watched as the other girl turned her head to the dancer as well. Avlur decided to take a second glimpse as well. He watched as the man the group had been waving to walked right up the dancer and talked to her. He looked closely to see if he could read what they were speaking. To no amazement Avlur failed in doing so, he wasn't surprise at this fact.
"Assan did you hear what they were talking about?" Avlur asked Assan who was placed possibly a bit closer to the two.
"No go Av, to much noise around me to hear." Assan replied to him as quickly as he asked.
Avlur then began to watch the women return to the crowd of people. He stopped for a second and thought to himself. "Maybe I been asking the wrong people, Next time she appears I must try getting a word in." Avlur thought wonder what the group would do now that he isn't asking questions anymore. It was probably time for him to bounce out before it go to heated.

Amriela couldn't avert her eyes, the dance was beautiful, before she knew it, it was over. She let out a sigh of relief the trance that had placed on her mind during the performance was lifted.
She turned again to Avlur, he seemed to be in deep thought. "Avlur.." she hesitated, she wasn't sure if she was prepared to ask him the question that had been on her mind since he started the conversation.
What do you think Aku, should I ask? She asked her furry friend. He nodded, he knew how much it was itching at her mind all night. "Avlur," she began again, "I want you to answer me honestly, why are you so interested in my..." she paused. "In my dog?"
