Smoke shook her head. "Come on, if she was going to eat us it'd make more sense to do it when she was... the cat-thing. Maybe she just wants to be friends but isn't exactly the best at social skills."

She gave the kiokote another surreptitious wink. "I could always tutor her. For a... small price, of course. I'm very good at social skills."

"Well, I'm usually okay at socializing, just I wasn't really planning on this encounter turning out this way..." Starburst trailed off before being given her opening. "Well, and that's what I'm actually here for."

"Congratulations on the forthcoming babies. Is there anything in particular you're hoping for them?" She asked this with a plea in her voice. She was just a little confused and little intimidated in this situation.

"Wellll, if they weren't so heavy. My stomach's, like, dragging the ground here. Oh, you mean, for when they're born?" Here Smoke got dreamy-eyed. "Well, I'd like for them to be super awesome. I want them to be so cool that everyone loves them forever. And... well I hope they have good hair. If there's one good thing about me it's my hair." She smiled in a very vain manner.

"And never take s**t from anyone," Ash muttered, though it was clear their upbringing would take care of that. It would be a wonder if any of them made it to adulthood without storming out of the clearing in a rage, fully intent on never returning.

Usually Starburst might ask for more, but in this specific instance she wasn't sure if they would give her any more without chasing her out of the clearing.

"Well, may your children never be afraid to do what they think is best and your pregnancy go well.

And to say that she fled would be incorrect, but she did jump into the tree behind her with remarkable speed, shifting into a cheetah and disappearing into the leaves.
