His little king of the hill stunt didn't work. Reine was behind him in a flash moving quicker then he could react, her blade snipping through his back, the FEAR shield keeping him in one piece rather then stuck on the pointy end of her sword breaker. Jumping back off the pile he snapped the back end of the split scythe at her, a dull thump that barely registered on a shield.

His attacks were getting weaker, she noted; it seemed like he'd put everything into the first surprise hit, and the subsequent few after it. If he'd worn himself out, though, it was no cause to let down her guard: now, more than ever, she needed to fight back harder. Once again he threw a blade at her, presumably aiming for the neck; the thing with ranged attacks, though, especially if you were slow; was they were easy to see coming.
Both hands on the hilt of the swordbreaker, Reine charged in again, keeping close to the ground, and slashed a few more times, mimicking the fierce strikes he'd thrown her way at the start of the battle. Now it was his turn to parry.

The flurry of blows where harsh, he hadn't finished retracting the other half of his weapon, both bladed end and simple staff moved to try and catch the quick blows but they slipped in and around his defense poking at his shield.
He saw it, with little thought he tossed the bladed end out... letting it go wide? For a moment more he blocked the next few attacks, but during one right as she moved in to strike he tugged hard on the chain sending the bladed end snapping back along the ground to clip at her legs.
"I'm not... I'm not done just yet."

Too soon, too much focusing on where she was hitting, and she'd let herself slip; out of seemingly nowhere the scythe's blade slashed down at her leg, and Reine barely managed to keep her balance, stabbing wildly in retaliation before once again moving out of range, taking refuge behind a trashcan.
She would have to play this smarter from now on..

Roland snapped his weapon back into one piece again, th chain was doing him no good, it landed him one lucky blow, and the cost? Reine stumbling forward and plunging her weapon into his chest resulting in a cold confusing sensation.
<< Get out I can't stop that forever! >>
Hopping back he shook his head swinging his now whole scythe again at her to try and counter her attack.

The battle was taking a toll on her; not even with daily training had she managed to get back to the level she thought she had been at before; breathing hard, Reine crouched, still, making sure to keep an eye on Roland. This had to end soon- her legs were starting to give way, and even though she managed to deflect most of his next hit, she couldn't counter the attack.
Get up, Alynthe hissed. Get. UP.
Workin' on it. Geez.

She was pausing for a breath.
Roland raised Sylvia up moving in towards the rock pile once more lashing out at her with a quick wild swing only to catch a piece of rubble under tow. His foot slid and his slice went wide as he hit the dirt, he didn't have time to gather his thoughts. He was vulnerable, she was going to attack!

Reine curled up, safe for the briefest moment behind her trashcan; listening, watching, waiting until he retreated back to the rubble pile. She could feel the apophis doing the same, coiled up around her mind, but poised to strike- and then they moved- together, a whirl of sharp steel and murder, striking hard at the mist trainee.
If Roland could feel the coldness, the bite of the swordbreaker's teeth as they tore at him, hear Alynthe's mad laughter ringing inside Reine's head..

Roland was stumbling to get up as she finally attacked from behind a trash can. Sylvia came up slow and he felt the sharp jab of the sword breaker slipping through his shield. It was starting to truly hurt now. He took a step back, but no sooner had he was he lunging forward Sylvia coming around wide the blade getting behind her back before he gave it a sharp tug cutting through the last of her shields.
The final blow was landed and Roland de-summoned Sylvia panting holding his side which had a lovely bruise from where the last attack had hit him. Sure his shield was up but it was so low Sylvia couldn't stop all the damage.
"You're fast..." He offered a hand to her, "Remind me to never make you mad in a real fight yea?"
