The blow to his shins staggered him, but only for a moment, he stood up right again bringing Sylvia across in a wide arch aimed at the hunters mid section, aiming low left a wide open for Sylvia to lash out at full range cleaving at the shield.
Roland was panting however, he could feel his shield giving way second by second.HP: 20 DMG: 5

The hit was good, rather solid, and Sherry's body instinctively flinched and began to double over in a vain attempt to protect her middle. The tell-tale feeling of shield weakening came with the blow. Armagnac crooned in her head, pleased they were having a decent fight. Sherry backed away two steps and straightened, then moved to the side and in again. She wanted to be closer for this swing, she wanted to keep control of it. The swing came from the side, her own attack aimed for the waistline. HP: 29/50 Damage: 7

It was no use fighting at a distance, both weapons had reach, too much reach even. It was time to change the rules. Sherry moved forward her weapon wide and level with his waist. A twist snapped the weapon in hand in half, Sylvia split into staff and short handled scythe connected by chain.
The short shaft lashed out catching the blow at his waist rolling it up and along his arm leaving the female hunter open as he darted in the shorter scythe closing in the distance between them in a vicious hook that at one point had been used to sever the head of a mind flayer.
<< I do hope you don't try that outside of this controlled test, I don't think they like hunters chopping other hunters heads off... >> Sylvia almost seemed amused with her thoughts on the matter with the way it ended with a giggle.HP: 13 DMG: 10

She hadn't quite expected him counter the way he did, and suddenly the space between them was gone and she felt another very solid hit connect. This was one of those times she was glad to have a fear shield, and she was even happier about the neat little device they'd been given. She would have told him it was a nice hit, but she was pretty sure her flinch was a decent indication. In retaliation, she hit him as squarely as she could with the staff of her glaive. She needed more distance again. HP: 19/50 Damage: 7

Roland wasn't sure why, but the closer things came, the more desperate, the more wild, the more deadly his strikes became. He could see her flinch, see her retreating back, she didn't need to say it was good hit. He knew it was a good hit. Sylvia purred at the blood lust even as they where struck again, they would live. It was the one time she could enjoy seeing Roland so worked up.
The glaive struck and shoved him back but he carried the momentum moving towards the car, a foot planted and kicked off the rusted side bringing him up high and around as Sylvia snapped together, he completed a whole rotation before bringing the weapon crashing down on her.DMG: 12 HP: 6

He was quick. Quick and strong, and she knew as the scythe was coming down that it was going to hurt. She felt it tear into her shield, felt the force of it pushing down. She followed it down; rolling with the punches was sometimes the easiest way to handle them. So down she went, and she rolled to the side, away from the weapon her opponent wielded. Roland's attack had come from above, and Sherry's would come from below. Her roll stopped with her feet underneath her, and she pushed up, taking momentum from roll and combining it with the strength of her legs. Up with Sherry came the weapon, blade moving upward with as much force as Sherry could put behind it. HP: 7/50 Damage: 13

It was too late to stop what was happening next. he could see the blow coming as the glaive came rolling up, Sherry following through as he finished his own landing his blow done and landed. He brought Sylvia up, holding her across the width of his body only to have the blow crush into her and himself sending him flying back smashing into the nearly wasted car, another new dent and crush added to it where Roland fell limp stuck in the side of the vehicle in the body sized dent.

Sherry had been doing absolutely amazing with her past matches, and though Jake would never say this out loud, he had been glad she was paired with other girls who fought decently and fair, so when saw who she her last match would be, coupled with his entrance (seriously, did he just throw a rock at her?), he bristled, fists clenched tightly as he hoped Sherry would win.
As the fight got more intense and blows more violent, Jake had to resist throwing insults at Roland. Fighting was one thing, but the bloodlust was almost palpable. Was that jackass TRYING to kill her? And so he let out an audible sigh of relief when Sherry struck a finishing blow, knocking the hunter unconscious.
He didn't even wait as he strode across the field, grabbing Sherry's wrist as he began tugging her. "Good job, now let's go." The p***k could go rot there for all he cared.Miliardo Kason Don't mind Jake. Good match! <33333333

Sherry let the her momentum take the swing to it's full course, even after Roland had been pushed back. There was a heartbeat where she watched him warily, wondering what his counter would be, but his body went slack against the car. She was still for another few heartbeats, watching him and letting herself breathe, then she relaxed. "Roland? You okay?" It might have been silly to ask, but she had to ask something. She wasn't even sure if he was still conscious. One hand still holding Armagnac, she moved closer to the car. Armagnac was purring and Sherry was starting to fret. Her other matches hadn't ended like this. "Roland?" she asked again and-- felt a hand on her wrist. "Thanks, but, um. I have to make sure he's alright." Her feet were firmly planted on the ground.

His eyes where closed, someone else was moving near by but he wasn't horribly concerned, the match was over and his whole body was aching in pain. The shield was gone, or at least to the point it felt gone. Was there a difference?
Finally the sensation of someone holding his wrist got his attention and his eyes slide open, and he gave Sherry a dazed sort of look and a nod.
"Car's not okay though." He mumbled as he slid free of the dent they had added to it. He looked at Jake for a moment, "Hey." It wasn't a very good hello, but Roland wasn't feeling much for effort right now.

Her sigh of relief was audible. "I don't think the car was ok to begin with. But good," she said eying him carefully. A gust of wind reminded her about the storm and she looked up. "I think, we should head in. An evening of rest is in order."
