Outwardly, Remarque seemed composed. Inwardly, his heart was pounding in anticipation. He knew the Mirror was acting up. She had to know it.
He wished he could explain exactly what happened, but the Mirror had not awakened him. He did not know what it was capable of, or what it was that actually happened in the mirror. All he knew was that you had to step into it, first.
All the times he'd seen anyone awaken within it, it had been a fairly quick process; the mirror sucked them in and spat them back out as something new, something better. Something the Court so desperately needed.
"You just step forward," he replied. Or, at least, that was all he could figure there was to it. "Take a deep breath, relax. It might look like just a plain mirror, but it isn't. And if you step through it, you won't regret it."

"Relax, the man says," Melian muttered to herself, voice caught somewhere between amusement and resentment. Well. The slight girl eyed the pulsing mirror before shrugging to herself. She'd already walked into one mirror tonight. What difference would one more make?
Straightening her shoulders and giving her head a tiny toss, she narrowed her eyes slightly and stepped forward.

The mirror was quick to take her in. The surface rippled, and while she might have only taken a step, it wasn't like stepping into a room. The mirror disappeared from behind her almost instantly, but in the distance, something glistened. There didn't seem to be a light source, but again there was the pull.
It wasn't a long walk; distance was deceptive, here, but in the way that Mirrorsapce was always changing, nothing was set in stone within this mirror.
The moment Melian stepped into the mirror, the power was planted inside her. The Mirror had seen her starseed and had fixed it.
She would never awaken as a senshi of the White Moon.
Instead, she would be something better.
All she had to do to awaken the power inside of her was make it out of the Mirror, and thanks to the gleaming mirror in the distance, the Black Mirror seemed to want to get her out into the world.

I've done stupider things in my life, Melian thought as she felt energies within the mirror she'd walked into twisting and reshaping her. The odd pain/not pain sensations seemed intent on remaking her into something of it's own choice.
But there was a strength in those energies that appealed to the girl. There was power here that she wanted. Shivering slightly, she felt her body curl in on itself before an even odder sensation of being spit out took over.
Stumbling slightly, the newly awakened Dark Mirror Senshi emerged from the mirror, one hand out to catch herself as she began to fall. As her vision cleared and steadied, she saw that what she was wearing now was not at all what she'd gone into the mirror in.
"Your mirror mugged me!" she exclaimed irritably. "What the hell just happened?"

Remarque couldn't help but scoff, even if he was delighted that this had not all been in vain. A new Dark Mirror Senshi, albeit one as mistrusting and new to the fold, was a welcome addition as any. "It did no such thing. You're not very good at this trusting me thing, are you? If you want your stuff back, at any time you're just going to have to stop, take a moment, focus on who you are and what you were wearing—and then it'll all come back to you. Though I don't recommend doing that now. Not when there's so much I could be teaching you. Funny, how the world works?" he prompted, looking over her new uniform.
"You could go your whole life without knowing what potential you had. And you, my dear, have such potential. That Mirror just opened a realm of opportunities. Which I will be more than happy to explain to you now that you've been chosen. Welcome to the Dark Mirror Court."
They seriously needed to find a cat to permanently lurk the halls of Mirrorspace; it was always so much easier when there was a cat to help with the henshin pen and naming the senshi. Somehow knowing your name—what you were the senshi of—made it seem so much more real. It made it more than just a pretty makeover.

The Dark Mirror Court? Melian shook her head as if trying to force her thoughts to fall into some semblance of order. Sure, why not? Really, being told she was now part of some fancypants terrorist group was the least weird thing to happen all night.
But even feeling the new power coursing through her, something felt incomplete. There was something else she needed to find and it wasn't anything that she was going to find here being pontificated at.
Fingers absently brushed over the fabric of her magic outfit, Melian considered her options.
"Teach me what you like, but not here. Something's not right, I need to find something... something to make me whole..."
Turning without thinking, she headed back towards the mirror that they'd come through to get here. Well, if that was the way in, maybe it was the way out too. Heading towards the mirror at a rapid clip, Melian hoped that this wasn't something she'd need her own personal White Rabbit for.Kyuseisha no Hikari Just wrapping this one up ♥
