When the woman's ears drooped, Paradox frowned. Had she upset Ta? Was the dragon-woman unhappy? Still, Ta seemed not too bothered, luckily.
Ohhhh, showering. That was what the woman had meant with the towel. Nodding, Paradox flicked her tail and began to head towards the bathroom, stopping when Ta responded with a nod about the writing. Good! Her "present" was accepted. Wonderful. Beginning to remove her armor (without realizing it may upset Ta), she headed towards the bathroom once more and set her armor gently down by the door.
"It's settled. I'll teach you how to write." With this, she headed right into the bathroom, closed the door, and started up the water.

The dragon cheered up somewhat, now that there was some successful communication between the two of them. Hopefully writing wouldn't be too hard to learn! She'd.. just have to copy the characters she saw written in papers, right? How hard could that be? In any case it delighted her that the other woman had offered to help her learn.
In the back of her mind, a small voice was reprimanding her though, for letting down her guard so easily. The woman's armor was rather strange-looking, but it was rather clearly still armor. That would mean she was likely a soldier, right? She had some faint memories of that word being spoken in a very frightened tone.. Urkan soldiers and Guardians had razed her hometown. She and some others had managed to escape in time to only see the smoke rising from behind Dragnier's walls..
She quickly snapped out of her reverie. Surely if she was in actual danger, something would have already happened? After all, the soldier woman willingly removed her armor, which also left her unprotected, right? Amrita was rather naïve though, and would never think someone could be manipulative..
She smiled a little at Para as the woman disappeared into the bathroom, herself sitting down on the edge of the bed, fixing her arm warmers and staring at the floorboards. Her mind wandered back to her old home yet again. She wondered if there were any others like her. Lost children of the Brood, confused about their heritage and afraid to let the world see them for who they were. Surely she couldn't have been the only one. With a sigh, her eyes slowly closed and her head sank down against her knees.

As Paradox showered she considered a few things. Who was Ta? The woman had been so kind to her, and yet seemed.. afraid? As if something was holding her back? Paradox couldn't complain, though, for did she have any right to do so? Everyone was afraid in their own way. Even her. Even the soldier. She was very afraid, she simply showed it differently than most people did.
Her hands roamed her body, cleaning bruises and dirt. How did one teach another to write? Luckily, Ta could read, so that was very helpful. It also meant the girl was potentially able to know her alphabet. She'd just.... need to learn how to put it onto paper. Ah! Why did Paradox take this up? Because she owed a debt, and Para wasn't about to just let it slide. She needed to reward this woman, whether or not it meant she'd probably bash her head into a table. She wasn't a teacher, she wasn't even sure how to start, but dammit, she'd try.
Her fingers untangled knots in her hair, pushing back bangs from emerald eyes. A soft, loose sigh escaped her as she relaxed into the warm water before finally turning to grab her armor, beginning work on cleaning it. She needed to take care of it constantly. It wasn't just hers, it was her mothers, and she wasn't about to let it fall apart.
By the time she was done, dried, and dressed it had been about forty-five minutes. The woman left the bathroom to find Ta, quietly setting the towel, folded, onto the floor.
"That was a good shower, thanks."

The dragon had drifted off into her memories, recalling days of peace. Days when her people were still able to lead their simple lives, living off what little the land offered.. she recalled an oasis in the middle of the desert, with a little town built around it. She had been content.
The world she lived in now was different. So different, it was like night and day. Or maybe she just hadn't seen anything outside the reaches of the desert.. outside the little valley that Dragnier once stood in. Was the town even there anymore? Was she truly the last pure dragon? She couldn't believe it. Wouldn't believe it. There had to be others. Surely some of the other children had made it.
Paradox emerging from the bathroom snapped Amrita out of her reverie with a start. The girl nearly jumped up from her seat, garnet eyes staring wide. For a moment, no more than the blink of an eye, there was a slightly glowing aura enveloping her, but she quickly suppressed it. There's no danger.. I shouldn't show people what I am. I'm sure she'd be afraid.. or worse, she thought.
She smiled softly, yet a little awkwardly, clutching one arm tightly. She herself wouldn't need much time to shower - it was just her hair she was the most particular about. As long as her hair was clean and somewhat maintained, the rest of her could do with just a quick soap and rinse. Heck, there were times when she just found the nearest clean stream or pond and washed herself there. This was luxury to her. She fetched herself a towel as well, and walked into the bathroom.

The woman noted the others surprise with a raised eyebrow before collapsing onto the bed once she had left. Ah. Well. It seemed she still had much to learn about not scaring the absolute s**t out of the woman.
Ta. That was all Para knew about the other, and Ta wasn't even her damn name, probably. And yet, here she was, promising to teach the other how to read as if she was skilled enough to do such a thing. What was she doing, exactly? Hadn't she promised herself to stay clear of people? Her presence seemed to only bring misfortune, and yet here she was, making promises that would force the two to come together more than once. s**t, had she lost herself?
But, she couldn't back down now. The other needed to learn how to write, and Para was frankly shocked the other had been able to live in a world where communication was needed. How had Ta lived this long? Was she alone, or did she have a caretaker?
"Tch." Sucking her teeth, Para stared up at the ceiling with a sigh. What was she accomplishing, exactly? Getting herself so weak she collapsed in the street, and then depending on a mute stranger for help? Wasn't she supposed to be the one giving help? Wasn't she supposed to be the one who took care of others? Yet, here she was, being a burden. s**t. She almost missed her soldier days. Back then she had been useful, at least before the chaos. Back then she had understood the world.
Now? She was just a confused woman depending on absolute strangers. Ha. Her comrades would be laughing right now if they could see her...

Amrita undressed rather unceremoniously, simply letting her clothes fall into an untidy pile at the corner. It's not like they would get wet anyway, so why bother? She stepped into the shower, turning the water on at a lukewarm temperature. For some reason, she had a hard time handling water warmer than that. Perhaps it was the fact her body wasn't used to higher temperatures.
Sighing, she leaned forward, laying her forehead against the wall in front of her, letting the water run over her body. If only she could stop being so jumpy. People had mostly forgotten her people ever even existed, right? What knowledge was left was considered legends at this point. If she made herself look just like everyone else, nobody would suspect a thing. Her tail was something she couldn't really help much, but otherwise she looked just like any other person at the moment.. at least aside from being an albino, that was. If she behaved like someone was out to get her, she'd draw too much attention to herself, wasn't that correct? She'd have to learn to act normal.
Learning to write would indeed be convenient.. it was kind of the other woman to offer to teach her. Suddenly, she realized she hadn't yet learned her new acquaintance's name, either. So here they were, two nameless women, both clearly harboring their own secrets and monsters in their heads.
Maybe she and the purple-haired lady could become friends? It seemed like a plausible outcome, considering it would likely take a fair bit of interaction for her to properly learn how to write and communicate. This would be an interesting endeavor. Still, she found she was actually quite excited about the opportunity. It seemed she had made the right decision in helping this strange woman, for she seemed like a kind person. The dragon finished scrubbing herself clean quite quickly, at last turning off the water and grabbing her towel, not spending much time or effort in drying herself off. Her hair was left tousled and damp, but she simply draped the towel over her shoulders and stepped outside in her underwear. Having not had much interaction with others, she didn't really understand too much about modesty.
Sighing, she sank into the small, worn out recliner next to the bed, leaving her clothes once again lying on the floor. What now?

......
There was this silent moment of shock when Ta walked out. Her eyes trailed the others form, which was rather beautiful, thank you. A hot blush touched her cheeks as she covered her lower half of her face with a hand, head jerking to the side to focus on the wall. s**t s**t s**t, this girl was.... was....
An airhead! A genuine, real life, honest to god airhead!
"Ta!" She yelped, leaping up, grabbing the others clothes, and plopping them within an inch of the now sitting Ta. "Clothes! You can't just show your body like that! Not to a stranger! That's for someone you love to see!" The woman flopped onto the bed, back turned to Ta and cheeks a livid red as her hand gripped her cheeks harshly, turning white around the fingers by the force. Who would think an ex-soldier would become this flustered at another's body? Well, combat and normal life was completely different. She saw this world through different eyes.
Eyes that were frantically trying to stare holes into the wall.

Amrita blinked in confusion, not understanding why the other woman was so flustered. She was just letting herself dry off naturally! But in the end, she reached over to grab her bag which held her few belongings and only change of clothes, and pulled out a large, worn out woolen sweater. It reached below her hips but the neckline was so wide, it slipped off one shoulder. With it, she decided to wear a somewhat torn pair of shorts and overknee socks.
Once she was done getting dressed, she walked over to Paradox, gently tapping the woman on the shoulder, then stood there with her arms extended slightly to her sides in a sort of request for approval. She smiled timidly, really wanting to get along with this purple-haired lady. Hopefully she would learn her name soon, too.
After all, she'd at least tried to give out her own name, so it was only fair she'd be told the other's, as well. And all in all, she was growing curious about how this other woman lived. How had she ended up in that alley? What was that strange outfit she wore? She had many questions she desperately wanted answers for, but had no way of asking without having a voice or knowing how to write.

Ugh. This woman was going to kill her, she was sure of it. Sighing at the dragon-woman, she just collapsed into the nearest chair, rubbing her forehead under her bangs. "Ahhh."
Her eyes flicked open when she was tapped on the shoulder, glancing up at the woman with a curious hum. Flicking her eyes over the other, one eyebrow raised under her hair, sucking her teeth in thought. Ta really needed better clothes.... this couldn't possibly keep her warm enough. It also wasn't that sturdy.... though it seemed the woman was questioning Paradox's own opinion.
"It's.... it's nice. Hey, what other clothes do you have? Are those two outfits the only you have?" Not like she could talk... How many tanktops and jeans did she have? How many leather jackets? And, half the time she just worse her armor over it all... Still. Ta wasn't a soldier. Then again, neither was Paradox anymore...
