Ren gave Elium what he hoped was a reassuring smile, feeling slightly silly for his unwarranted outburst. "That's the spirit," he said, and clapped a hand on the boil's shoulder, floating a good foot and a half off the ground to reach. "Sorry, friend, I didn't mean to get so, uh...vocal. It's just a touchy subject, is all."
He smiled, a little sardonically, and hovered back a bit, flapping his wings once to keep him airborne.
"Through a process hopefully no one else will go through," he answered with a grim sigh. "They're sneaky, the hunters, they get in under the pretense of pretending to be students and then they take what they want."
Ren waved a hand. "But enough about the bad stuff - let's focus on the good stuff, like the fact that there are spookies and cute ghouls and boils and lots of fun stuff to do."

Entirely grateful for a conversation change, the undead took the bait readily, mentally filing away mention of hunters and their pretending into a 'things probably better left unanswered' folder for later review.
"Cute--? I, uh. Wouldn' be much of a judge of that." That comment definitely seemed to have gotten him a bit flustered, and Elium rubbed the back of his neck, looking away on purpose. "I'm kinda confused by all this, but I think it's just--well, just 'cause I haven' been here that long yet." He had a brief flash of worry--was he repeating himself? Sludgesticks. He couldn't tell.
"What kind'a things are we talkin' about, though? Like--th'fun stuff. I haven't gone pokin' around anywhere lookin', but I've overheard somethin' like clubs." He'd need a bit of reassurance on those, but he was hopeful that they weren't going to be anything like the cult of his wing. Really, really hopeful.

Ren flipped his tail. "There are always cute ghouls," he said, putting his finger to his lips as though sharing a secret. "I have one all to myself, so she's out of bounds, sorry friend, but I'm sure we can find you a nice lady friend to spend time with."
He was teasing, of course, a grin on Ren's deeply freckled face. "And don't worry," he added. "Once you get settled, everything seems to work out for itself. Don't think too much, okay? Just do."
Giving a satisfied nod, Ren turned over midair so that he was floating on his back, flapping his wings once to propel him forward.
"Clubs, yes!" he said eagerly. "As a matter of fact, I happen to be the owner of one myself, the Scario Kart Club, and we're having an event very soon. You've gotta come by and check it out because we are awesome, okay, much better than that K-9 Club, don't listen to a word they say."

"Iiiiii...? Uh, okay. I--yrh. Yeah." What an eloquent response. Giving a suitably vague handwave, Elium latched on to the mention of clubs instead, not entirely willing to poke into what Ren could mean by 'spending time' with a 'nice lady friend'. He had an idea, but then again, things were probably different around here. Confusion ahoy.
"What's Scario Kart, though? Never heard'a that." The mental image he could come up with was likely nothing like the actual...whatever that was. His kind of carts and Ren's didn't seem to have a decent chance of being similar, really. "An', um, alright." K-9 Club? What was that even--
