Did that boil's eyes just change color? Merry stared at him, leaning forward even as he reached out to touch the feathers one one of her wings. She didn't mind, he could touch. She liked the attention. "You're eyes!" She gushed, palms coming to rest on petrified knees. She was practically off her seat in her desire to get as close a look at the lovely color shift as she possibly could. She didn't mean to ignore Anna, Merry was just easily distracted. She did glance down at the sound of falling snacks, fluffed ears slipping forward acutely before she tilted her head and flicked slit pupils up to the behemoth ghoul. "Kneelins?" What the jack? Full lips pursed. "What's a kneelin?" The jewel came up at eye level, and she made and awed sort of sound, leaning even further on the colossus' lap until she was practically draped across it. "Annie, these are really pretty. You made these?' She took it, rolling it in her fingers, then leveled a serious look at the other girl. "I can keep it?"

Anna's chest puffed a little with pride.
"Ah yes I made them! It's to help with all those little creatures that go bump in the night for us. Ruining all our nice things." She didn't comment the change in Trudy's eyes like Merry did, too focused on her weird little creatures.
Her ears perked up a little at the nickname.
"Kneelin's are little creatures that take out your knee's and use them for food. It can be quite painful, you know they are attacking when you have some sort of knee pain or if you fall or something. They like taller creatures." Anna nodded sagely.
"I have lots more! Well I do at home, I only brought a couple for Avery cause he's always attracting the creatures." She nodded again. "Please do! I hope it keeps you safe for a long time."
Her gaze lifted to the big monster. "You can keep yours too. You'll attract most of them so I hope it helps!" She fluffed a bit.

Trudy slowly looked to Merry, eyes shifting to yellow as she took over his lap as he took in the physical contact. It wasn't unpleasant, but that didn't change the fact he wasn't sure what to think of it.
At minimum, he kept rumbling, pausing to look at Anna as she spoke of the Kneelins further, the yellow shifting to an ominous red - knowing. Kneelins aren't what he'd call those awful things, but the point was clear as he slowly put the charm he'd been given around his neck.
Then he slowly reached out to pat Anna in a gesture of 'thank you'. Since it was hard to express it without words.

"Oh my Jack, Annie! Thank you!" Merry squealed, trilling gleefully as she slipped the charm over her horns and around her neck. "So pretty." She tipped her head back, watching the big guy she was currently slouched over, and the shifting shade of his eyes had her ears twitching forward. "That is such a neat trick, I wish my eyes could do that.." She sounded sincerely disappointed that they didn't. Then Anna's explanation of Kneelin's sank in, and she was staring at the smaller ghoul. "But I need my knees," she insisted promptly, as if that would have made a difference if there were little things that invaded knees and ate them. She wrapped a hand around the charm around her neck, squeezing it. Brightly colored feathers ruffled in apparent distress.

Anna's ears and the obvious warm feeling exuded from her was the only inclination that she was VERY HAPPY that others saw the charms importance like her. Her stare was continuously vacant.
"Everyone needs their knee's!" Anna said importantly, "Which is why I came up with the charms. They are made of a rare ice crystal that wards them away. For some reason, all the creatures I meet are not very fond of the cold." She nodded.
The pat on the head was received even better, and there might've been a small flush on her cheeks because she didn't often get patted on the head over it.
Usually she got bullied or made fun of.
"ah....Are you guys visiting family here too?" She was curious now!

Not many were big enough to get their knees assaulted. Not that Trudy had ever gotten his knees assaulted, but the thought was there. They'd all been told the stories growing up, after all. He reached out to touch his eyes - actual physical contact with the flat surfaces as they shifted back to yellow. What were his eyes doing?????????????

The question about family had Trudy looking out at the field again, rumbling as he nodded out towards it as if to say that one there. It would probably not take much time to find the student who stood taller than her classmates in his colors. (Sura actually looked towards the stands, as if she could tell someone was looking out at her)

 Welcome! Welcome! Five dorms! Five challenges! For each event, the winning house recieves 50 points! Second place gets 40 and so on, until the loser in last place gets a sad, scant 10 points, because you tried.
Coming up is the first event, the Awful Obstacle Race! So grab on tight to a butt, because this is gonna be one bumpy ride!

A turn of her head let merry see the confusion on Trudy's face, and she she tipped her chin to one side curiously. "Your eyes are changing color." She shifted until she was sitting cross-legged on his knees, tail flicking idly around his feet. "You don't talk much, huh?" A thoughtful frown flickered across exotic features, then she was glance to Annie, humming in response to her question. "No. I don't have any family here. I live in the towns at the moment with a guardian until I can get enrolled." She grinned suddenly. "I've got some friends here though, so I'll be cheering them on." The rumbling noise pulled her attention back to the large boil, and she blinked up at him before glancing back at the screen as he nodded towards it. "Oh! You'r sister, right? She's really tall, too."

Late as usual. Darcious made some avid effort to be prompt but he found days like this hard to wake up on and had not traveled from his nest until it was almost too late. The pinging of the announcement off his cropped ears made his relieved: he hadn't missed an event yet.
Usually, the Weichon Fly was a nine-foot long beast with a serpentine furred body and six legs: four paws in the front and two bird feet at the hind. He had the face of a feral dog with long whip-like ears and a mane of brilliant red hair. Four dragonfly wings had allowed him to travel swiftly to the events.
He disliked this human shape but had to admit that it didn't hurt. The only part that pestered him was that he could feel his other arms beneath his skin, ghosting and trying to move but non-existant in this shape. He approached the bleachers with a soft squelch in his step, giving a low growl at those talking, and turned his attention to the obstacle course, his tail making patterns behind him.

Aaaaaaaaand they're off! Lookit 'em go rabies and germs, all skittering and scatting OUCH THAT HAS TO HURT! This brings me back to my students days when oh! Favourite to win, Shun Kuroda is neck and neck with dark horse, Mellow Marsh! Will the hob prove the superiority of experience? Not if that swimming has anything to do with it, because what we're seeing is a tragedy and OH! They BOTH got passed by a ghost girl, who is that ghost ghoul?!

Oh it looks like officials have come to take Anna Walpurgis away to test for doping and illegal contracts. This may take a bit.
The judges are discussing dorm scores, and one is just rushing here and there, writing and yelling.
Oh...oh, it looks like he's disqualified a few students on technicalities. Jack, you can never rely on the rushing judge for a good score, that's for sure.

WELL IT TOOK AWHILE BUT THE RESULTS ARE IN FOLKS! IT WAS CLOSE BUT IN FIRST PLACE WE HAVE THE GHOST DORM WITH A SCORE OF 32.4 !
In second place, the Undead Dorm with 31.9!
It's a good day to be dead, isn't that right folks?
Coming up in third, we have the Monster Dorm with 30.4!
In fourth, the Reaper Dorm managed a 29.8!
In in last place, and this HAS to hurt, the Demon Dorm finished with a score of 28!
