Putting the finishing touches on the booth's setup, Rhys stands back to admire his handiwork. It was beautiful. Maybe not as festive as some of the other businesses and booths, since they WERE a charity first and foremost, but it was certainly presentable.
Too bad Orion had to look so grumpy all the time. He was gonna scare away customers with that old-man face.

I am Racer 1 with Bitey the Mawbbit!
Following the failure of the demons in Tug-O-War, West had stomped off angrily, intending to return to his dorm's booth and burn it to the ground... or maybe just throw some things around. He had entered into this competition ambivalent at best, but as his dorm had sunk lower and lower in the rankings, the boil had contemplated cutting ties with his race altogether based on their shitty performance. What a useless bunch of gas bags! Surely he would be better suited as a member of the unflappable ranks of the undead or the tenacious monster pack. Screw demons. Screw demons! SCREW DEMONS!
"Screw demons," he muttered, stopping short and forcing his hands out of their tense fists. He looked to his left, attracted by a flicker of violent pink. Three flickers, actually. Four, if you counted the hazmutt. The one that had caught his eye in particular was riddled with teeth as well. It was still a minipet and minipets were gagworthy, but West approached the booth nonetheless, pointing at the animal with a frown.
Fly Line Speed:
Whether Bitey had picked up on the boil's perpetual mental state or whether he was just like that on his own, the mawbitt was itching to race before it even began. He left the starting gate late, but quickly made up time by staying true to his name and biting all the fly lines to bits on his way past.
Pond Speed:
The pond was no trouble either. Bitey's stubby legs were almost a blur in the water as he paddled his way closer to victory.
Hurdles Speed:
When he reached the hurdles, Bitey hesitated for the briefest of moments. How was he going to... OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
The mawbitt wasted no time. He skittered through the remains of the hurdles and across the finish line in record time, his toothy mouth agape in a smile.

I am Racer #2 with Wulf the Canis Major!
Eachann looked over the available racers and smiled as a rather spiny brown Canis Major caught his eye. He had an odd blue glow around his feet that Eachann found absolutely fascinating.
Fly Line Speed:
Wulf did decently in the flylines, getting tangled for a moment but quickly righting himself... only to get tangled in once again. It was a slight struggle but he managed to make it through.
Pond Speed:
Wulf tore through the water, unfazed by the fact that his paws had little area to actually push against the water.
Hurdles Speed:
Wulf leapt carelessly over the hurdles, his half-bone legs not having an issue taking to the air.

I am Racer #3 with London the Hazmutt!
A minipet race? Okay, Elium could give that a shot. The little hazmutt seemed to be a decent choice, but there was no way that he would admit that he was biased--masks, though.
Fly Line Speed:
The hazmutt seemed to have pretty terrible luck in the flylines, getting hopelessly tangled for more than a few seconds.
Pond Speed:
It took a few minutes for Elium to spot London finally surfacing from the pond, and he blinked at the minipet, utterly confused as to what it could have been doing down there.
Hurdles Speed:
Oh, no. Instead of jumping the hurdles, his chosen racer seemed entirely content to meander around them, actually going backwards a few times instead of in the proper direction.

I am Racer #4 with Lexus the Scareon!
Kari was intrigued at the new booth that had opened up. "Racing huh?" she murmured, glancing at the contestants. Her gaze settled on an energetic scareon.
Fly Line Speed:
Lexus burst out from the starting line at blinding speed ducking and weaving through the fly lines like it was born for the task.
Pond Speed:
The scareon hit the pond running, and it was easy to see that swimming wasn't his strong suit. Slowly but surely, he made his way across.
Hurdles Speed:
Lexus didn't take to the hurdles well, either. More than a couple times, he fumbled a jump and crashed into the ground.

I am Racer #5 with Hugs the Berror!
Mayaa cuddled the little Berror, because its name was Hugs. IT DESERVED LOTS OF HUGS. Also because she just liked hugs in general.
Fly Line Speed:
Nudging the little berror on, she watched as it stumbled on forward, but didn't far as it got tangled up in the fly lines. Oh well, that was ok! She gave it another hug and encouraged it to go on.
Pond Speed:
Apparently her little lovely was a natural born swimmer. Who knew? She cheered it on as it swam as agile as a goldfish.
Hurdles Speed:
Still clapping and cheering the little berror on, it stumbled a bit, but managed to get through at least half of the hurdles, and she rewarded it with a great big hug.

Rhys clapped his hands happily as the little minipets ran the course. Look at them, doing so well... Except London. "Come on London, get your head in the game," he crooned at the hazmutt as he placed it back in the pen with the other minipets. Then he gave all the participants big smiles and thanks, lots and lots of big smiles and thanks, and pressed a fluffy little wisp into the hand of the silent, frowning demon. The boil must have secretly liked minipets quite a lot! "Congratulations on Bitey's win!"

I am Racer #1 with Lexus the Scareon!
Sin walked over and grinned at the minipets, she felt a pang of guilt for how many she kept closeted but really with Pantaloons and Ladyluv around it wasn't safe for other mini's in her room. She picked out a young looking scareon and set it to the race, it was a lovely rust color with dark paws and perky ears. It looked a little tired but maybe the race would perk it up!
Fly Line Speed: 2
Sin cheered the little scareon on as it stumbled sleepily through the fly lines, it wasn't exactly perking up, but she held out hope for it.
Pond Speed: 4
The pond certainly seemed to wake it up, it's speed doubled and now it was really moving!
Hurdles Speed: 1
Except that the poor little thing got to the hurdles and seemed to freeze up. Sin shouted encouragements and it very slowly worked up the courage to make it over.

Deciding to try out another mini, Kari's gaze fell upon one that hadn't gotten a chance to perform last round. "I'll choose you", she said to the bright foxfire.
Fly Line Speed:
Floof got a nice head start, but got a bit tangles up in the lines before untangling themselves.
Pond Speed:
Little legs made it hard to swim, but the foxfire tried its best.
Hurdles Speed:
Little legs also made it hard to jump, with the foxfire only making it over half the hurdles

I am Racer #3 with April the Firepaca!
Heading over to a booth he hadn't noticed before he raised a brow. He was pretty sure making the pets race was a form of exploitation but it was helping a local business right?
Shrugging he looked over the pets before picking out a rather pink and overly fluffy firepaca. She was cute and seemed eager to please.
Fly Line Speed:
April did wonderful in the lines. No tangles as she danced her way though everything ... even managing to not muss her fluff.
Pond Speed:
Never would have guessed something that puffy could swim huh? Aprill breezed though the pond like it was nothing.
Hurdles Speed:
Hurdles seemed to be a different story though and she tripped up at first before dancing her way though the rest.

I am Racer #4 with London the Hazmutt!
Minipet racing! She never would have expected such a booth their, not because she thought terrible of racing minipets, just it was such a fun and cute little booth. Looking over the racers it wasn't hard for which one she wanted, the hazmutt was the closes minipet to a cat not to mention it had the cutest black ears ever.
Fly Line Speed:
Poor London was a little slow at the start, she had been a little more occupied with cleaning her paw than running but after some of the other racers had left she realized she had to run too.
Pond Speed:
Reaching the pond London made it across with ease as if she was built for swimming.
Hurdles Speed:
Despite making it over the first hurdle London had a little more issues in jumping some of the others. She had unfortunately even knocked one over while she tried to climb up it.

I am Racer #(5) with (Wulf the Canis Major)!
Lyca wandered closer to the booth that stated it was for racing. Looking over at the over contestants curiously she noted a lone minipet off at the side. According to the sign, its name was "Wulf". "Aww, hello there little fella." She cooed at such a wonderful colour he was and hey canine--how couldn't love that! Apparently according to the sign Wulf was a real go getter! "I'll choose you then!"
Fly Line Speed:
"Well," Lyca winced as Wulf tripped over himself and nearly landed on top of another contestant. "Watch ou-okay its okay! SHAKE IT OFF~ GO WULF!" Lyca encouraged to boost moral. Apparently, in the end it hadn't worked. Which is okay there was still two more events to make up for~
Pond Speed:
"DOG PADDLE! PADDLE!!!" Lycania boomed cheerfully. Wulf was doing much better then the last game so yay but from the looks of things... "Keep your head up Wulf!! ...Oh no! MEDIC!!" Apparently Wulf had gotten a cramp in the end and therefore came in 7th place.
Hurdles Speed:
That sign had been a liar, Lyca frowned off into the distance. Wulf certainly was a go-getter. A go-getter for cuddles and that was it. Hurdles had been the final event and when the gun had gone off to start the race Wulf had yelped and ran. In the wrong direction. Poor guy had been startled so bad that he nearly peed all over the ground at the starting line.

Lyca bent down to pet Wulf, "Nice try buddy and guess what!" She beamed down while cooing. "I learned a lesson, don't take signs at face value. You sure are cute though! I could cuddle you all day~"
