The flower can't get past gloves. That was a relief. At least this wasn't going to be like risking severe radiation poisoning. Still, the collapsing of the soldier into dust was utterly surreal. It reminded him that the man had died centuries ago. On another planet.Celemorrow followed Avior into the palace. Cooro Cooro Celemorrow would be confused and upset about Avior not being able to access his planet any more. It might cause some doubting of the DMC.

A cloud of dust formed as the they stepped through the doorway into what seemed like a giant hallway. There was no one there, surprisingly, instead, each door leading out seemed to be boarded up.
"And this is where I need your help.. The people in the palace were the last ones to feel the effects of what happened.. They did what they could to keep the air clean of spores or whatever it was that spread so quickly. In the basement of this place, where this planet's history is recorded, there were the last survivors, who starved to death, trapped down their.. But yes, I need you to open these doors for me. You see a body like that poor soldier, you just pull the flower like I did. If.. If um.. If you have any problems, if you start to get upset or something, I dunno.. We don't have to do this.. It's not your responsibility, not at all.. "
Verithe Oh geesh.. That would be terrible.. Especially since Avior took alot of what Celemorrow said to heart. If the one who tempted him started doubting themselves, Avior would lose his way too...

"No, I want to do this." Celemorrow walked over to the first door and inspected it before trying to pull at the boards. The wood was old. Centuries old. And the boost in strength he had as a senshi didn't hurt either. Still, he wasn't sure if the boards would give with just his strength alone. "Too bad we didn't bring a crowbar." He gripped a board and gave a sharp tug. Cooro Cooro Then again, Celemorrow might just blame the cats for only giving magical cell phones to the White Moon senshi. We'll see!

Such ambition.. And such kindness.. Avior didn't know whether he should continue to sing praises to the other Dark Mirror, or if he should just start crying from being unable to find a way to ever thank him. Instead, he watched as the boards snapped easily from it's age. With a deep breathe, Avior reached out, pulling the first door open.
Bodies, dozens of bodies all pressed up against the doorway, positioned as if they were clawing at the once-closed door. They were angry, and despite, and terrified. Their faces shown that they KNEW that whatever it was that was coming was close, and that they were locked out from the heart of the palace. From old grannies, to a woman holding a bundle, and two little girls gripping at what once was her skirt.. Each one had a flower coming from the back of their necks in a multitude of colors.. Even the little girls.. Even the infant that was held so tightly in the woman's arms before them, though the flower seemed little larger than a butter cup..
And Avior froze. He couldn't react, no tears nor screaming. Just frozen in place as the sounds of the screaming and banging and cries filled his ears in a flash of memories that all but took his breath away. And finally all fell silent again, and eyes nearly overlying with tears turned upwards to Celemorrow.
"You can't hear it.. You can't see it.. They screamed and begged to be let in, they tried so hard, but there was no hope left for them.. I just.. I don't know if I can do this.. I'm not strong enough, I'm not ready, I'm not ready to deal with this."

Celemorrow glanced to Avior and then back to the horrible scene. He could not see the visions his host was seeing, but seeing those faces he could imagine what was happening. "If they were boarded in, they must have already been infected. You or whoever you were had no choice but to keep them out." He reached out and yanked a flower from an elderly woman whose face had been frozen in horror for all these years, allowing her to crumble and finally be at peace. "If you like, I can clear this hall of the..." He needed a word that would soften the horror of the situation. "...revenants." It wasn't the right word, but it seemed to fit. "You can sit down, have a drink of water and come in after everything is clear. Maybe you'll be able to see happier visions after we put these people to rest."

"I was dead. I was long since dead. I died before this even happened.." There was so much to the ending of Avior that it was hard to give it all at once. But the Monoliths in the dark bottom of the palace told it all, and even if he couldn't complete the task that he had set out to do, he could atleast managed to get his partner down there. He knew that path, and knew that it was clear of these figures.
Avior nodded in agreement for Celemorrow to clear the hall, he instead rounded the corner back out of that hall, and sat in one of the chairs that lined the way they came in. Attempting to clear his mind of all of the screaming that resonated about his skull, his mind went blank for a moment, instead focusing on the shuffling of Celemorrow's feet, and his own shallow breathing. Those were the sounds of life, lives that he knew and could work to protect. Although the past Avior had not managed to save this world, this new Avior, this one that existed today, who was born on Earth, HAD that opportunity. And that thought, that knowledge brought a little peace to his rampaging mind while his companion took care of those forgotten souls.
"Their struggle.. The idea that that had happened.. For some reason, it never even crossed my mind. Outside of the palace, they were overtaken before they realized what was happening.. All of the others were frozen in place doing day to day activities. Never once had I seen something like this.. Now the question lies, did the palace abandon their people..?" He took the advice offered to him, and rummaged through his bag with his good arm for a bottle of water, and took a long swig of it, along with another deep breath.
"In the basement of this place, there are these.. Giant stone slabs, with images etched into them. Hieroglyphs, perhaps..? And I am.. I am fairly certain that whoever was the last Avior was killed before the seeds were spread.. I don't know, I just don't understand.. And what if it's like this behind every boarded up door? What if each time it opens, I'm faced with the sounds and images of these people dying? I am NOT strong. I am NOT prepared for something like that. And this is still my task, so I cannot just.. Let you take care of it all. Maybe we should stop.. Maybe we should just go back home for now.."

Once the initial shock of the experiences had worn off, it wasn't too hard for Celemorrow to shut his emotions off entirely and focus entirely on the job of removing the flowers. Doing and feeling were not actions he typically performed simultaneously. What he was doing was a right and good thing to do and that was all he needed to know.
Once Avior was out of sight, he fished the blossoms from the mother and children. After taking care of the people behind the first door, he went on to pull the boards off the next. He continued like this for some time, finding the most difficult and time-consuming part to be just getting into the rooms.
"I do not mind doing this, Sailor Avior."
He crushed an azure blossom beneath his heel, not exactly fond of the idea of putting off something he could do now.
"Is there anywhere you've been that hasn't resulted in painful visions?"

"You don't.. How could you not? I guess may it just feels like breaking things to you.. " It was not meant to sound bitter, but how did those he met all seem to act the same. There was a methodology they followed, a way to separate duty from emotions that the ones he encountered seem to have that Avior just couldn't grasp. He longed for that ability, to not focus on what had been, and just on the now.
Finally breaking away from his self pitying, he stood up and slowly made way over to Cellemorrow, gently taking the edge of his flowing sleeve between his gloved fingers. To have grabbed his hand might have been pushing it too much, he thought, and Celemorrow was already doing enough for him as it was. Dammit, he hated feeling so weak like this, and yet that's all he was. Weak. Defenseless. Breakable. And STILL dependent to others..
"There is a place, it's down, under ground.. I was going to take you there anyway. There's a stair case that the staff used, nearby. I'll show you.. It's like.. Think of those Egyptian Walls, with artwork that tells stories. It's a peaceful place, despite the surroundings.."

"I have the advantage of not having visions while I work." Celemorrow patted the dust off of his uniform. It would have been a bad thing if he somehow transported the flower's spores back to Earth and he didn't want to take any chances. "Even if you think of clearing out the flowers and their victims as a way of putting their spirits to rest, reliving the destruction of your planet can't possibly make things easy." He looked over to the senshi of Avior when he felt a tug on his sleeve. "Did you want to go down there before we burn these?" He kicked one of the flowers with his toe to indicate.

"We can do that after.. As the last thing we do. " Instead of giving Celemorrow a moment to say anything else, he tugged him along the walk way, focusing on that door way only. As soon as they stepped through the darkened back staircase, he closed the door behind them with one hand, and felt the darkness envelope them both.
And did it feel amazing. For just a moment, they were left in utter darkness, with not even a shard of light filtering through under the door. Then, those familiar, small stones embedded in the walls began to glow in the warm light that he had remembered from his first visit. Finally, Avior found his strength back. letting go of Celemorrow's sleeve. He couldn't just keep clinging to the other Senshi; he honestly believed that the more he tried to stay close to the other, the more it was likely that he would start pushing him away. No one likes an overly clingly person, right?
"Amazingly, it's just straight down from here. The old staff of the house used these staircases to go unseen in this palace.. I don't know why they kept it so dark in there, but once that door clothes, it's just.. Beautiful. And calming. Watch your step though.. I tried to clear up the path on my first trip here, but my vision is hardly the best in the light.. In darkness, even worse.."
Verithe Naaaw, don't feel to bad for him. He'll find his place soon enough with the DMC. XD BTW, this just crossed my mind, but did you know Celemorrow has a little fan club? With Aludra and Avior?

Celemorrow ran a gloved hand over one of the glowing stones as he followed Avior down the stairs. They fascinated him. He wondered if there was electricity powering them, if there was an electric generator still running somewhere on this dead planet. The fact that they turned on like....like.... "...like the opposite of a refrigerator. The lights, they turn on when you close the door. Was there a switch in the door?" Following Avior's advice, Celemorrow stepped carefully. Cooro Cooro Hahaha! Celemorrow must never know! Also, Chibi Cruithne may or may not want to join.

"No switches. Just the natural properties of the stones in the walls. I can't explain it, but it's something that naturally occurs here I think. When it's dark, it creates it's own light. That's as far as I know." Avior honestly was not the scientific expert about all things.. Well, Avior. To him, even if his past self was here, he could not give any definite reason as to why some things glowed and other did not. He could not tell someone why rocks that seemed so ordinary could provide enough light to safely guide someone down into the depths of the castle as these ones did.
"If you could pry them out of the wall, you're more than welcome to take one as a souvenir of this godforsaken place. It just a stone set in rock. No structural damage or anything will take place. When I first came, there were a bun ch that had fallen out of the wall. I had collected them, but I left with my mind in such disarray after seeing what this place was like, that I have no idea where I might have put them." It wasn't too incredibly long before they found themselves before the same enormous, red obsidian doors that he had encountered on his first trip to his planet. And they remained open as well, for when he left, he had gone so in such a daze that he had not bothered to put anything back in it's proper place. Upon entering the archives, they were greeted with the giant black onyx Slab that seemed to etch out endless important places in Avior's time in great artistic detail.
"Here it is.. The history of Avior.. All drawn out. I'm beginning to think that this.. Whatever culture once existed here did not know how to read. But that's an advantage.. If it weren't for these, and for my brief memories, I would have never understood what happened to this poor planet.."
Verithe She's more than welcomed! XD I'll have to hit her up for an RP at some point then!

"Huh." The thought of taking one of the stones back to Earth was tempting, but the stones were still serving a function. A function which may become more important if they could ever manage to make this planet habitable again. Celemorrow decided to silently pass up on the offer unless they happened to stumble upon the stones Avior had previously collected. The room of Avior history took his breath away. "This is an impressive place, Sailor Avior." He began inspecting the closest wall to him.

"Thank you. I imagine that this place ended up commissioning the greatest artists that the planet had to offer, and the end result was this beautiful piece of history. The further into the room you go, the close we get to the most recent history that was recorded.. It was where I found out that it was a Senshi in White that had done this to my poor planet."
His soft voice echoed in the massive room, bouncing off the walls like someone had pulled a rubberband taunt, then released it. Hearing his own voice seemed to calm the frazzled Senshi further, and now he approached Celemorrow again, looking at the picture of an enormous whale against what seemed to be the walls of Avior.
"I think this may have been far before this place was destroyed. Maybe it's even this planets far ancient history, considering how close it was to the door."

Wishing he had brought a camera, if not his sketchbook, Celemorrow wandered deeper into the room, scanning the walls of history. "Where is the senshi depicted?" He knew it was further back, but he needed it pointed out. "Have you been able to decipher any of the other parts of the history or just the parts you remember?"
