"Oh, I see... " Nora stretched a bit, trying to ease her discomfort from the bindings,"It's amazing that you got a job so quick. I guess the school was happy to welcome an old student back to teach this time around." Nora moved about to curiously peek about the house, she chuckled, "How's work been on you? Used to teaching kids like me?" The delinquent smiled back,"I know it's not easy to deal with students like me~"
She stopped in the living room , looking out a window carefully, "Well, I guess there is good students like Heidi and... what's that other shorty's name.... Sa... Sam?"
---> "It is my business when you are in my class. "
The teacher took the book and looked at the cover, "If you have a medical condition, it is my concern, if you have family issues, it is my concern, if you just don't like how I teach, it is my concern. As long as you are my student I will be looking for anything that would affect your school work."
Seijin handed the book back to Samantha,"I suppose you chose B. The lesser of the two responses may I add."

"Samantha," Yuuka corrected Nora, "And yes... I was quite surprised with the job offer as well. I was hardly two weeks out of collage when I received the offer. I decided to accept, already knowing so much about the school already... and even now I'm finding I have a lot more to learn."
The teacher moved to sit on the couch, reclining into its soft material. "The work is difficult, and challenging, but I am used to it. I'll admit it is odd, however, to be on the other side of those classrooms!"
---
Samantha stood there, staring at her Teacher, still with the blank look on her face. Her gaze fell to her feet as she took up her book for a second time, hugging it to her chest.
"...I suppose... it is medical?" She paused for a while, before continuing, "I don't... know... what else it could be. I-It's not you. I like you. ... I-I am just sick."

"Samantha, right, " Honestly Nora didn't know the girl , or had any business with her , so she just tucked that fact in a corner of her mind to gather dust. She watched as Yuuka went on sat down, leaning on the wall where she had been previously looking out the window,"Well who cares; you got a job fresh outta college- They must know how qualified you are!" Nora's arms were crossed as she nodded so matter of factly.
"You'll get used to the people and the situation," The delinquent shrugged,then grinned,"Did you make any friends on your first day of school, uh~?"
--->
Seijin tried to smile slightly,"I have to say I am a hit happy to hear its not me that's all the problem." The teacher sighed, before she crossed her arms thoughtfully before musing," What is it you are sick of? Your school records show no medical alert.... no health problems, or known allergies... "
She sigher again and put her hands to her hips,"Wait, you don't know? Have you not seen a doctor about whatever symptoms you may have?" Suddenly her concern skyrocketed: "You must have whatever is making you so cranky and uncomfortable and pale checked out by a professional; it could be dangerous!"
There is was... that strange energy again, irradiating from Samantha. She honed her senses, opening the usually restrictive walls of her psyche a little further, but just enough to compass Samantha's being, from her breathing to her heart beat.

"My first day, huh?" Yuuka laughed, "I suppose not. Just made up with an old one~"
"And what of you, Nora? How has these years been to you?" Yuuka turned to face her companion, leaning further into the sofa. "I had to leave abruptly, and didn't get to properly say my farewells... I hope you didn't suffer because of that." She smiled, brushing hair from her face. "I missed tutoring you, you know."
---
"No, I-- haven't..." Samantha seemed to shy away from Seijin with each question asked. She reached up with one hand to tug at her hood, pulling its shadow further across her face, but even then she couldn't hide the distorted wavelengths from emanating from her body. Her heartbeat would seem irregular, and her breathing was slow, with each inhalation seemingly forced.
"It just started... but it's fine. It's just a cold, so don't worry. .... I want to go home, so get out of the way. ...Please..."
---
"Mariaaaa, there you are!" a bubbly blond ran up behind her favorite classmate, wrapping her arms around the young woman's shoulders from behind. "I've been looking everywhere for you! We always walk home together, so why'd you run off on your owwnn?" She pretended to act hurt, a playfull whine in her voice. It was all part of the act!
Lucy let go and skipped around Maria's front, clasping hands behind her back with a broad smile. "I like your new outfit, though! It looks comfy!"

"That brings up your friend tally by one!" Nora laughed as she watched Yuuka lean back into the couch and ask her about her own life. The delinquent's smile faded a bit,"Not much. Haven't done much with my life other than go to school. Only thing worth saying as far as that goes is that my one friend is Hazuki Koudo, and... that I work a Cafe Du Youkai. ..."
"... Unless you want to point out I am a delinquent in the school's eyes and that I play baseball...." She shrugged, crossing her arms as she finished saying that. Sure, Yuuka had been friends with her mother, even her stepfather, but Nora rather not talk about something like that unless she was asked. Maybe Yuuka had forgotten her mother and stepfather, maybe she wouldn't ask?
--->
Seijin sighed, that'd be enough prying for a day. She might have just gotten all she'd get from Samantha. The teacher patted Samantha's hooded head,"Okay, dear, I hope you get better...." She moved around her student.
"If its those things you would be wise to tell me now; the symptoms could get much worse if you let them go unchecked. They could vanish or stay permanently... I can help you if it is them." She spoke as she got to her desk.
--->
Maria's knee buckled just a bit from Lucy's impact. It snapped her out of her thoughts with a blink as Lucy came around in front of her as bubbly as usual. "Oh Lucy-..." Maria gave a tired smile,"Sorry, I didn't even notice I was already off campus-"
"Uh?" With the blonde's comment on her outfit the black-haired journalist looked down on herself. Unlike her usual perfect and neat crimson uniform ,she wore a plaid shirt over a white t-shirt over a pair of black pants and some sneakers. Maria blushed a bit though, a bit from her shame in wearing something so inappropriate for school and a bit because Lucy liked or,she smiled again,"T-thanks...?"

"I think you mean to one!" Yuuka laughed, but then she noticed Nora's slight discomfort. She knew the young woman didn't like labels... she never had. So, Yuuka decided to change the subject.
"So, how did you end up in my classroom? I knew you were one for chemistry, but biology is different. Not that I mind of course... I suppose I am still so surprised by the whole thing. After I moved away, I was certain I would never see you again." She paused, then gave the baseball player a funny look. "... And where did you come up with that ridiculous disguise?"
---
Samantha twitched with each pat, her body freezing in place. She didn't move even as Seijin went to her desk and sat, having apparently ended the conversation on her own. The young student mulled over the woman's words in her own head for a moment that seemed to last like a lifetime.
".... Them?" She finally spoke up, still not having moved from her spot. "What do you mean... them?"
---
"Well you are!" Lucy pretended to pout, folding her arms neatly in front of her, hips cocked to one side. "You're halfway home, you know! You're so absentminded today, it isn't like you at all!"
Her features and posture relaxed, and a warm smile lit up her face. "Well, I really like that look on you! It's nice to finally see you letting loose and relaxing, ya'know? Instead of trying to be that uppity perfect, goody-goody student girl!" She giggled, "You look really cute!"

"Well I had to take Biology to graduate. So I had to take the class this year; I did take every kind of chemistry the school offered. Hell, I would have take biochemistry if I could have," Nora shrugged again, "it was all coincidence."
"Disguise?" Nora looked to her bag," That's my stepbrother's suit." ---->
"I have a feeling you know what 'them' are." The teacher sipped her coffee as she continued to feel what Sammy eradiated, "The cards in your jacket pocket." Calmly she set her cup down, she pondered whether to show Sammy or wait till she was sure of the card's presence.
---> "That's odd... I guess I wasn't paying attention," Maria muttered a hand on her school bag. She noticed papers that had been hastily shoved inside the flap. She took the moment to push them fully inside the bag. "I guess I am just distracted?"
Maria blushed a bit more. Lucy thought the change was an attempt from herself to be a bit more relaxed. She had to smile... that was for the best,"You think it looks okay? I am not used to wearing these sorta clothes. The plaid shirt is actually Samuel's."

"Your stepbrother's? That's all you were wearing..?" Yuuka turned fully towards Nora, "That's pretty bold of you to run off with his things to pull such an elaborate ruse. I hope he won't discover their missing? Come to think, I don't believe I've ever met the real Mo, have I? ...No, it was only you and your mother when I came to tutor you... --Ah, and how is your mother? I've missed her too, I hope she is doing well!"
---
"How do y--" Samantha visibly flinched this time, taking a step to turn around and face Seijin. She half-peered out from under the hood with one eye. A careful observer would notice a hand pressed against her coat's front pocket.
"I... I mean, n-nevermind." She turned towards the door again. "It doesn't matter... If you know or not."
---
"Yeah, it looks great! You should borrow his clothes more often, they really suit you!" The bubbly blonde giggled again, spinning playfully on her heel with fingers woven behind her hips. "Well come on anyway, we'll walk the rest of the way home together! We gotta get your head un-distracted!"

"My mother married my stepfather, so I have three step brothers," Nora shrugged,"He only wore the suit to go to job interviews, but since he works at a mechanic's shop he has no use for it. The motorbike is his as well."
"My mother..."Nora crossed her arms and rubbed her forearm, "She... passed away."
--->
"That is up to you," a pair of white ears appeared on her head as she took another sip of her coffee," But I could help you if you would let me." --->
"Thank you Lucy," maria smiled through the exhaustion, truly happy,"Yes come on, we can walk the rest of they together."
"It has just been a long week, I will be fine," Maria reassured her.

"She... what--?!" Yuuka stood from the couch, obviously in shock. "Nora, I... I had no idea. I... had wrote letters to her after settling into collage, but I never received any reply... I always assumed she had grown bitter with me for leaving you alone. Nora, I am so sorry..." The teacher went over to her friend and hugged her tightly. "If I had known, I... I would have come right back!"
---
"..."
Samantha dropped her book, throwing herself at the teacher's desk, knocking stacks of books and other items off it. She reached out and grabbed Seijin by the shirt, probably knocking the coffee away as well. "What do you know?! What could you possibly know?!" Samantha's eyes appeared blank. From the corner of her mouth, a red line, a bit of blood, dripped. She let go with one hand, reclining a bit to wipe her mouth with her sleeve.
---
"Well don't worry, the week is almost over!" Lucy took her friend's hand, pulling her along. "C'mon, I'll cook you dinner! Your family is away right now, right? So you shouldn't be sick and on your own! I'll even sleep over if you want!"

Nora didn't speak as Yuuka apologized. It wasn't till the teacher came up and hugged her that the delinquent slowly returned the gesture. She tucked her face into Yuuka's neck," My mother would never be bitter,she was very nice. She was very happy to hear that you went to college. Even when... when she was in the hospital..." ---->
The teacher hardly blinked. She allowed Samantha to grab her shirt, but once the girl screamed at her, she took her arm and twisted as she stood, successfully slamming her flat on her back onto the desk with no force whatsoever. Her yellow eyes peered down at her student, "Behave."
"I will tell you what you want," she took her cup and went to the side where she had a microwave and a thermo. She poured some coffee from there into her cup,"But if you treat me like an enemy, I will return the gesture likewise."
----> Maria moved her feet after Lucy who was energetic as usual,"That sounds delicious... oh yes tey are, only Ruby and Samuel re around"

"I had hoped that it wasn't the case, but still, I... Oh Nora, I am so sorry!" She continued to hug Nora tightly, lamenting her own sorrows onto the teenager. "I wish I had gone to see her... I wish I hadn't gone away!" Slowly, Yuuka parted from Nora, though still kept her hands on her arms. "I.. I hope it wasn't painful? Her passing, I mean... was it peaceful? Of all the people who deserved a long and happy life..."
---
Before Samantha could react, she was staring at the ceiling. Utterly bewildered the girl was, laying there, sprawled across the desk and dizzy. Out of her hoodie's pocket slid a deck of cards, which scattered into a neat pile beside her body. She blinked a few times, then brought her sleeve to the corner of her mouth again, wiping away yet another trail of blood.
"...Ow..." She rolled over on the desk, turning to face Seijin, not realizing her cards had spilled out. "...You think you can really help, huh..."
---
"Good, then they can take care of you too! Oh, this will be so fun Maria! We can stay up and watch movies or play board games, or or oooh I can read you a bedtime story if you like! Maybe a scary ghost story, or an adventure story with a brave knight!"
Lucy continued to pull Maria along until they were almost upon the latter's house. "I mean, I'll still make you rest, and I'll get your medicine for you too! The important thing is for you to get better and feel well again so you can be the same grumpy and responsible girl you always are~ heart "

"She was .... Okay, I suppose. You know she never let on how sick she was," Nora patted Yuuka's back, her words dull , almost a bit forced,"I was with her, so... We were able to say goodbye. It was like she fell asleep.... but the... the pulse went flat..."
--->
"Of course I do, I've helped many like you," Seijin came over to Samantha, a second cup in her hand. The white ears at the top her head twitched a bit as the student rolled over, but the teacher handed the cup to Samantha, taking instead a card from her deck.
"These cards, or the decks rather, have a theme to them," Seijin explained,"They all round up to a single harmonious being, who is who they impersonate upon entering a duel. Changes inside the duel are the expected... outside... they are just an inconvenience. "
"For example," The now yellowed eyed teacher replaced the card and held the deck for Sammy to take while she opened her vest and went into her shirt's breast pocket, pulling out a small deck inside what probably used to be a clear plastic playing card box," My cards are themed to wolves and martial art moves as well as swordsman skills; I figure they were of a tengu; the wolven demons of the mountains in Japan. ..." She poked one if the white ears,"These only prove that."
"Many of the students in the school have undergone similar changes; you aren't the only one," Seijin put away her deck and buttoned her vest,"how you cope with these changes will determine how much they will affect you."
"And from what I have seen, it has not been in a good way with you, Samantha."
--->
Maria only smiled as Lucy continued to bubble off energy. Having the blonde around always turned into a revitalizing experience. The kendo captain nodded at what seemed important with an approving, tired smile,"That really sounds delightful."
At last they came to her home, a rather large estate not to far from their equally large and important school,"Oh let me open the door-" Maria broke from Lucy as she ... well, dug around her bag looking for her house keys. She was very unused to not knowing where things were in her bag! A couple of paper fell out, and the journalist resorted to simply stepping on then to keep them from fluttering away.
Finally she found her key, and with a blushed opened the front door. "G-go on in! I just need to.. stuff these paper back into my bag-" She quickly went about that, but not before her younger sister came peering around the now opened door.
"Maria, you aren't meant to have guests!" The girl whined. She had black hair like her sister sister but her skin was a tad darker; perhaps 15 or 16 years old. She was lean and much more meanly built from constant exercising and athletic activity. Her hands were on her cocked hips, and her lips were pressed in an disapproving frown. "Ruby shut up and let me through," Maria rolled her eyes.
The older sister pushed passed the little one who groaned and closed the door once Lucy was inside. "Samuel isn't going to be happy." "He won't mind that I brought one friend, so go nag your friends in Facial-magazine or whatever those sites are called." Maria waved her off and took Lucy's hand pulling her from the main room into a side living room. "I won't even dignify that with a correction!"
Ruby's steps faded upstairs as Maria sighed and dropped her bag onto the couch,"Sorry about her, she is a bit territorial at times, or possessive..."
"Oh! Ma-... make yourself at home, Lucy-!"

"I... I see... I don't know what to say. I wish I had been there for you, Nora, and for your mother too. I adored her, such a kind and strong woman." Yuuka was holding back tears, but she tried to hide them and put on a strong face. "But... I am glad she went peacefully..."
---
"Others...?" Samantha wheezed, taking the coffee cup as it was offered to her even though she didn't know why. She simply stared at the thermos, ironically somewhat frozen from the warm sensation it gave off.
She watched and listened as Seijin began to explain the nature of her recent ailment, the source of which being tied to these disgusting cards. "I am... not... the only one..." She slowly reached out to take her deck of cards, now holding both them and the coffee in both hands, while still laid across her side. That was probably an amusing sight.
"How can I... cope? What must I do...? I am in... pain... Ever since they became bound to me, I one with them. They mock me, taunt me and rot me from within. I feel... cold... like metal... Oxidation... Rust."
---
"Oh, Hi Ruby! --Er bye Ruby!" Lucy waved happily, even though the sister in question appeared to be grumpy as usual. She followed Maria as she was prompted, held by the hand and lead into a side room. While Maria fiddled with her things, she flopped across a chair the wrong way, her legs and head hanging off the sides.
"Your furniture is soooo comfyyyyy Maria! I could fall asleep right here!" She rolled back and forth in the chair, almost pawing at the open air and stretching like a cat. "...Oh, and I don't think it's called 'facial magazine', Maria..."
