Makani gave a smile when Oggie agreed not to tell his papa... though he also gave good reasons for why he couldn't, reminding Makani that he didn't even know where the man was or what he looked like. It only made Makani chuckle again, "Yes, I suppose that you are right. No reason to worry about you tattling to someone that you don't even know." There were others that were far more serious a threat when it came to them running off to Herluin to tell the man what Makani was up to he supposed. Oggie was likely to be the least likely to go and tell the man which made Makani like him all that much more.

"Show you? Ahh... hrm, maybe? I have never shown anyone before save for Rae here, so I don't know how well I would do under pressure... we can try though." He said, not wanting to tell his new friend 'no' when he was being quite supportive about it all. He just seemed curious about it all which meant a lot to Makani.

As Oggie took hold of his hand, drawing it over to rest on his chest over his heart, he went a little wide eyed again. Oggie seemed quite hands on, didn't he? Not that Makani minded at all, it was a comforting thing to have someone so close by. Sure he wanted to use his growing skills to become independent but that didn't mean he wanted to separate himself entirely from those around him. He just wanted to be able to take care of himself as a normal man might. Giving a soft chuckle at Oggie's declaration he nodded his head, "Alright, I believe you." He was a little off with the saying he was using but he had to admit that he much preferred Oggie's way of saying it. Hoping to fly was far better then hoping to die if you asked Makani.

"Now for the hard part, figuring out how to show you." He said with a little smile, hoping that maybe Oggie would know how to test Makani's new skill.

Ogbonna grinned. Yay, Maka trusted him enough to show him his special ability! He released the other boy's hand and stepped backward, preparing to be amazed by his new friend. But, as he did, Makani stated that it would be hard to figure out how to show him his ability, to which he blinked. Hm, how could Maka show him? What might help him? He tapped his chin, scrunched up his face, and eventually smiled.

"Maybe if I run around or throw snow around?" He suggested, gathering up a snow ball. "Would that help?"

"Run around while throwing snow?" He asked, then seemed to be thinking that one over, "I haven't dealt with such small things before but maybe it will be a good thing, a challenge of sorts, and that will help me to hone the ability." He mused, so long as it was just the two of them he felt that it should just be fine. He was more then certain that his father would probably kick poor Oggie in the backside if he saw the other guy throwing snow at him... but alone it should be fine. They only had to worry about Rae then.

Turning his attention to the raptrix he scratched her behind one of her fluffy ears and said, "Rae, I want to try to see if I can dodge snowballs, alright? So no growling at Oggie, understand?" The last thing he wanted was for their game to rile up Rae who could be about as overprotective of him as his father was. Best that he cover all his bases before they start the snow ball test. Only when Rae laid down in the snow did he turn his attention back to Oggie, feeling that Rae was agreeing. He could only hope that she would in fact remain so passive if he wasn't able to dodge snowballs.

Well, Oggie didn't mean for Maka to have to dodge the snow he was going to throw around, all he wanted to know if he could perceive where he had thrown it. However, if Maka wanted to get thrown snow at him, then that's what Oggie would do! He bent down to the ground as Makani spoke and gathered up a good pile of snow. He paused a moment, allowing the snow to sit idly upon his arm, and laughed.

"I just forgot how to make snowballs, silly me!" He chuckled, grabbing the snow and molding it into a perfect shape. He hoped that his aim would be alright and his new friend wouldn't get a surprise smack in the face.

"I'm going to throw one right now, okay?" He asked, before letting it fly. It was aiming right for Makani's left shoulder, thankfully away from his head.

Makani couldn't help but to laugh as the other guy claimed that he'd forgotten how to make snowballs, wondering if perhaps he should help him out? He was about to offer some help in the task that was creating the snowballs but it would seem that Oggie got it figured out given that a moment later he was announcing that he was going to throw one of them right now. Giving a smile and a nod he said, "Alright, ready!" He chriped, shifting him place, readying himself. It wondered if the snowball would be thrown right at him? If it was his sister that he asked to help he knew she would probably only be too happy to toss one of them right at him. The two of them got along a whole lot better these days then when he first showed up in Zena but that didn't mean that she would take it easy on him.

As the snowball came flying by his head his hazy eyes went wide and he said, "Ah! I think I almost saw it! Erm... well... not see it, kinda sensed it... umm... I am not exactly sure how to describe it." He said, giving a soft laugh. He wasn't sure exactly how to explain the way that he was able to 'see' things, especially when he wasn't all that good at it yet. Maybe when he honed the skill more then it would make more sense to Makani and if it made sense to him then it might very well make sense to others as well, "Would you be willing to try it again?"

He almost saw it! He almost saw it! Oh, Ogbonna would have started dancing right then and there if he felt he were allowed. This was incredible, he was helping his new friend see! He was like a Healer, wasn't he? Making Maka feel better by helping him see snowballs! He was so proud of himself and his friend!

"Absolutely!" He chirped, gathering another snowball. He threw this one at just the same speed, but slightly closer to Makani's head, so that the rush of air it made as if was thrown could be felt.

Makani couldn't help but to laugh a little at Oggie's enthusiasm, "If I didn't know better I'd think you were excited about throwing them at me." He said jokingly, giving a soft laght as he did so. There was no malice in his words, instead just teasing, before he prepared for the next snowball... and this one he could sense a little better, likely because it felt though it were coming closer to him then the other one had, perhaps? It was an instinctive thing to lift a hand to ward the snowball off, and much to his surprise it hit and exploded against his hand. It was something that made his hazy eyes go wide, "O-Oh..." Wow.

"Wow!" He gasped out, holding up his snow cover hand, "Did you see that? I think I almost caught it!" He said in an excited manner, unable to help being delighted over that. It wasn't as though it was something he'd meant to do but he'd still done it! He'd almost caught a snowball despite everything! This ability was going to amazing when he finally learned to hone it, he just knew!

Ogbonna was way ahead of Makani. As soon as the other boy had raised his hand to ward off the snowball, the curly haired hybrid started to bounce up and down. He saw it, he saw it, and he tried to smack it away! This was spectacular!

"You almost caught it, you did!" He squealed, leaping forward to wrap Makani in a snuggle. "I'm so proud of you! Nothing will stop you, now, I know it for sure!"

Makani was a little surprised when he found himself suddenly being hugged, having sensed Oggie getting closer but he hadn't really sensed his intentions. It was nice though, he didn't get a lot of hugs given his age and gender and he couldn't help but to enjoy it. A shame that it wasn't a hug from a certain Wind Tribesman but those were words he wouldn't be speaking out loud now or ever he thought to himself, shoving them aside. Instead he lifted his arms up, returning the nice hug, and said, "Thank you... I am sure that I will need to hone the skill if I am ever going to make real use of it but I think it was a good first step." He told Oggie.

He would need to practice more, get more and more used to the strange power, and perhaps one day he would be able to use it to be truly independent. If Oggie was any indication he might really be able to get through life, even without sight, but doing so like he was a normal person. He would prove to everyone, himself included, that he wasn't a liability! He would show them that he could be as strong as everyone else, "Thank you for helping me, Oggie. It means a lot to me."

As soon as they parted from their hug, Oggie placed his hands on his hips, thrust his chest out proudly, and beamed. He had done a wonderful thing today, and thus, deserved to feel a sense of pride in himself and in his new friend.

"First step is always the hardest, but always something you should do!" He concurred, nodding. "And you are very very very welcome, Maka! I will help you whenever you need me, okay? I'm not to far away!"

It was on the tip of Makani's tongue to ask Oggie about helping him to find Lusala... but decided against it. Best that he didn't impose on his new friend so soon after they met. Besides, he felt that he was no where near ready to go out hunting after the merchant. He would instead just wait, to see if he could better hone this new skill of his, then he would seek out Lusala. With time and a lot of patience on Makani's part he would be able to do more and more on his own, up to and including finding the scarce merchant caravan that Lusala rode with. It had been far too long since he'd last met with him after all and he was starting to miss him.

Giving the friend in front of him a happy smile he said, "I thank you, Oggie, it is quite kind of you to offer. I will in turn offer you the same kindness in turn. If you ever need me let me know." He gave a soft chuckle then and added, "I might not be able to do a lot now to help you but I feel given time I will become someone very useful." He just had to keep training was all, to get himself to the point where he would be able to fulfill such an offer.

"You don't need to become useful, you already are!" Ogbonna replied, rolling his eyes. "Everybody has a use, no matter what. You are my friend, which means you're someone I want to lean on when I need help, which makes you useful! And my use is..." He paused, his mind drawing a blank on the exact words to say, before his smile came back full force. "To be the very best companion to you and Rae and to everyone else I meet! One day, I will have big sturdy gauntlets, and I will be able to protect everybody! That will be my use then, which will add to my use now!"

Everyone has a use, huh? He supposed that meant that he just had to figure out what his use was. If everyone had a use then that meant that he did too. Finding it, that would be a bit of a challenge but it would be fun at the same time, "I will take your words to heart, Oggie." He told his friend, giving him a smile, then listened as Oggie explained what his own use was. He was the best companion to those that he met and one day he would have gauntlets to protect everyone with. What an interesting thought, he couldn't help but to wonder if one day there would be a way that Makani himself would be able to protect others. If he were to even try he would need to put so much effort into such a thing, something that made the task seem almost daunting but he wouldn't give up!

"We then, once you are a big, important warrior don't forget about your friends here in Zena." He teased Oggie a bit before giving him a smile. He was just about to suggest more snow throwing when a voice calling out caught his attention, "Ah! Sounds like my father." He said, turning toward where the voice was coming from.

As predicted a big, intimidating sort of Ice Tribesman with spear in hand came walking over toward them, the man's eyes narrowing for a moment on Oggie, as though inspecting his son's new friend, before he turned to fuss over Makani, adjusting his son's cloak so that he would be that much warmer, "Makani, you have been out a while, perhaps its time for you and Rae to come back home to warm up." He said, brushing some snow away that was clinging to the boy's cloak. It was obvious the man was a bit over protective but who could blame him given the boy's condition.

Makani nodded, "Yeah, you might be right." He said before turning back toward Oggie, reaching a hand out toward him, then upon finding him he patted him on the shoulder, "Thank you for today, Oggie, there is much for me to think about now." He said, giving the other boy his best smile.

Ogbonna scoffed and shook his head. Forget about his friends in Zena? He would never dare to forget anyone he loved and protected, that would be ridiculous! He moved to take Makani by the hand again, only to notice the ice man approach. He tilted his head, not the least bit intimidated by his presence, and grinned.

"You must be Maka's papa!" He exclaimed, all of the innocence of a child within his voice. "I was just talking to Maka about my family in Mez and that he can come visit anytime he wants! You can come, too!"

Then, as Makani thanked him, his smile softened. However, instead of simply replying or tapping the other boy back, he enveloped him in another hug.

"You're welcome, thank you for spending time with me, too!" He said. "I hope I can see you again! Maybe you can come see me?"

Herluin starred down at Oggie for a long moment, trying to figure out how to deal with him, he didn't seem all that dangerous so he didn't think that he would need to give him a swift kick in the backside. If anything it would appear as though he were proving to be a decent enough friend for his son and Makani seemed to be in a good mood. That was the best thing that could happen was for him to make more friends he thought to himself, "Mez, huh? We might consider a visit in the future." It had been a while since they visited that area after all and another visit was overdue.

His amiable mood seemed to lessen a bit when the other boy set to hugging Makani, now that was something that was worthy of a kick he thought to himself. Hopefully he would back off before he was forced to do that he decided, not wanting to punt his son's new friend if he could help it.

Makani gave a smile, happy to hear that they might be able to visit Mez, before he was happily returning the hug that Oggie was giving him, "I hope to visit with you sometime soon, Oggie, I look forward to hanging out with you again." He said in a cheerful manner. He was all for the visit if only because he wanted to travel more, a little bored with staying in one spot for too long at a time.
