There was a look from Stormy to Gale, then Gale to Stormy. Back to gale- A sly smile cracked over Marcus's face. Oh, oh boy. "Looks like Dis isn't the only one with a 'thing' going on." Dis, who was practically begging to be let out to 'talk' to the dragon. And making jokes about Gale polishing said dragon and Dis would always go there. "Does having her nearby raise the stakes a little bit?" Marcus asked, swinging the scimitar to hook and get the scope to become misaligned. HP: 41 DMG: 5

He saw Candace out of the corner of his eye, leaning over Stormy's shoulders. Gale turned his attention back to the matter at hand, which happened to be Marcus, who was currently Public Enemy #1. He darted sideways to try and avoid the blade, but it still raked his side unpleasantly.
"No, it just means I have to win, so I can look good," he said breezily, and then leapt back far enough to lift the rifle, firing off a shot in the direction of Marcus' leg.

Marcus had taken an arrow to the knee a long time ago, and now a gunshot? Well, it wasn't the worst. But it still hurt like a b***h and a half. Hissing in sudden pain, Marcus cracked out a slightly pained laugh. "That means I can't go easy, you know that right?" A slash, the moon was trying to move in, get too close to fire... or too tight to risk a direct move. HP: 33 DMG: 4

Spectating
She froze when arms encircled her, tensing until she recognized the purple gleam. With a burst of guilt Stormy relaxed, lightly patting one of Candace's hands apologetically as she let her shoulders relax. It was weird, in a way, to hear Gale being called a man, just as she would find it weird to hear someone call her a woman . . . But Gale had earned that right, no? She wondered if she could ever do the same.
Lips pressed into a line, she nodded to answer both Candace's and Fini's questions, her eyes not leaving the battle. She'd cracked during her own battle and did not risk opening her mouth in case that somehow brought it back. Don't be a distraction. Be a listener. Be a supporter. That was what she was good for anyway. The ladies could talk, and she could listen, and she could watch and be witness--although her silence was probably not a great first impression to the sun hunter.

"Kick his a**, Gale!" A cheer could be heard from a tall Life division member. He gave the short English boy a smile, threw Marcus a haughty sneer, and crossed his arms as he watched the showdown.
No hard feelings to Marcus, of course. Well... lots of hard feelings, actually.

Gale stumbled a few steps to the side and rolled his eyes.
"Like you ever went easy on me before," he snorted. "How many spars have we had before this one? I've lost count at how many times I've lost to you, git, so don't give me that rubbish about 'going easy on me.'"
He heard Lex's voice, but Gale was already darting back to fire several more shots at Marcus.

Lex would later get a stern talking to about polite manners while watching spars. Until then, Marcus would try and hold out from Gale's gun shots, hitting back with his own blows. "I tried once." He did. "Then I accidentally used a FEAR attack." Accidentally. ".......In my defense we were young and new to the whole fighting thing." HP: 23 DMG:

Gale just stared at him.
"Yes, well," he said, and smiled. "Now that we've become accustomed to the whole 'getting our arses kicked' thing - let me give you a little repayment for all of the lessons you gave me on fighting properly."
And, as if to accompany his thanks, Gale shot Marcus in the side.

Blown away, Marcus let out a deep groan as he felt the pain settle in. Gale was really going all out, and it was pretty refreshing to face him and feel this sort of challenge. Gale had always been a guy the moon respected, win or loose, but the blows were coming like they were from a sun. That said something about the young man's growth didn't it? "I don't think that is wholly needed." He grunted, stabbing directing into the gun. "Dis thinks that maybe you just have found a reason you need to win. Can't say I disagree." HP: 10 DMG: 15

Jinahi was making amused sounding noises inside of his head. Marcus was quick to move, as was the sword, and Gale regretted getting a little too close, since the next second he was staggering backwards, wheezing in pain. Still, Gale grinned up at Marcus, swinging the rifle around again at him.
"My reason to win is just to finally beat you," he said, but that wasn't entirely true, and they both knew it.

He was smiling now. Gale lifted a hand, putting a finger to his lips.
"My reason to live is a secret," he said with a grin, and fired off one last shot he knew would hit its mark(us).

Gale hit Marcus right in the heart. Actually, no, serious, he got him right in the chest. Coughing and going down, Marcus was sunken to a knee, looking up for one at the death hunter. "Sounds like you've found something to drive you forward." Getting up, he offered the blonde a handshake. "Or maybe, someone?"

She glanced back at Stormy, giving her a curious look and pursed her lips. It made her unsure of what to think of the girl with her sudden silence. But she intended to find a better day that the two of them could properly meet.
Annnd whoops! Looked like Gale had just won his match. It was time for her to scram before he came after her!
"Good job, Gale!" She cheered, and then excused herself quickly from the other spectators. Ol-j-man Ahahah, Fini will come find you later, Stormy |D
