"Nothing's as bad as it seems," Alfheim sighed, only to have Zia's hand wave in his face and his facial expression turned something less than pleasant on her while he muttered something about a 'flippant b***h' under his breath.
Yup, they were related.
"It gets better because the more you put out there, the stronger you get. Alfheim is a squire, and now he can use magic and so he's useful! You'll get stronger, physically and mentally. Pain dulls, wounds heal, the enemy festers but while they might seem like they outnumber you, quantitatively good always overtakes evil," Zia speechified optimistically and cupped the side of Holi's jaw in some weird attempt at comfort.
"The fact you're a knight at all means you have all this universal power reserved just for you. You just have to grow into it. And if you want to take a break and hide out for a bit that's okay too. Like if you want to relax, forget, drink some tea, take a nap, make Zia candy..."
Hint hint.

Zia earned another laugh at this, and Holi gestured at the bags around her. "I was, I was actually gearing up to make some. Tell me what you like, I'm sure I can do it. I make too much for us to eat at home... I thought maybe I'd try and get some licenses and a business loan when I graduate... maybe I can make a little high end shop... if I can get the space... and the equipment.... and... well... ok there's a lot to do. But it's a nice thought."

"Businesses take a lot of work to start up," Alfheim interjected, and Zia threw her head back with a groan.
"He runs the burger dive downtown, he's about to get all up on his high horse about it," She warned, and get a light tap on the back of the head.
"I have a degree in business management! It took years to get on my feet, I'm just trying to offer some grounded advice!"
Zia opened her mouth, but realized they were about to devolve into another childish back and forth fight that generally alienated their third wheel, and Holi didn't seem brash enough to interject and stop it like most people who ended up tossed around in their little fights.
"...Anywhoo." She cleared her throat. "I like chocolate with sea salt."
Chocolate was a safe topic. Even if Alfheim scoffed something about how that was disgusting under his breath.
"I should probably take the one legged wonder home," Zia concluded, ut dug around for her business card. It still had all her pertinent information on it, even if the office number had since been scratched out.
"If you ever need someone to talk to about this knight thing or need any help, you can call either one of us anytime."
