My Mum had carpel tunnel, although they originally mistook it for Tennis Elbow. She got given one of the wrist braces that everyone here has recommended and was told that under no circumstances should she lift anything that weighed more than a few pounds. My 5 year old brother was having trouble at school so my Mum kept picking him to cuddle him even though he was VERY heavy and the doc said that that was probably what caused it.

In the end me and my Dad both split the heavy chores between us so I would unload the dishwasher and he would carry the hoover and the washing baskets upstairs if my Mum needed them. 2 weeks later she was much better. She still gets twinges but all she does is sleep with the brace on for a few nights and it wears off.

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrom when I was 15... they called it Childhood CTS though...it was because when I was in school they insisted on teaching typing starting at age 7... which they no longer do for this exact reason. So I've suffered for 4 years, and the water retention of being pregnant has caused it to become more servere. But I recommend the braces with the magnets in them that are used for arthritis... they work very well.

You also said you're on respiritory meds... what kind? Becasue my flovent, serevent, and prednisone sometimes caused flair ups because of the steriods... and sometimes my advair does too.. So if you are on a steriod for you respiratory problems... the meds may not be helping any with the CTS.
