To be disconnected from Yggdrasil means to be swallowed by void. Nothing would survive. Thankfully, this is not a common occurrence." And, indeed, he was certain quite a few worlds met that very fate as Genhenna raged on.
"The Underworld is settled along it's roots, actually." Good thing Alva had asked that question - this was quite relevant for his sister to know. "It is one of the most direct paths to the Underworld... though surviving the journey itself would be a challenge, and the path is long even for gods. It takes months to make it."

"Oh, I think we have a legend a little like that." Alva replied, as a legend she could just about grasp the thought but to know such a thing existed was completely mind blowing. Her curiosity was awakened, she liked an adventure and what could be more adventurous than a tree that could take you anywhere.
"Can we see it?" She asked, forgetting their main objective.
Val was amused, she could only remember a shadow of the tree. Still, she was just as curious as her host, sitting around the Pantheon was getting very broing indeed.
"Guardians, there were guardians of the entrances and gateways to the Underworld. What became of them, do you know?"

"The scale is unlike anything your mind can even imagine." Ankou said, as if he had read the mortal's mind. In reality, the awe on her face as evident enough that even he could see it.
"That would be quite an undertaking." Just getting to the world tree took a week or so. He could make it more quickly, given that he had no need to stop, eat and sleep, but it would not be the case for them. Getting anywhere within the tree itself was also en endeavor of it's own. "But we can, if you wish."
It wouldn't hurt any to check on things.
"I have not seen one, yet." He admitted. "Echo also made her way down though the world tree... I think she did meet one on the way, but had little choice but to best it. It was not as strong as it used to be. Cerberus was in Ishum's care the last I knew." And no one knew where the beastmaster had gone, not even Jinx.

"It would be good to go." Alva decided. "To see the path even if we can't get down there?"
Val was certainly very interested, of course.
"Cerberus." She tried the name out and tried to recall it, she could feel the breath of the beast, smell its scent. "Yes, three headed dog, I quite liked him." Ishum ... that name was familiar too. "Perhaps Cerberus is still somewhere, perhaps we could find him, I think I can remember what his favourite treats were."

"Yes. I do check them every now and then, when I can." Just to make sure everything was well.
"He was a little worse for the wear the last I saw the beast." Three separate dogs rather than one three-headed beast.

"Oh." It was the goddess who spoke, three separate dogs? How had that happened. "That could prove problematic when it comes to finding him." And she did intend to find him. Gathering the guardians was something she could do in her mortal host. "Though dogs are pack animals so perhaps they stuck together." The others though, she wouldn't have thought they would be hard to find, the guardians of the Underworld were supposed to be terrifying to mortals. Then again perhaps without their home they were weak and had gone into hiding. "I plan to find them."

"They always stick together. So if we find one, we would find all three of them." Of this much, Ankou was certain.
As to where to start looking, however... This was another matter completely.

"Probably best to find where they were seen last and look for clues." Alva said, hoping to be helpful. "Dogs will be where there is food. If they're wild then you probably want to look at attacks on livestock, something like that. We could ask around."
"That is a very good point." Val agreed, that she could do as a mortal. It would certainly keep the pair of them occupied.

That hadn't quite occured to him. "That is a very good point. It might be safer to take Jinx with you when you go look. He is familiar with her." The cat could keep Cerberus in check. Better safe than sorry, after all.
Even as he listened and spoke, his pencil was dancing atop the white paper of the book drawing out rough shapes to start with.
"When did you want to leave for Yggdrasil ?"

"That is a good point." She would once have had command over the dog, but now, if he didn't reconise her he would not me all drool and tounges towards her, she was sure of that. "And whan do you want to go? I don't want to take you away from your family when you've only just returned." She knew how important they were to him and she did not wish to get in the way of that.

Hn... Ankou seemed to ponder this even as his hands kept moving atop the paper. "Maybe in a week or two ?" It would give him some downtime for once, as well as time to finish this. Also time for her to look for Cerberus, if he was anywhere nearby then his sister was likely to find him in that time span.

"That sounds like a good timespan. It would give me time to prepare and Alva time to train before we go." She would do some more research too into the world tree and the things they might face, if anything. She knew she would not be able to go into the underworld, but to find an entrance, that would be beter than nothing."

"Sounds good to me then." Her needs were quite a bit more critical than his own right now, after all. He would need to find his errais, as well - Athanasius tended to wander freely unless there was a need for him. He would serve well as his sister's mount, and it would not be his first trip within the world tree.
