"Will do" she said as she made quick work with the sap sealing up as much as she could with what she had before badly hacking at it again to get more out to finish the job on the ceiling "i think im done, not sure if its good or not because i have never done anything like this before" she said as she finished up one last bit of the ceiling before jumping down, now with sticky hands. How does that look?" She asked as she looked at her ...handy work? "Im sorry if some parts dont look stronger then others but they are only ants, how much can they eat before their full? And if we need bananas to eat or even for something else we best ration them, who knows how long we are in here for" she said as she wished there was somewhere she could was her hands.

Carefully examining her handy work, he nodded approvingly. "Not bad, not bad at all." For the last corner, he stuck his torn up pack to hold the blanket down. With the torn up banana taken back, he opened it and gave her half. "Agreed. We should eat this one not to waste it. We haven't eaten in hours." And all that running no doubt used a good chunk of energy. He popped his half of the banana in his mouth and picked up his basket again before taking the lit torch off the wall. "Hey, I think I see my med kit ahead." He started walking towards it, and scooped it off the ground. "We can treat our bites so they don't get infected. After putting some distance between us and our friends." They were down a bandanna, solar blanket, and his shovel just from the bugs, and they were no closer to getting out. He looked down the hallway as he took a deep breath and continued down.OOC: Ooo, mysterious room of mystery behind a spiked gate. Sounds charming XD

Lira ate her half they went and when Kaiden said he saw his medic kit she almost danced, the thought of getting her bites seen to sounded like heaven at this present time "thank goodness! I could do with some good news before moving on" she said clutching her basket tight with one hand and grabbed hold of Kaidens hand, just wanting to make sure he was still with her. Sure it sounded odd but after what they just went through and not knowing what could happen here she was scared she was going to lose him and if she kept hold of him she felt she wouldnt, silly as that tlhought was it gave her a little bit of comfort and right now she needed it. Abd ageed, big mysterious room does sound rather fun. XD

When she grabbed his hand, the male stopped to look at her. In all the excitement, he hadn't really thought about just how brave she was being. One of her first excursions outside of her Tree home, and she was really keeping it together. Kaiden pulled the female into a warm hug, wanting to comfort her. "We'll set up camp soon and clean up. I'm didn't get the chance to say so before, but I'm so glad that you're alright." If he had woken up with her missing, he'd be completely beside himself. Her blood would be on his hands. He stepped back and took her hand again before resuming walking. The pace was much easier now, and he could take the time to examine the various markings on the wall. Pictures, like eyeballs and a dog head. But the meaning was completely lost on him. Where were they exactly? He took a deep breath and hoped he had taken the right direction when they had fled. And there are my flares. He scooped them up with his torch hand, and plopped them back into his basket. That was everything, except his lantern. The faun continued, eventually catching sight of a glint up ahead. A...door? Which meant an unknown section. He stopped, flashing a smile at the female. "Lets break out the med kit here." Originally he wanted to find a good place to make camp first, but the hallway was safe. For now. And the unknown room with a dim light in it? That was anyones guess.

Lira blushed as he hugged her and hugged back and spoke up after what he said "im glad you are ok also, believe me though im still scared but i think the adrenalin of being scared and being here has made me a little braver but also because i have youu which is most important" she said as she nodded about the camp and let him go, loving the comfort but also they did need camp. Holding his hand she looked at the walls with him but not making any sense of the drawings either and when camp was mentioned she couldn't help but feel relieved a bit, hoping...wait, what was that? She wasnt paying attention before since she had Kaidens comfort and Kaidens hand in hers, all other stuff, since they were safe for the time being, seemed insignificant and she could rest a little but this gate she was now looking straight at made her let go of Kaidens hand and start to go towards it. Reaching iy she felt it, looking it over and saw that there was only a hole big enough for one Pae and as she thought about a few things but one thing came to mind was Arik, if she went through he would have his father to look after him so at least thats something. "Kaiden" she called as she turned around and walked back to her best friend and picked up his hands, the second thought she thought of was him and his friendship, her life wasnt worth anything here so she didnt care to think about her own well being as she stayed in her room and not socialize, she wasnt worth much to the Fauns, heck, besides Rais maybe knowing she is part of his Faun community she was pretty much an unknown but kaiden, he was a great hunter and would be missed unlike her. "Kaiden, that gate has one hole big enough for one pae and that Pae is going to be me, i dont know if im going to live or die but i do know that i am not needed here and you are. I sit in my room and not contribute to the Faun community but you are a great hunter and if you go and die it wont be good if they lost your skill so thats why im going through that gate and you are not going to change my mind" She was stubborn when she wanted to be. The tears started to flow silently down her cheeks as she started again "so yes, i am talking about this as i im going to die because if i dont have high expectations then i wont be dissapointed but what i want to say i will say it now just in case anything happens and i dont return." Lira took a deep breath and let it out "kaiden, i have never had a friend like you, kind, true, trustworthy, handsome, i am honoured and proud to call you my closest and best friend. But you have been the third greatest thing to happen to me, you come after Arik and Lady Artemis, sorry" she said lamely jokingly as she smiled through her tears a little before going back to serious face "please take care of Arik, remind him that i loved him and cared for him and kiss his head every morning, he snuggles into me afterwards for morning cuddles. And on the day you finally met her, because i know you will, thank Lady Artemis for me, thank her for everything shes given me, i truly appreciate it. But there is one last thing... there is one last important thing i need to tell you and thats..." she paused as more tears flowed harder before she started again "i have a crush on you, i couldnt help it but the more time we spent together the more i couldnt help but start to like you. I just wanted no regrets " she said as she lent in and kissed his cheek "goodbye, kaiden, i may be back but if im not then thank you for being the one beautiful constant in my life" she said as she hugged him quickly and let him go before she changed her mind and headed to the gate, drying her eyes as she went, what she was going to do she had to be brave! Or at least pretend she was. OOC: not as sappy as i can usually make it but it will do, hospital+high drugs don't work great for ones mind. XD

When the female let go to get a better look, he took a torch off the wall and replaced it with his burning one. He then set the unlit torch on the ground so he could focus on the medkit. As he pawed through his basket, he heard his name. "Hmm?" His silver eyes flicked up and he let her take his hands, albeit confusedly. Unfortunately, he was only going to get more lost as she began one of her famous ramblings. Going through the gate? His gaze flicked to it, finally noting the small size. What was she talking about? If she really wanted to go first, that was okay. He'd be right behind her. "Why would you die?" He looked back at her face and felt his eyebrows twitch in surprise. She was crying! "Why are you talking like I'm never going to see you again? I'm sure there's nothing to be worried about!" It was just a doorway. An incredibly small doorway, but there was nothing immediately alarming about it. Wait. He was below a rabbit? He deeply frowned when she started talking about taking care of Arik for her. She truly believed there was something horrible in that room. Did she see something in it that he didn't? If she was that worried about it, he should be the one to go through first. "Lira, I'm going to be right there. With you. I'm not going to let anything happen to you." ...Crush? She... That alone froze him in his tracks. He wasn't sure that any female had ever liked him that way. Then again, he was rather dense. Most of her jokes flew over his head. But he didn't have time to think. She was heading towards the gateway. "Hey! Lira! Your cuts!" He reached up to grab the lit torch from the wall and started running after her. What was this girl thinking, going into an unknown room without him? SHOOM! Click. He slammed into the bars before he realized what happened. They had been so close to the doorway, she had reached it in no time. She had been right! How did she know they'd be separated? "Thicklethorns." Kaiden cursed, the normally gentle pae angered by his lack of foresight. If his mother had heard, she'd wash his mouth out.

It wasnt that Lira knew but a feeling she had, this strange place almost got them eaten alive and now we see this gate with one tiny small hole that fit one pae, the ants might have been something that came with the place but this one hole fits one didnt feel right and given the place she was in then obviously nothing was going to sit right with her till she was out of this scary place. As the gate slammed shut behind her she looked around "Kaiden, I promise to try and make it back to you and Arik" she called "im sorry to be such a downer before but this place scares me so hence why i feel like im going to die here, the ante nearly did us in, who knows what else is lurking in here or what secrets this place has. I still stand by what i say, whatever happens thank you for everything but I now need to go, goodbye Kaiden, hope to see you soon." She said as she started walking away and looked around at where she was and started humming a tune to herself, something she heard Faun singing once when she had gone to the kitchen for a snack and it had stayed with her ever since and when she got scared and was by herself she would be comforted by it. Now, the two questions were where was she? And what was going to happen to her? She didnt know why she still had her basket when the plants would be better of with Kaiden to take home . Oh well, she clung to her basket and hated being here, whoever or whatever was going to kill her she was pretty much a sitting duck right now and with no protection and just tried to examine what she could, see if there was any clue that may help her..

The gate slamming shut triggered two events:
1. Inside the room Lira was in, the dim light grew brighter, illuminating the whole room. The light was coming from no where in particular, which should be Lira's first red flag. The room itself used to be sleeping quarters of some kind. Further inspection would indicate that it belong to someone of high birth, as some of the fancy fabrics were still identifiable. Mostly, everything is covered in dust and cobwebs and the cloths were mostly eaten away or decayed. The wooden furniture had seen better days, before the termites found it. Upon the broken nightstand is faerie Pae'il circlet, and leaning against the broken four-poster is a faerie staff. The fact that these items are still in the room indicates that whoever slept here either left in a hurry, or never left at all. There are no other doors in this room. However there are windows with intricate stained glass scenarios depicting Faerie Pae'il, and what appears to be royalty. Some of the windows are broken, and soil has spilled through, indicating that this room was once above ground, but somehow became buried.
2. Kaiden would hear the sound of stone scratching against stone as something behind him started to move. The ants also were only temporarily stopped by the roadblock, as the pair of Faun had grossly underestimated the ambition of an army of ants. If there's even a pinhole, they can get through. Just as the ants breached the blanket, a stone stairway lowered from the ceiling, completely sealing off the hallway, and essentially saving Kaiden's life. At the top of the stairway, should Kaiden choose to leave Lira, is a large, round room surrounded by window. Some of the glass had broken, letting the soil outside spill in. But some of the glass remained intact. There were scrolls rolled up and piled on short shelves, parchments and quills scattered about. But the most significant item in this room was the giant telescope that extended through the golden domed ceiling. Soil was spilling between the gaps and crevices, but not so much as to completely hide the telescope. Looking through the telescope will reveal more soil, but there will be a spec of light, showing sky above.

Lira stopped in the middle of the room and looked around slowly and a bit more properly and noticing now that the light source was nowhere to be found which she found strange but for the time being she put it to the back of her mind and her curiosity wanted to learn more of who could of been here "what stories do you hold?" She asked the room, walking over to some of the fabrics and picked them up, dusting them off as best she could and felt them. The fabric was sort of soft to the touch and yet the days of this fabric being useful was now over and when it was useful she was certain it would have been beautiful but now its ruined thinks to time and bugs and whatever else "come on, please, tell me what you hide, what is your story?" Lira moved over to a piece of old dusty furniture and knelt down and started to wipe away some of dust and cobwebs, sneezing a couple of times thanks to the dust, when she had finished she got up and admired it "you would of been beautiful yourself back when you were new and termites hadn't gotten to you but now you, like everything else here, have long since past your glory days which is sad" she sadly sighed as she turned around to look at the other side of the room, eyes falling on the staff and then something else, walking over to it she picked it up and started to examine them both and she didn't know who they belonged to but the more she spent in this place the more she truly wished she knew the story about this place and why this staff and circlet were left here, the fabric was one thing but why something special like the staff and circlet?

The male was understandably angry at the trap, but there was no time to stew. Something was stirring behind him. He immediately started touching the golden bricks surrounding the gate in an attempt to find some switch, some hidden mechanism to open the gate back up. But as the clock ticked, nothing came to light. He was stuck, and he knew that gate could only buy time. If he couldn't go further, he'd be overrun. "I'll be back Lira." He spoke, but she had already walked deeper into the room. Outside of his vision. He took up his torch and basket, and started back towards the ants. At least, I hope I'll be back. His choices were simple. Wait until the ants found him, or run into the ants with his torch. Perhaps if he was fast enough, he could simply run through to the other side. That was his hope. And maybe, just maybe down the other end of the hallway there was something to get both him and Lira out. He didn't dare think what made the grinding sound. But it looked like that already revealed itself. Incredibly, instead of seeing his solar blanket shield there was...a staircase. He wasn't much one for climbing up mysteriously appearing stairs but he only had two choices. Sit and wait for Lira to open the gate, or be proactive about it. Kaiden took one last look back in the direction of the female before starting up.
What awaited him shouldn't have been surprising, as literally everything up until that point had been. Eventually things should just stop being shocking. But right above their heads had been this study, for lack of a better word. In the flickering light of his torch he could see scrolls and paper, and a giant...tube thing. At least, that was what he could make out. The device was almost buried with soil. From what he could tell with the windows, the building was obviously underground. But it hadn't always been that way. The faun walked over to it to start pawing away the dirt. His intention wasn't to completely clear it, but do just enough to get a real sense of the thing. What it was wasn't apparent to him -he was just a hunter- but it was easily the largest thing in the room. Obviously there was some sort of significance to it.

Lira tried to wipe some of the grime off the staff and circlet to try and get a better picture of it but as much as she tried some just wouldn't come off so she sighed and gave up and put the circlet into the basket and carried the staff with her, looking around she moved over to the windows and looked them over, reaching her non filled hand out and touched the stained glass, looking the pictures over she noticed...a Fairy? She moved on and saw another scene of what looked like some sort of leader? Maybe a king? Lira looked back at the room and wondered over to the bed and sat down upon it, thinking of what she saw and then down at the staff and circlet "well, I guess you two really DO have a story to tell don't you? You once belonged to a king, but what happened to have him leave you?" She sat a bit more comfortably on the bed and and placed the basket, circlet and staff upon it, if she was going to be stuck here a while she might as well make herself comfortable. Lira started to just look around the room, thinking of what could be there that (A) can get her out, a trigger or switch or SOMETHING that would open the door and (B) she wanted to know more about what happened here, why the King or Queen had left in a hurry but as she thought about the situation she yawned, after he hike in the jungle and the running of the ants she had started to slow down and that meant her being fatigued was catching up with her and given there was a bed here she decided, as gross as it was, she would catch a few winks, nothing else to do, she couldn't leave so she decided to just try her best to snuggle down on the dust filled pillow and blankets and try and get some sleep.

In the room where Lira is trapped, a terrible tragedy occurred. Something so horrific that it trapped the victim's spirit. In the bed where Lira slumbers, the Summer Queen's only daughter was brutally murdered in her sleep. The crime was never solved because political issues distracted the Faerie Pae'il's attention.
The room grew cold and the smell of rotten meat filled the air. The air got heavy, and hard to breathe.
If Lira had removed the cover on the bed, she would have seen the blood stain on the sheets. Fresh as if the terrible crime had only been committed yesterday.
With grotesque, exaggerated features, and billowing robes, the spirit of the princess hovered over Lira, reaching out to touch the features on the being she'd never seen before. A being that invaded her chamber. A being that could join her and her companions in the afterlife. A hand with thin, bony fingers reached for Lira's neck, wanting to choke the life out of her and let the girl join the princess in her eternal prison.
((It's up to you, Naf, how Lira deals with this. I do expect the reaction and solution to be at least believable. She cannot escape the room, as the release for the gate is located outside of the room.))
The room that Kaiden entered is the Summer Princess's observatory. She had a great love of the stars and studied them constantly. Her telescope reached far beyond the level underground and might provide a way out of the buried palace.
There is a brazier outside of the room, but it is unlit. Recall the hole in the wall towards the ceiling where the ants came from. There is an algae lighter in the hole.
((As the scenario stated, there is an algae-fueled lighter in the same hole the ants came from. Kaiden has the choice of escaping via the telescope, or finding the lighter to light the brazier in hopes of opening the golden gate. The challenge for Kaiden is that he must find a way to get the stairway to lift so he can back track. He must also deal with the ants still.
If he chooses to escape: the telescope is big enough he can fit inside to climb to the top and pop the lens out. ))

As Lira had an uneasy slumber she woke up only to find herself about to be touched by something that would have only appeared in her nightmares, the features made her sick and if she could she would have vomited because the rotting meat smell REALLY didn't help any either and as she tried to let out a scream it was stifled, realizing now that breathing wasn't so easy anymore so she just backed away from the ghost as fast as possible, falling off the bed in the process before moving herself to as far away from the ghost as she possibly could. Maybe what she told Kaiden would be true after all, as she tried to look away from the hideious sight that was in front of her she couldn't, it was like a wreck, you couldn't bare to look at it and yet you didn't want to advert your eyes and in Liras case she feared that if she did she would be dead so looking on as a terribly scared little Faun she watched and waited for whatever would happen next, silently wishing Kaiden was with her or, better yet, she was at home, safe and sound with Arik, a muffin and just lazying around on her bed with her baby boy, not here with a spirit that intends on probably killing her.

All his digging hadn't unearthed what the long tube was however, no matter how much soil he clawed away. He frowned and started walking around it, inspecting, pondering. The end closest to the ground had a hole, and the end of it disappeared into another hole. Kaiden brought his face to the peephole, a silver eye looking into it's depths. Unsurprisingly, there was darkness. Surprisingly...there was a light. He quickly straightened to gawk at the end of the telescope. That wasn't just any light. He had seen the blue of the sky. If he could get to the other end somehow, that might be the best way out.
He had to get Lira to it. Any other option hadn't even appeared in his mind. He had to get the gate open, grab Lira, and climb the tube to safety. Only there were quite a few large problems in the way. The room didn't hold anything that looked like a switch or button to open the gate, meaning he still had to get down the hall. Only there was a huge stairway in the way. Even if he managed to somehow get it to magically go back up again, there were the thousands of meat-hungry ants waiting for him. He'd have to somehow eliminate them. Even if it meant disappointing Lira and killing the colony.
The gate and stairway were obviously a part of the design of the building. They had to be created, magic aside. Perhaps in one of the scrolls there was mention of how to lift the stair case. He looked around the room to see if there were any additional torches to provide ample lighting for his reading. Nothing jumped out at him. He moved to leave the room to fetch another torch. This isn't a torch... It was larger than a normal torch, thus providing a better light for his reading. He wasted no time in shoving his flame into it's depths.
Only, nothing happened.
He shifted it to try another patch, perhaps a drier patch, that would allow the flame to catch. But it didn't. With a deep frown he pulled his torch back. Was there something wrong with his flame, or something wrong with the fuel inside the brazier? A bit unnerved, he retreated back to the room without a second torch. Instead he simply held his close to his body as he took down a scroll.
More of those blasted strange symbols from on the wall of the hallway below. He looked around at the piles of parchment and scrolls, practically useless to him. Except maybe he could use them to burn his ant problem. Throwing balls of flame at the ants would work better than swinging a fire on a stick. Still, neither seemed quick and efficient in the light of the sheer mass of ants below. In any case, he had to think of a method of getting rid of the ants before figuring out how to lift the staircase.

Lira took a few deep breaths as best as she could and concentrated on the specter in front of her and as much as she wanted to just look away she couldn't but also didn't want to either and besides that, the grotesque features were actually starting to not look so bad, the first initial sighting, sure, but now, after she had stared at her for a while wasn't too hard for her to do so. Lira swallowed hard and looked sadly though concerned at the other, realizing she was the royal from the stained glass...at least she assumed and tried her hardest to be brave and courageous and started opening her mouth to speak but all that came out was a squeak...great, not what she wanted! Lira cleared her throat and started once more "p...please your highness I don't mean to trespass on what was once your room? I mean you no harm, I got trapped in here and I have no idea if there is a way out of not. Please though, if you do not mind, would you please tell me your story? How you came to die? I swear I won't pass judgement, I just wish to know how you came to be deceased, if there is any way I can help..." she said as she thought to herself without the possibility of me dying which was really her number one thought right now "...then please, won't you let me? You deserve to rest, it seems to have been years since whatever happened happened but yet you still haunt this room" she said as she she stood up, feeling a little braver now, probably stupidly brave but braver non the less and talking seemed to be calming her down a little, at least she wasn't here by herself anymore. "It has been too long for you to still be here, don't you wish to rest with your family? I am not certain what I can do to help you but I promise I will do anything to help you, I just want to see at peace" she said as she held out a hand to the ghost in friendly gesture, knowing that a ghost couldn't take hold of it...at least she hoped this one couldnt, but if she could just hopefully see that she meant no harm then maybe she could help her, it must be horrible to be in this world still when your family had crossed over...or at least she hoped they had.
