Another near deafening crack of lightening illuminated the area. What started out as a light drizzle quickly evolved into a full out torrential down pour soaking both herself and the branch she was on. Hoisting herself up she felt the tension from the webbing began to loosen as the water began to weaken the sticky adhesive causing the fibers fall off her boots. Sidouer froze at the sound of Phact’s warning as her voice carried up to her through the branches. A part of her wanted to ask why, but the question was quelled quickly as another lightning bolt stuck the earth just as she looked down. Right beneath her, way too close for comfort, was the large spider climbing it’s way in a slow predatory manor towards her. She wanted to call out, to scream but she had no voice, silenced by fear. Running wasn't an option either as there was still some webbing stuck to her. Jumping was an option but one that would result in more injury than anything with the weakening threads. PHAAAACT she called out mentally in her head unsure what else to do. A fly in a spiders web... great...

If Phact could have been a mind reader, she would have had ears ringing with the way Sidouer screamed her name. But something side the winded and wet senshi clicked.
Using the tree behind her to balance, Phact worked her way up and dropped her head.
If anyone listened closely, they would have heard the sound of a soft dove in the area before seeing a white light near Phact. Suddenly, the light was moving and going straight towards the face of the spider.
"Get out of there now!" Phact screamed as the bird she summoned blocked the spider's view.

Taking that as her cue, Sidouer reached down to yank the last of the webbing off her boots and began to descend towards the ground below hoping from one branch to the next. Being up that high was definitely not the smartest idea she’d had. Passing by the white uniformed senshi on her way down she called out. “Come on! Let’s try to get it to an open area” with as much rain that was coming down, it wouldn’t take long for the creature to be completely soaked and what serves as a better conductor for her static than a soggy arachnid?

"There is one just back the way I came. Head left." Phact called out as she took off behind Sidouer, glancing back over her shoulder as the dove she had summoned disappeared. Since the spider had not been looking at them, it now seemed even more confused as its 'fly' was gone.
"It hasn't spotted us yet. We have the advantage presently."

With a nod of her head, Sidouer replied "Lead the way!" The sound of a frustrated youma screeching was near ear splitting but had thankfully been cut off by the cracking boom of thunder. It would have been great to get a tad bit more distance between them and the spider but the second illuminating bolt that followed after former rumble quickly gave their location away. Red eyes locked on the two senshi like a sniper who just found it's target sending a chill up Sidouer's spine. Don't look back don't look back she chanted to herself. The arachnid's aura was gaining on them, and without knowing exactly where they were going, the creme haired senshi wasn't too entirely sure they would make it in time.

With a nod, Phact took off at another run. Twisting through the trees, she came back to the area where she had made the turn before jumping on the youma's back. That feeling would not come off for awhile...
It wasn't far and though she could sense the creature coming, Phact didn't look back either. That was until she got to the center of the clearing and looked around for her current partner.
"If you have anything that can do damage, please share. Otherwise we need to come up with something...fast. I don't think we will get another chance."

"That... " Sidouer pointed up towards the sky as another bolt streaked across the sky "but at a MUCH smaller scale. Thing is it has a relatively short range so I need to get close, otherwise..." She looked around the clearing at the tall trees that boarded the edges, damp bark darkened the bases of the tall evergreens "we can try squishing it?" she suggested. It's a long shot but worth a try maybe?

Phact followed her eyes as they moved from the lightening towards the trees and she got the idea. With a smile, the senshi of doves gave a nod.
"Then I'll leave the bringing down of a tree to you. I'll work on keeping it in range. You just hit it with the biggest thing you can." Phact called out as she pushed off the ground with her feet and ran back towards the spider that was coming at them. She could jump as well if needed but right now, she wanted to make sure Sidouer had an easy time just killing that blasted thing!

"Got it!" With a plan set, Sidouer sprinted to the tree line, testing the base of each tree for one that was either particularly soggy or showed sighs of deterioration. About twenty feet to her left the spider emerged into the clearing and paused looking at her, then Phact, then back to her. Without realizing it she held her breath and froze waiting for the other senshi to make her move.

Phact was rushing at the spider the moment it let out a cry in the crack of lightening. She did not plan to land on it again but she was going to keep it away from Sidouer. Phact knew her limits and she didn't have any way besides running off a cliff to kill it.
"Hey ugly." The dove senshi called out as she reached down and covered her white glove in mud that was being stirred up from the rain. throwing it towards the spider, she aimed for the eight eyes. "Over here. How about a bird?" She smirked and pulled herself to the side so it would not be able to see Sidouer.
"Go with the next lightening strike!"

Had it been any other situation, Sidouer would have laughed a bit at the taunt Phact threw at the youma. But alas there was no time for that. Turning her attention back to the trees, the creme haired senshi pushed against the bark of a slightly slender tree as it gave beneath the pressure. haha rot... "This one!" she shouted, indicating to the other senshi that she needed her to bring the spider within range of the tree she was next to. Stepping back, Sidouer took aim and called out her attack, intent to destroy the base of the tree and bring it down "Static... Shock..." The arch of static lunged forward splintering only a portion of the trunk, but not enough to bring it down. no no no no "Come on..." Eyebrows furrowed in frustration that her attack wasn't strong enough to bring it down. Looking over to Phact she watched as the spider chased her in range, if this next one didn't do the trick they were both screwed. With a deep breath she took aim one more time "Static Shock!". Sidouer watched as the wood splinted and with a loud cracking sound, gave way beneath the weight. Turning her attention back to the senshi of doves she yelled "WATCH OUT!"

Hearing the voice out of the corner of her ear, Phact turned her direction and threw another ball of mud towards the creepy-crawly.
"Where is that speed now?" She mocked again back peddling away from it to lure the spider into following her. As it cleared its eyes, she could feel them turn onto her. Even covered in mud as she was becoming, the white outfit would not be hard to spot.
One more mud ball went and Phact was backward jogging as the spider came after her. Had it not been for the other senshi, Phact might have missed the sound of the falling tree. She was standing still, allowing the spider to approach, rear upwards to strike and then she saw it above them.
Her own eyes going wide as she dove backwards turned the spider to look back just a hair too late.
The tree crushed all that was under it with a large splat that sent dirt, branches, leaves, water and mud in all directions.

It was hard to determine whether the snapping sound was the branches breaking under the weight of the tree or the youma's exoskeleton shattering from the impact. Either way the sound made Sidouer visibly cringe. Prior to today she'd never really been scared of spiders, being a gardener you get used to the creepy crawlers, they're kind of what kept her veggies from being eaten by bugs. None the less, after this encounter it would be hard for her not to jump the next time she saw an eight legged critter. Jogging over to the other senshi, Sidouer reached out with a gloved hand to help her up. "Talk about good timing! Are you okay?"

Bracing herself as she reached upward, Phact took the offered hand in a way to try and keep her from slipping in the mud and downing both of them. "I need to stop making a habit of that." She signed working her way up to standing again.
"I'm okay. Though in dire need of a real bath. I will never be able to get rid of that feeling of spider hair..."

This time Sidouer couldn't contain her laughter "I'll hand it to you, you're far more braver than I am. There's no way I would have jumped on that thing." "You saved me quite a few times back there, thank you!" She gave Phact a smile of gratitude. By now the two of them stood side by side completely soaked, though the rain seemed to slow quite a bit it seemed kind of pointless to seek out a temporary shelter. Having used all three of her static shocks, Sidouer felt both physically and magically drained which brought with it longing thoughts of a hot shower and warm bed.
