As the last two angler men died, A relaxed look grew on the mechanist's face as he realized he wasn't in any immediate danger. He would allow himself to be helped, not because he couldn't walk but because he didn't really feel like moving his arm any more than he had to. As they entered the sealed room and the air hissed out, Raziel sighed with relief, placing a hand at the clasp of the helmet and hearing the air depressurize with another hiss as he removed it from his face.. it's about damn time. he thought to himself as he reached a shaky and bloody arm, pulling out a ziplock bag containing a lighter and a pack of cigarettes from his jacket. Opening the bag, he would take the pack of cigarettes out and place one between his lips and hold the lighter to his lips with his good arm, igniting the cigarette and inhaling deeply as he held out his injured arm for Johan to work on. "Jeez, That was one pissed off fish. I wonder if it's because I love seafood..." He would murmur slightly to himself, not really talking to anybody in particular.

The squad leader actually offered a small chuckle from behind the helmet as the medic did her job and allowed the rest of the team to make sure everything went alright. Moving to wall opposite of him the squad leader leaned up againsrt and started to speak up quickly."Well those bastards hate all of us then. Congrants Kid, new will be sent to command of the C rank you just earned yourself." she softly.

Raziel would continue puffing on his cancer stick, inhaling and exhaling the smoke as if it were his oxygen for a moment. As he neared the butt of the cigarette, Johan finished his work on Ace's arm. The trainee would stand up, dropping the cigarette butt, watching it roll and smashing it underneath one of his boots. he touched the stitching on his arm experimentally, the mechanist's nose wrinkling slightly in discomfort. He looked at Johan and nodded. "Thanks." he said simply before the squad leader spoke to him. He turned around and looked at the squad leader, surprised he had managed to actually make them laugh. He nodded again before responding. "C rank? Thanks Cevah!" He said, a small smile creeping across his face for the first time since he had been in aramil. Dark brown hues would shift from Cevah to R.E.X., who still had a deep rut in his armor from getting sliced by a trident. Looking around for a moment, Raziel grew thoughtful. "Is this a military outpost? if so, there should be some scrap metal i can fix him up with, right?" he would ask Cevah, pointing a gloved hand at his mechanical dinosaur.

Cevah would watch the eyes of her trooper and already predict what he was going to ask. The machine had taken some damage during the fight and with all that the thing had done, it should get some repairs. Sighing faintly through the mic the squad leader would sigh softly after the mechanist would speak up. "You earned it, your payment for the mission is getting transfered to the Hanger as we speak. Your dino can get some repairs down the hall, The Emperor made sure that all outposts had some form of maintenance bay or robotics wing." she said softly watching the medic raise up from her spot and start heading out. Cevah would slowly push off the wall and speak off as she walked away. "Your welcome to go there now and get s**t done. We will be in the command section or mess hall. We have a day or two before are called out." she said softly

As Cevah mentioned the hangar, A look of puzzlement grew on his face. This only lasted for a moment however, before realization dawned on him. Musta been the hangar that Kirin was talking about. Wonder what kinda high tech s**t they got in there... Jeez, leaving Noc was the best decision i've made in a while. The mechanist would think to himself slightly, before Cevah mentioned a small robotic's wing. Ace nodded, affirming that he understood where to go. "Thanks Cev. I'm gonna go fix Rex up, but i'll come find you guys after i'm done. Shouldn't take me too long." He would say to his armored commander. And with that, the trainee turned on his heel and strode swiftly out of the room, metallic dinosaur walking behind him with his faint clicking noises. Soon enough, they reached the robotics bay that Cevah had been talking about. Gathering the necessary tools and other items, Ace would set to work. He started by cutting all of the pieces of metal he had aquired to a specific length, making sure they were exactly proportionate. He then removed the damaged armor panels, gently setting them to the side. There were a few cut and damaged wires. Raziel sighed. "Rex, enter sleep mode. I need to rewire a few things." He would say plainly. The dinosaur wordlessly shut itself down, it's light electric blue eyes going dark. Immediately Raziel searched around the bay until he aquired the necessary copper wire filaments and other things, and began rewiring the damaged area. Once this was fixed he put the newly cut armor panels into place, sealing them onto the rest of the robot. Once this was finished he tested the new armor pieces, striking them experimentally with a hammer to see how they held up. Deciding the new armor panels were fine, He reached a black gloved hand into Rex's mouth, flipping open a panel and touched the manual reboot button towards the back of the dinosaur's mouth. The blue lights in it's eyes flicked on, and it's gaze remained blank as it rebooted itself, before it's neck turned quickly to gaze at Ace. "I am now at one hundred percent capacity, Ace. What are your commands?" It would ask. The man would remain silent for a moment, ignoring the robot's plea for a command. He was too lost in thought for the moment.

Ace sighed, deciding that there was really no need for overthinking things. My uncle always did say i'd end up thinking myself to death. He thought to himself as he shook his head, dragging himself away from his depressing thoughts. A gloved hand would reach into his jacket once more as he pulled out his pack of cigarettes yet again, pulling one out and lighting it. The mechanist would take a deep drag of the cigarette, exhaling a large cloud of gray smoke before he walked towards the mess hall to meet up with his squad. He hadn't esten anything in literally a day, so he was practically starving at this point. He wasn't even sure if there would be food in an abandoned facility, but it sure as hell wouldn't hurt to look. R.E.X. would follow behind him protectively, scanning around cautiously even though there were practically no threats in the area. As they neared the mess hall, Raziel would absentmindedly run his hand through his raven black hair for a moment, combing it slightly so it wasn't going every which way.

(Flashback post.)

I met the ocean floor, staring into complete darkness, the light of the sun far lost from the weight of the waves. The first thing I could remember was the bomb coming down on us, and destroying the city. It was quick, like a flash of thunder, and then everything was nil. In the last few seconds, I watched my father cry, as he mourned everything he'd ever worked for. His life, the construction of the city, was about to vanish before him. His friends, who lived on the upper-portion of Uuma, were all about to die. I can't quite remember why, but I found myself feeling a great apathy for him. I felt almost obligated to pretend I didn't know what was going on, as I was still a young child.

I was supposed to die innocent, unknowing of what was to come upon me. That was what every parent would like to wish for their child. So, as my last act, I didn't speak or cry, I only looked into my father's eyes. I held his hand, and then a great big smile covered my lips. Begrudgingly, I held the truth back. However, the next few instants revealed to me that we hadn't died yet. My mother and father held my tightly in their grasps, as we were pushed deep below the surface by the kinetic force. Thousands of the non sea-oriented people died in that instant, but because we were Mer, we survived. We swam westward, the only thing we felt we could do. My father and mother remembered that the great island of Aramil was that way, and it wasn't too far off. All we needed was so swim back to the surface, and to swim west. The great landmass of the island was already in our sight.

However, there was blood and guts floating all around us. A city of hundreds of thousands had just died, so the water was a haze red. I even felt urine swim through my nostrils, before I eventually grew accustomed enough to it and no longer cared. My mother and father seemed to be sensitive to everything at that moment, though. I had no great attachment to my friends, or my city. But for them, it was everything; it was an escape from Kaminae, some true freedom.

That freedom disappeared in a flash, beneath the whim of the black-haired tyrant.

My mother and father were in a great hurry. They bended the water around us, and tried to help us back to the surface via a typhoon of water. However, it didn't prove to be quick enough. It wasn't long before we were surrounded by shark-like monsters, attracted to the blood and macabre of the situation. Then, leading this horde of vultures, came the great drake. My father tried to fight him using his steel-like water, but his skin was too tough, and he proved too agile. Soon enough, he was beneath my father, biting off his legs. My mother swam in to try and save him, and actually managed to kill the creature. However, by that time, she had already lost all of the fingers on her right arm.

With the sharks closing in, we were completely doomed. My father was in too much pain to use magic, and my mother and I knew he was to die. She, in her grief, became paralyzed. I was alone and defending against them all, with nothing but childish naivety and weakness. In my desperation, I continued to swim, and they responded with a chase. I don't remember what happened next. All I recall was a great light wash over me, and a horrible cold. Then, the sharks were all gone. My mother, my father and I were alive, for the most part. My mom did her best to get us up to shore, where she managed to bandage my father and keep him alive. It didn't matter though, at that point. He'd already been completely destroyed, his legs -- and therefore his identity -- devoured. He would never walk or swim again.

He'd be nothing. He'd live for nothing, and enjoy nothing. All of his friends had died, and his work had died. So, he created a dagger of ice, and stabbed himself through the heart until he couldn't see or feel anymore. My mother screamed in anguish and told him to stop, but was unable to do anything. I watched, and that became my second memory.

Everything from before then was washed away from me. Nothing really mattered anymore. I lost all of the experiences I had with those two, and they were replaced with complete heartbreak. My mother and father, my bond with them, it just didn't matter at all. When the woman tried to come over and grab me, after she'd bandaged her right hand, I pulled away. I remember screaming at her: you were too weak to save father. She remembered those words, certainly, as she began to regret that event for the rest of her life. We moved onto the island and were kept fed and alive by one of my dad's business partners, who eventually married my mother. He treated me like his own son . . .

But I didn't treat him like my father. He was just a replacement, really. I inquired for him to educate me rather than give affection to me, and for him to teach me how to fight. The basics, I was taught. I learned how to use a spear, and how to properly fight in dragon scale armor, which was rare and valuable. He was my first mentor, and eventually his time came as well. He passed away due to a sudden illness, right around the time his marriage started to fall apart. I felt a very unsteady fissure in my heart at that moment, wondering just what type of person my mother was. I then wondered what type of person I was, so jaded and apathetic to everything.

I tried to be more like my people. I started to revel in the stupid things, like the sandy beaches and the crabs. I listened to the waves through my conch, and smiled and hummed in delight. Maybe that was just my way of coping, but it did bring me true happiness for a long time. Even with everyone trying to pull me away from that life, as it was doomed to fail, I found the time and made my way. Bit by bit, I learned from the songs of the sea. And I found myself all the way in Nocturne, and have since tried to forget about everything from before. And yet, here I find myself, at the bottom of the ocean floor, every night in my dreams. Every night, I come closer to remembering the source of that great flash of white, the face of the one wielding that power. I wonder, for a moment, if that force was not there for the satisfaction of chivalry and good deeds, but for me.

Oh how Maria missed being able to move around freely in three dimensions. She was Anthosii to her very core, so it was nice to be wearing nothing but her scales and seashell bra. In fact it felt absolutely gorgeous to her that she simply had to revel in it. Schools of fish swam around her and she opened her mouth to speak to each one individually, going so far as giving each one names. It had been quite a while since she braved the great oceans, but with intet Swimming not farm from her she knew safety wasn't as far fetched a notion as one would expect. So Maria dove down, deeper and deeper into that most vast of wonders, the great ocean. The seafloor outside Los Anthos was alive just as her former home was. She swam through huge coral reefs that would make the Great Barrier Reef look normal. She dug herself into the sand beside a manta, who complained to her that she was going to ward off prey, but quickly shut his mouth when fish gathered to her. She didn't of course, let the ray kill any of them, but he was still pleased so much prey was around.

Intet swam much like a snake, his mighty wings unfolding only to propel him forward a bit as he exhaled small bits of ice. We have business down here, and I'd rather not tempt our little big problem too much. he telepathically told his bonded master. Maria sighed as she up rooted herself and all of the fish and crustaceans scattered. He was right, she couldn't stay long, for it was a mission that had brought her down there. A mighty flick of her tail sent her rocketing forward and she swam in a spiral around Intet as he slowly moved along, scanning the ocean floor for any wreckage that could have been down there. If the tales hold true, then the ship should be down here somewhere, Maria told him pointing behind her as she hovered in front of the dragon.

She dashed on ahead of him, scaring some of the smaller fish now, but not minding keeping the small, often hunted creatures on their toes. It wasn't long before she saw something on the ocean floor that piqued her interest. She swam to it carefully, the metalwork assuming that this had been a very fast boat once. It wasn't big enough to be what she was looking for, and far too advanced, but she wasn't deterred from it. She was highly curious to see what was inside. She pushed open a door into the yacht like quarters and swam inside. Hidden in it's chambers were not only coral, but fish seeking shelter from the outside dangers. And on the bed, tied down as if in the middle of some sexual ritual, was a skeleton. She swallowed back her apprehension curtly and examined the room, opening cabinets and drawers but finding little of any help. She apologized for interrupting the fish in their claimed home, and turned to leave the entombed vessel. She closed the door once more, even though their were more openings than that one to the room she was in, and swam around the boat. It wasn't military, and it hadn't been sunk by any weaponry from the looks of it.

Perhaps a storm had claimed it. Maybe it was sabotaged... oh the wonders she had just unlocked for herself. Intet growled impatiently. Sometimes she wondered if wrath were really just a part of him and not her until she used his power, because Intet lost his cool really quickly, even in the frigid ocean temperatures. Oh pssh, calm down you big sour pus. Maria laughed and she scooted off before he responded. Intet could only smile in a draconic way that made feeders come to clean his large, menacing dragon teeth. He kept his mouth open as he swam so they would continue as he followed Maria on her expedition. She noticed that where she was, there seemed to be a lot of ship wrecks now. These had been sunk by something though, as most of them had chunks missing, and what looked like claw marks on them. None of the ones she explored seemed big enough to be the one that allegedly held the pages she was searching for.

That was until she saw tell tell signs that something under the sea had been moved. There was a huge indent in the sand that almost went through to bedrock. This indent, even now, looked like something had been dragged out of place recently, about as recent as the newer wrecks. Maria followed the trail to a cove that was big enough to house the numerous large ships that created it. One in particular caught her eye. It was in the center of them all, long and old. It was incredible to see this area. Something had made this, something with a hoarding mind. Something that wouldn't like an outsider, even a Mer, trespassing within it's home, its treasures. Something with massive red eyes that rose from behind the very Ship Maria intended to explore. She behind a ship to keep out of sight, but there was no hope for Intet, who sensed a territorial instinct in the beast. He stood his ground, flaring his nostrils and wings at the lsightly larger creature to get it to back off. It didn't. GO FIND THE PAGES. he told his lady as he roared at the monster, who gave a similar response. This thing was some sort of water version of the Fire Dragon Fighter, complete with the sword and attitude. Intet bolted forward, Maria sneaking around to try and get close unnotived as the leviathans had it out. At one point the enemy dragon landed on his back right in front of her, but she didn't panic, instead scooting around him as he slowly got up only to be pinned and assaulted by Intet. The next sound she heard was intet being tossed into a ship by the monster, which frightened her if only for her beast's safety. As she finally was inside, Intet switched gears from distraction to killer, and Maria prayed to Solaris and Elessia for his safety.

The scene before Akeem was both terrible and beautiful. The Fronta navy was already submerged, but the signs of battle against the Anthosii was evident. Underwater explosions were sending huge gysers of water shooting into the sky and occasionally a body would float to the service. The cliffside literally shook when one of those explosions happened nearby and a submarine floated to the service. The djinn reached into his pocket and pulled out a small metallic bar with a tube attached to it. He had stopped and retrieved an item known as a rebreather, because if not Akeem would have had to literally stand on land and watch the entire fight happened. There was absolutely no way he'd accept a passive role in what was possibly the highest point in his life. Despite normally remaining very calm and never seeking glory, Akeem couldn't help but let his Djinn upbringing excite him. He was about to infiltrate a submarine for godsake, find their admiral, murder him, steal the pages, unite them, and aid in the death of Kaminae. Excitement coursed through is veins and filled him up with a burning desire to fight. A few submarines had broken the surface, and one of them had a very large sigil on the side of it. Out of every other ship in the navy this one was the most decorated. It was hanging back from the fighting and looked secure behind its wall of subs. That had to be it. "Maria, please get me close enough to that one. We have to keep it from going under." The future King of Aramil pointed out towards the ocean. He knew Kaminae would probably fight underwater, and as much as he hated to admit it he would be at a pretty big disadvantage. What he was good at was decimating people in combat though.

He would rip open the top of that thing, keeping it from safely submerging and therefore ruining his chances of securing it. Maybe Maria and her dragon-beast could harass it as well. The mayhem caused by a direct attack on the helmship would be enough to allow the Djinn to slip in relatively unnoticed. From there it was all about getting to the helm and defeating the admiral. Akeem had done his homework and actually researched subs. He had a general idea for where the important people would be. "I need you to distract the crew for me, give them hell. Once I've secured the pages I fear that the duel with the Sea Witch will rely heavily on you. I'll do what I can, but well-" Akeem gestured down to his legs meekly, pointing out that obviously he would not swim as well as a Mer. Using his force though, Akeem would be able to get around. It would be jerky and probably dangerous, but that was all he could do. He slipped the rebreather back into his pocket and nodded his head to his comrade.

It was certainly weird for Maria to be seeing a battle of such caliber occuring underwater from the surface. Intet, now clad in his own light armor seemed a bit apprehensive about the situation at hand. Maria's strength was formiddable, of course. She could decimate enemies at any range on land; in her domain no one would be able to stand against her without a high degree of difficulty. This situation, however was one hundred percent different. The entire navy of the strongest nation in the world was here in full force. Submarines attacking the entirety of the Anthosii military. No chance that Maria would be any threat to either side on her own. No it was to the three of them to infiltrate the flagship of the Fronta fleet and assassinate their admiral. This wouldn't be an easy undertaking, but it was to be Maria's final stand against the sea devil.

As Akeem spoke Maria consulted Intet as she did one last armor check. Her dragonbone armor was light and uninhibiting, in fact there was only a bra, a very sheer material made of marrow acting as a "shirt" and a sheer dress below that. Her arms had braces as well, but she was otherwise basically naked. She picked up her spear as Intet weighed their options. A body washed up at the shore and she saw the body of a young mer who had no doubt been forced into fighting by Kaminae... ruthlessly slain by those damn humans. Vashaden... she whispered in Anthosii. A harpoon had pierced his throat, straight through the front and piercing his medulla. He died instantly at least. She closed his lifeless eyes and removed the spear from his cold, weak grip. She stabbed it beside his body and whispered something to herself. This was... going to take a toll on her. But most of the mer in her path were too far gone anyway. It was time for Maria to steel herself. Here people needed freedom, even if that meant killing them.

Maria. Intet said as if apprehension had gripped him. But she cut him off as she gripped her spear. She spoke outloud, her accent lighter as she took on a much more resolved state. She had been touched by something. And whatever... whoever had done it had spoken inside of her, quelling her wrath momentarily and saying silent words of encouragement. It was as if great power had washed over her body with the sunlight and she spoke not just as herself, not just as Maria and Intet, but as a Queen in the making. The healthy sentient mind doesnt wake up in the morning thinking this is it's last day on earth... but I think that's a luxury. Not a curse. To know that we are close to the end is somewhat freeing... good time to take inventory. Outmanned, outgunned on a suicide mission... but the sand and seas here will remember us. For out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. A powerful leap put her on Intet's back, the dragon moving a finger to lift Akeem to his seat as well. We move forward like a breath exhaled from mother Ocean with one goal in mind. We will kill Kaminae. Intet Roared, his back arching, prompting Akeem to hold on and putting Maria in battle mode as he leaped forward with one flap of his wings, diving into the sea.

A few minutes into their decent Maria let go of Intet's body, her legs already molded into a tail fin, small dorsal fins growing on her arms as well. The Morph was near instant, but every bit of it made Maria feel more powerful. Though she knew it was not the time for such thoughts, she couldn't help but feel beautiful. Intet was moving slow enough that Akeem wouldn't have a hard time managing, and she was easily able to keep up with them. She looked back to Akeem and gave a thumbs up. One final notion. The battle was in sight now, more than just floating bodies of both human and mer. She could see it all. Mer attacking ships with powerful magical attacks and hit and run style tactics. As far as the many Mer Dragoon knew another one of them had joined the frey. Maria thanked the gods for that. Smaller dragons avoided Intet altogether, and Akeem would be largely unnoticed. She avoided harpoon fire easily. No trouble for the Mer at all in fact. Intet kept akeem clear by holding up a hand to deflect the harpoons altogether. Maria! The flagship! It is there among the others. We need to break through that spot. She spotted the wall of ships surrounding the flagship on all sides like a puffer fish with energy holding them perfectly still and she slowed her approach. She used her spear to deflect the harphoons, moving around in quick jets to avoid being shot. Follow my lead! she said as energy welled up in her body. A sphere made of Ice surrounded her and Intet understood immedately what he was to do. With a mighty roar he fired a blast of icy breath that froze around the ice and shot it forward, making Maria an icy mortar shell. She tore straight through their line of magical defense, destroying only the first ship she hit and then causing the formation to crumble just as she figured. Intet cranked it up to eleven, diving their line and pushing through without causing too much damage and keeping the spot where Akeem was safe. He would get as close to the spot Maria landed as possible for Akeem. Maria worked with him, turning her Glass ball into a large platform for Akeem to step off of not far from the small but large enough dent she'd made, and then swimming clear of his path. She could only hope that this worked. Akeem had better be, because Intet thrusted himself forward to Launch him at the block and then turned around to slow down his speed enough using his wings and roared again, this time in challenge.

The Djinn was absolutely rooted on the spot as he watched the pain in Maria's eyes. His mouth hung open a bit and he felt something well up in his throat. How had he disregarded the emotion that people were feeling? There were plenty of Mer in Aramil, Mer who didn't follow Kaminae and wanted to see her dead just as he did. But his reasons never took in what the people were feeling. In Akeem's mind, all there was were the crunching of numbers, the growth of the nation. Tears stung his eyes and not a hint of shame was on his face. What type of King would he be if he could not even see past glory? Nails dug into flesh as Akeem clenched his fists, hard enough to make himself bleed. His teeth ground together and he shut his eyes. Already he had failed West.

Drops falling free from his eyes, the destined King gazed out across the waters with renewed sight. The Mer were being torn apart over their beliefs, and literally by the Fraxen navy. When Maria launched into her speech there were no words for the Djinn to add. He looked upon her with a fiery passion burning brightly as Solonor's Light. In this moment there was no one else he would rather be fighting with. Using a grace gained over years of training, Akeem leaped onto Intent and held fast onto his body. When the mighty beast shot into the air off of the cliff Akeem hastily shoved the rebreather into his mouth, steeling his body for the inevitable crash into the sea. The impact was incredible but Intet took the brunt of it smoothly for them and before Akeem knew it things were happening. There was a cold efficiency between the Mer and her bondmate, something Akeem had once felt between his brothers and even his children. He silently clutched at his chest, at the one thing that had given him something more than just being a soldier.

Akeem's focus quickly shifted to the actual battle at hand. Here under the amazingly clear water he could see it all. Devastation was everywhere and it only served to fuel the flame burning in his heart. These were men and women fighting over their beliefs, no matter how skewed or wrong they seemed to him. In the back of his mind Akeem recalled his own false belief in that of the glory of Kala and the demons who served her. West had lifted the veil and exposed him to a truth he had not seen before. For awhile Akeem had felt lost and unsure of himself. For all his near two hundred years of existence he had lived upholding simple values. His family, his religion, and his honor. That was all that had really mattered. With his family and honor taken, religion was really all he had. It wasn't that Akeem was angry with West, it was quite the opposite. The desire demon who was much more than that alone gave him something else to live for. Maybe there would be hope to repair the impending trouble with the Anthosii once Kaminae was dead. Akeem would see to that if possible.

Maria was hard at work crashing through the net-like array of subs around the flagship. Akeem could feel the power radiating off of her and knew there was no room for error here. Getting the picture fairly quickly, he put his legs under him and clutched tightly to the sea beast as it twirled and twisted in the water. The platform was in sight and then Akeem was off. He shot through the sea like a missile. Being the fighter he was the Djinn was in great control of his body. Shifting the center of gravity within him he flipped and tucked into a ball, falling now right for the ball of ice. Just before impact Akeem unfolded and fell into a roll, absorbing the shock with his Force and sprinting the length of the sub to the little hatch he had spotted from the cliff face.

His first challenge was met almost instantly. The thing was sealed from the inside. Punching or kicking the metal would only serve to damage Akeem, so instead he rolled his shoulders and grasped the lid from different sides, bracing himself against the sub. He took in a breath and then pulled with all his might, letting his Force seep into him and strengthened him. Every muscle in his body seemed to flex with the pressure that had been put on him. Akeem grunted through the strain and then with a savage war cry accompanied by the shriek of metal rang out. He tossed the hatch lid into the water, not bothering to watch it sink and instead choosing to jump right in. Akeem landed with a very soft thud and with one quick scan of the area he was sprinting towards the helm.Submarines for the most part were very easy to traverse. There were really only a few directions to go in and signs were everywhere. Akeem was only slowed down when he needed to allow a passing guard to move on. His infiltration had gone largely unnoticed as there was the proverbial 'bigger fish to fry'. The Djinn rounded a corner and immediately shot an arm out, wrapping his toned limb around the neck of a sailor and tightening it rapidly. His other hand covered the man's mouth as Akeem dragged him into a dark room, squeezing just enough life out of him to render the guy unconscious. That was too close. One slip up and Akeem's job here would increase in difficulty. He continued on, taking a steep set of stairs to another level and finally seeing his goal.

There was an opening into the room that held what looked like some sort of radar systems (which Akeem only recognized thanks to his time spent with Russel) and combat systems as well. Energy coursed through Akeem as he gained his second wind. The place was packed with people, but one man stood out from the others. He wore a uniform decorated with all sorts of badges and trinkets, clearly looking to assert his dominance over the others. The Djinn stepped over the threshold and suddenly all eyes were on him. It was as if the entire room tensed and froze. Akeem's molten gold eyes were locked on the Admiral's and he was pleased when a jolt of fear was reflected back at him. And then there was chaos. Men and women alike jumped up from their seats and fumbled with basic weaponry. It was clear to the Djinn then that this naval force probably lacked training in physical combat. He couldn't help but let a smile spread to his face. He sank into a sort of hunched over crouch, arms crossed before him as the ranks closed in on him. Then in a blast Akeem sprang forward as if he was an arrow shot from a bow. From the left of sword came down and it felt to the Djinn that he was seeing these things happen in slow motion. It was an affect of the adrenaline flowing rapidly throughout him. He dipped to the right and immediately shifted himself with the force, dodging another strike. Some sort of shield expanded around him and halted any other attack, allowing him to continue his headlong attack. Akeem felt like another man as he heard a feral cry tear from his lips timed with the thrust of his punch. It connected with the Admiral's chest, and then with the look of a sonic boom the man exploded backward. He flipped over the table that he had been standing in front of and met the wall with enough force to dent the metal. He immediately fell slack against the floor, blood pooling around him. Akeem whirled around to see stunned faces staring back at him, arms and weapons frozen in almost comical states.

His chest rose and fell rapidly as his eyes darted back and forth through the room. No one seemed willing to test their might against the man who had literally caved in the Admiral's chest and sent him flying as if he had been hit by a truck. Akeem's stance relaxed ever so slightly, and he allowed himself to take in the room once more. The table the Admiral had flipped over had been littered with pages and a single bound leather book. The writing on the cover of it was something the Djinn recognized from his frequent outings. This was the book that held Kaminae's demise. He picked it up and shoved it in his vest, bothering to actually close the garment now to keep it safe. When Akeem stepped towards the exit the crowd backed away, and as an after thought he turned towards the many technological marvels around him. A part of him was sad to have to do this, but knew it was necessary. Akeem took the time to savagely beat the machines until they were mostly unusable. Then without a second glance he darted back through the sub and climbed out of the top.

"Maria! Intet!" Akeem shouted at the top of his lungs, his accent making their names sound much more exotic than they were. He dare not jump into the water now for fear of damaging the book. The Djinn had no magic capable of shielding the remaining pages and needed Maria to unite them. From there they both knew what came next. The ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny.

Maria could only hope that Akeem would have success, but she had caused a massive powershift in causing the flagship to be infiltrated and its protective shell array to be penetrated. The mer forces were swarming, literally decimating the scattered ships. No was the time for Maria to strike with her bretheren, if only for the moment. Intet was prepared for the assault, but he knew all too well the dilemma his rider faced. West had asked her not to destroy the navy, and though they were strong her momentary interuption had proved to be a good foothold for the Anthosii to assault them. Maria watched as dragoons and mages alike took advantage of the confusion, a few unwary ones giving Maria praise as she and intet floated away from the ship and avoided becoming casualties in the chaos. This was good. No. This was not.

She was split on the matter.

On the one hand if she were to press the assault with the Mer she would be able to do enough damage that the Fronta fleet would be crippled for the remainder of the battle. This would also save the Anthosii army from a crippling blow to their pride. You see, this battle meant a lot for all parties involved. Aramil needed this claim of glory, the triumvirate needed to be seen as the ones who caused this win. Maria, Akeem, and West. Not Fronta. But should Fronta succeed Los Anthos would be annihilated and that nation would become invulnerably powerful in the eyes of the world. That could not happen! But should Kaminae win... one could only guess. In moments, the Anthosii lead would be lost as Fronta recovered and pressed a counterattack. Even though Akeem was causing chaos in the Flagship, Los Anthos could not stand against the tech and magical abilities of Fronta. And a stalemate would be disastrous for the navy as Kaminae would be there soon.

Maria! Make a decision! I will not act without your approval. Maria made the decision. With a heavy heart she turned to the Los Anthos forces,. We cannot allow them to destroy any more ships, or Kaminae will have too much ground. So she grabbed her spear, coiled her fin, and shot forward like a spear, sailing right through a sea dragon and her confused Rider. Life receeded from his body, but Maria steeled herself as she yanked the weapon free and cleansed her body of her dragon's blood. She could feel a certain switch in her mind flip as she did what needed doing. She easily dispatched mer troops. Sailing through the sea like knife through butter. Carving apart dragon bodies while Intet dealt with similar threats to himself in very visceral, brutal ways. They made a show of it to distract their forces even more. Huge blasts of ice, wings and limbs torn off of weak bodies... the sight was truly one to behold. And then Maria and Intet came together, her holding his spines tightly as he grasped the neck of a dragon similar to his age and size. On his back was a rider around Maria's age, maybe a bit older, but a high rank in the military.

He squeezed and dug his nails into it's next, but it fought back hard. Maria knew intet would hold out so long as she kept the rider from interfering. As they thrashed about Intet noticed a ship lined up to attack them both, two birds one stone style. Maria was micro managing water manipulation, making the steely toughness of her own manipulated water cut into the eyes of the enemy mer, though his defense was good, the water around him brotecting his body from her assault while she did the same. Intet jerked backwards suddenly, only still holding the other dragons arm as the large harpoon sailed onwards, severing said arm but not touching the clever beast. As it cried in pain the other Dragoon was distracted, giving maria ample time to end his life with a stab of icy water to the heart.

As he died Maria did all she could not to realize how much the boy favored her brother. How she had just killed some young mers older brother; someones love. Someone's child. Another notch in her belt. Akeem's cry was heard through her sensitive ears and she prayed this was what she needed to stop Kaminae. Intet bolted for the surface, gone as fast as the flurry of death had arrived. Maria, her legs regrown, leaped from the ocean and over the top of the naval ship ahead of Intet, landing after a few aerial somersaults with a graceful thump, blood running off of her along with water. What is it? Do you have the book? she asked as the tainted girl reached the Hatch and offered a helping hand out of the hatch.

Throughout the battle, Fable had been maneuvering between weapons of war through sea and sky to get the best view of it all. The turning of the tides, as Aramil infiltrated Fronta's flagship. The sudden surge of Mer as they initiated their attack. Fable burned it all into memory, her mind already stringing together broken pieces of lyrics she could use to retell the story.

Of course, she paid the most attention to three individuals in particular, the djinn named Akeem, the Mer named Maria, and the dragon named Intet. These three, Fable had no doubt, would be the shakers of the world should they win this fight. Alas, when Akeem infiltrated the ship, Fable could no longer keep tabs on him, so she instead focused on Maria and Intet. From a distance, mingling with the rest of the chaos, she watched them freeze and then suddenly charge their brethren. Fable eyes shone as she quickened her pace to discreetly follow Maria into the thick of the mer. She did not fear attack here, either. Fable's kind had long held friendly relations with the Mer. So long as she did not show any aggression to the forces of Los Anthos, they were more likely to assume she was their ally than not. the Siren mused over the betrayal as she followed.

"The spear of betrayal under the sea.
A hero turned enemy."
Fable sung to herself in a soft murmur as she maneuvered through the waters.
