"Of course not," Sherry said, "but I wanted to." She bit her lip then added, "It's not anything amazing." Ideally she would have taken him off island for dinner, or attempted to make something, and gone shopping and the whole bit. Unforeseen circumstances denied her that, so she'd made do with what she could.

"It's a two part gift, really." She eyed the bag, hoping he might find it contents useful. An unopened box of matches was rather useful and basic survival gear, but the fat and large, long burning candle smelled faintly of cinnamon and clove. It had been that or mulberry, and Sherry had decided to not go with that one. She like the spice better, and she hoped he did, too. "Part one," she nodded at the bag, "isn't much."

Sherry stared at him. "You don't have to lie. It's terrible, but I'm hoping it will be useful to you. Or at least the matches." She shrugged. She knew it was a lame gift, okay. "I couldn't get you what I really wanted to and--" She paused. Apologizing for gifts was dumb.

"The other part of your gift is," pausing again, she blushed. This had sounded like a much better idea when she thought of it, now it just sounded super terrible. "It's... You can ask me anything you want between now and midnight, and I'll answer to the best of my ability. I mean...I'd always be truthful with you, but normally I'd reserve the right to laugh something off or not answer. I won't tonight." She flustered. Really lame, Sherry. "Sorry. It's not very much, either."

Nodding, she replied simply, "Yes."

In her reasoning, it was fair. What with her knowing him for a whole year and him only knowing her for what... a few days?

Oh hello, heartbeat, when did you get so fast?

Sherry tried her best not to look shocked and flustered. She was really bad at hiding not looking flustered. "Which offer?"

"Uh." How many offers had there been? Just the two, right? Was the one even an offer, really? "Whichever one you meant."

Did you need help with her scarf, Jake? Cause she could help with that. The fact that she almost moved her hand to do so made her turn even redder.

"I'm simply answering questions, tonight." Right?

Sherry was suddenly way more disappointed than she'd have thought. That...that hadn't come out right at all. She tried not to look disappointed and flustered as she sat back up.

And then she laughed. Not a huge bellowing laugh, but certainly not a giggle. "Oh, Jake," she shook her head, "they are far from useless. If you don't need them, you can trade them." She laughed again, and crawled over next to him. "Cigarettes are a hot commodity, and crazy rare, and these are the next best thing, apparently. They're better than money to some folks." A very serious look crossed her face. "I even heard some techs were willing to trade better runic gear in exchange for them. So, uh, you probably shouldn't be decorating your walls with them."

It was too bad. To be fair, Sherry hadn't actually thought about much past kissing. Very serious kissing, but still.

She pursed her lips in thought. "Probably a lot. Those are super valuable."

Settling down on his bed, Sherry began to tug at her scarf, untying it. "We can get in more Titan Patrolling if you want. So you can earn more of those little things." She dropped her scarf onto her boots. "Tomorrow even, if you're up for it."
