I met an eternal senshi.

Caleb shot up like a rocket. Eternal senshi outranked Makayla-as-Euclase by two at the very least, and even he, as a Super, avoided Eternals like the plague whenever possible. "'Kayla, I..." he started, leaning in to touch her forehead to his and to look directly into her blue eyes. "...I'm just glad you weren't outright killed. You know how vicious they could be. And did you have any backup? Was she threatening you or something? Was she following you?" Surely Makayla had a damned good reason to power up when a White Moon Senshi was around. He trusted her judgment and was incredibly relieved when she came home in one piece even though he would have been none the wiser had she not said anything.

When his fiancee started explaining about traveling to space, Caleb was frightened, intrigued and suspicious all in one. "Are you... sure she's not lying to you? People can't go into space, Makayla, except if they're strapped to rocket ships... and part of NASA." Deep down, Caleb was wondering whether or not this White Moon senshi was lying to Euclase, giving her ideas about space travel to lure her to her doom. He wouldn't stand for it. "How do you know she's not just saying that, Makayla? What we saw was... it was horrible. I'm glad she didn't attack you, I just..."

There were only a handful of ways to prove whether or not this senshi was lying, and he didn't like any of the options. "...I just..." Sure, Caleb had his reservations about the Negaverse, Bischofite being the biggest part of that, but he still wasn't sure the White Moon was to be trusted. "...what's her name? Who is she? If she invites you into space and you disappear forever, I'd going to hunt her down and make her regret it for the rest of eternity."

The redhead was beyond serious - losing Makayla was tantamount to ending his own life. He couldn't go on without her.

Caleb leaned into her touch, wishing that they could fall asleep and wake up and all of this would have been a dream. All that mattered to him was her touch, her scent, her warmth and presence. Above all, he was relieved to know she'd made it out alive and hoped she never ran across another White Moon Senshi. Even with his own reservations about the Negaverse, other White Mooners might not understand and could attack without a second thought.

"Space? What if you never come back, Makayla? What if she beams you up there or something and I never see you again?" The redhead rested his head on Makayla's shoulder, hoping she'd come to her senses. She was always the independent sort and what she was proposing seemed nothing short of insane. "...what guarantee do you have that she'll bring you back? I mean, you can't fight an Eternal Senshi, Makayla, but..."

He looked away then, sitting up and shifting. "...I don't like what happened to Alkaid. That can't be right... I don't want anything like that happening to you." Caleb sighed, taking his head in his hands. This was treasonous, this conversation, and he sincerely hoped none of their superiors had planted bugs in the apartment. "...but if you don't think your name is Euclase, then... then I believe you."

Caleb listened with his eyes closed tight, knowing full well if they were caught, they would probably be executed. The utmost caution should be taken, no matter what. No matter what, they had to survive. "...yes, I want to know now too. Is my name supposed to be Carnelian? Why are our names like gems but everyone else has a moon or a star? Even some of the other Negaverse senshi, like Alkaid... Hers isn't a mineral, it's a star, I think. But... why?"

In the back of his mind, he always wondered about that - why were some named after minerals and others were named for stars? Was there any reason? His own fear held him back from ever asking, wondering if simply seeking that answer was treasonous in and of itself.

With a sigh, he leaned back into the couch. "How's about this - we leave the whole space issue for another day and watch a movie and pretend like everything is normal...?"
