No shortage of thoughts flowed through her mind. What would happen to him if he converted, and how, precisely? What could have happened, she wondered, to drive him to seek to change? She had always accepted it as a naive idea, that purification of the Negaverse would not always need to be forced on them. And here, Realgar seemed sincere, so far as the Senshi of Medicine could tell, or at the very least she wanted to believe it badly enough for her to create the illusion in her mind.
The phone continued to ring, without response.
She also half-wondered what was going through his mind, especially with the delay. Iris was just not picking up.
Finally, the call went unanswered long enough to trigger what sounded like voice mail. Asclepius opened her mouth to start to leave a message, but then the connection cut. She moved the phone from her ear to look at the screen, and frowned at it.
"Well," she told the Negaverser. "It seems she's taking the night off, or otherwise can't answer, but I will try to get in touch with her when I can." Asclepius also badly did not want to let this opportunity of a willing conversion to pass by if she could help it. Whether he changed his mind or not.
She crossed both arms now. "Listen, though, I patrol near this hospital often enough," Asclepius went on, figuring it could do no harm to tell him this. If he was intent on attacking her later, he would find out sooner or later that she frequented this place. "If you ... need me or something again, come here to look. Alone."
Asclepius glanced away to think a moment, then added. "In fact, if you come back here in about a week, I can at least let you know how those kids are doing." Perhaps that could serve as some measure of Realgar's commitment to making amends.
