Sammy smiled nodding slightly, "So am I, I finally have things I care about. Things to be happy and fight for." Her lips brushed over Siddie's hair as they curled closer.
"Why not? The mentorship program exists for a reason doesn't it? You just have to ask."

"That's a good way to put it. Things we care about enough to fight for," Siddie mused. "I think that was what it was. I didn't have anything before that I cared that much about. I was mostly sort of passing the time."
She shifted a little in Sammy's lap and petted Clove thoughtfully. "Asking is scary," she said. "What if he says no?" Then, before Sammy could respond to that, she continued, mostly to herself, "Well, what if he says no? That's ... not the end of the world. I could do something else. Or on my own. Even if he did say no."
She played with the soft tufts of fur on Clove's chest, ruffling them up and smoothing them down again. The drutten closed its eyes and chirped once, and she smiled gently at it. "I've been. Letting other people tell me what to do next all my life. Maybe I should stop."

"Better to pass time then fight battle for someone else as a pawn." Fingers gently rubbed at Siddie, not tickling more like a light massage of her sides followed by a kiss to the head.
She waited till Siddie finished debating with herself offering a shrug, "Hey could be worse, could be Red, or one of the Trick or Treaters. Malcolm seems pretty down to Halloween if you ask me compared to some of the staff." She smiled, "And even then, you can still do it on your own just like you said."
Sammy leaned back, pressing to the chimney and tugging Siddie back with her looking towards the stars her smile turning to a grin. "Trust me when I say there is a certain satisfaction when you stop doing what's expected and what you're told."

"I'm going to do it," Siddie decided, leaning comfortably on Sammy and offering her a little smile. She looked up contemplatively at the stars. "I'm going to break the fake engagement," she added after a moment. "I'm tired of lying, even if it's a sideways sort of lying. I'll apply to stay at the school until I've graduated." Clove chirped and pushed its head under her hand; she'd stopped petting it. She resumed her slow stroking of its fur. "I've saved a few seeds," she added, sounding a little embarrassed. "So when I get cut off I won't be completely broke. Mama will probably be mad about that." She sighed.

Sammy sat up a bit tilting her head some, blinking curiously as Siddie made up her mind. "Be sure Calder isn't around. He's uhh. Not in a good mood, but I'm sure Barth won't mind." She tugged Siddie in closer kissing her cheek and head again. "I know I don't have an objection. And if the school tries to move you out I know I'm pretty much ensured a place here because of how I got in." It was after all, the only home she ever really had.
The saved seeds part caused Sammy to chuckle just a bit, "Yeaaah probably a good idea to have saved some of that up. We'll manage though."

Siddie tilted her head back, her mouth twisting into a puzzled half-pout. "I'd think that would improve Calder's mood, he's never been happy about the arrangement," she said. "But I'll take your word for it." She smiled a little. "I don't think they'd kick me out now. I think I've kept my grades up enough that I can apply for scholarships."
She nodded. "We'll manage," she agreed. "We'll be fine. Even if we have to fight a little for it."

"Might have had a few... choice words with him again." She looked away eyes dimming the sign of 'I might have been a bad ghoul don't ask' with the way she started to squirm. "It might make him happy but he's uhh not very happy right now per say." Looking back down at Siddie she smiled, "You where the better student out of the two of us. Worst case I'm moving into your dorms when I'm done classes if they won't let me keep the demon one."
Arms curled tight around Siddie as Sammy nuzzled into her warm shadowy flesh. "I've never had a problem with having a little bit of a fight."

The corners of Siddie's mouth tipped down as she thought about that. "Does this have something to do with how he was being strange around Amrita?" she asked.
"It's not like we don't practically live together anyway," she shrugged, and smiled a little. "It's worth it."

"Little bit. I might have gone to talk to him about it... we might have fought. Don't worry about it. It's done and over and I'm letting him cool his head." She squeezed Siddie again trying to reassure her that it wasn't REALLY a big deal. Really. Don't. Ask. Ever.
Still Sammy chuckled softly as she shrugged, "Gona need a bigger bed to move all those pillows I have on the floor since a certain shadow pony broke my old bed~"

Siddie's forehead wrinkled with a small frown, but she let the subject drop for now. Luckily for Sammy, she had managed to distract her ghoulfriend with the next thing she said. Siddie sat up huffily. "And whose fault was that?" she snapped.

Siddie pouted and gave Sammy a light, open-handed smack to the side of the head. "You deserved it for surprising me with that, anyway."

Chuckled and squeaked as she was slapped, a pair of fingers moving to playfully tickle Siddie's waist. "I did, I did, but hey next time I promise to use non-magical ones okay?"
