"I cannot speak for anything other than what I saw. What I saw was in color, that much I know. I know nothing beyond what I saw and heard from the memory, it was brief really. A snippet of some fight." Watching the other he found himself nodding slowly; no there was nowhere else to go as a General. Well, technically there was but the odds of raising up to that rank were slim - very slim. But what did he mean by as close as he could get to becoming a youma? Having the memory of one?

The interest in a drinking contest was a surprise, he didn't expect him wanting to hear about something so simple. But who was he to deny such a simple request? The other seemed to be bored with something, or at least lacking interest, so perhaps he'd like to hear about this? Finding himself a seat he searched his memories as he tried to figure out how to word everything, wanting to remember everything, and convey them to Bischofite.

Laughing he shook his head and glanced about before finding some rather odd looking youma to order a drink from, not for himself of course, as he wasn't one to drink.

"I remember when we came here the drinks, the cups, were piled high and the youma were serving us. Several of us were here, Mica and Fluorite were two that I remember. Mica won as well as I did. Fluorite taught me to teleport when I made Captain, actually she had unknowingly drained my energy once when I was new to the Negaverse." Smiling fondly at the memories, while internally wondering where the purple haired General was. He missed her, worried for her, she was one of the ones who had played a part in training him. What had become of her and her brother?

"I remember the drinks...some cups were empty while others were full of beer, vinegar, filthy water, or some other very good drink. I drank - I don't know how much. But when it was over we were brought down into the basement, Mica and myself, and given the item we'd each won. I - I think I remember someone dancing or shouting, maybe both. It was crazy at once end of the bar - I remember that."

Bischofite abandoned his inspection of the bar rather quickly - aside from a few notable differences, he was nonplussed to discover that this small snippet of youma culture differed very little from human affairs. He frowned with the notion that youma retained more of their human culture than he initially considered. Hadn't they departed as fully from these arbitrary notions of cohesion and community when their bodies so easily parted from their previous appearances? He refrained from voicing his woeful discoveries, but he took a seat next to his general nonetheless. If they were to partake in an echo of human activities, then he would play the part well enough.

At least they don't check ID in the depths of the Rift.

Bischofite eyed the blonde while he spoke, golden gaze drifting along the slight edges in his face before settling on the lips that formed words so readily - words entailing a drinking contest between comrades that ended with winning a strange and wondrous prize. Afterward he returned his attention to the boy's eyes, idling in some shade between blue and a gunmetal grey. The low lighting muted any color therein, though Bischofite didn't comment on it. Instead, he sat back wile taking a breath, exhaling a slow sigh while he fixated on the varying activity in the nearly dead bar. "It's hard to belief' zat you, of all people, got drunk in a place like zis. It's more suited to my tastes, not yours."

But the notion that he could not assume the form of one of these bizarre creatures, the centipede with arms far too long or an overgrown macaw with wings inverted and a second beak protruding from its cranium, dampened his spirits immensely. Benitoite fulfilled his request to a T, but with it came the realization that this realm continued to remain far beyond his grasp. Instead he muddled around in his own uselessness while he tried desperately to find some trite workaround and remedy his situation.

A humanoid conglomeration with legs far too long and a torso curled irreversibly approached them, head poking out just between its legs as it regarded them with an inhuman smile. Four mandibles parted from its face to reveal rows of teeth, much like a shark's, while it served the two generals without qualms. Bischofite raised an eyebrow at its back, which was truly its stomach, but he refrained from commenting on its appearance.

"If I come home wis' you after zis, it's more because I am too inebriated to stand zan it is my geniune wish to leaf' ze Rift. Remember zat if anyone ever asks questions about me." Afterward he seized the cup with mild uncertainty, and took a pull of what might very well amount to pure vinegar, dishwater, or even legitimate booze.

"I didn't know that was what I was getting into when I came down to the Rift to help get a part of the Great Youma. Before that there had been a...gathering where we had to work with some flower youma, trimming them back. Someone was granted a piece of the Great Youma there also. I did want to back out on the drinking contest but the thrall of getting a piece of the Great Youma and helping our side was too enthralling." He kept his voice down; unsure of the reactions to his mention of the Great Youma. He didn't know what the youma here thought of it and of the fact the great one had died...fallen apart. "I was so drunk I took a cab to Osumilite's apartment building and he allowed me to crash on his couch. He brought me home, or maybe it was school, the next morning. It was so long ago and even in the morning I felt ill." Hung over. "I puked in the cab and the elevator up to his apartment - I remember that." And he'd had a lot to drink. he should have passed out, should have just fallen over unconscious at this bar. But he hadn't and he'd continued to drink till he'd won - he'd paid for it in the end. "It's why I don't drink...not after that nightmare." A sip here and a sip there, only once or twice, was all he'd done since. It really shouldn't be a shock that he'd been so drunk; the shock should be that he'd remained conscious and had been able to teleport from down here. He didn't even remember how he'd managed that, figured he never would, and wished to never repeat that incident.

"Your right though, it is more suited to you. But since it was for the cause I did it - I would do nearly anything for the cause. If it helps to advance us, even a little, I'll do it. Better we advance then stagnate or permit the senshi and their knights the upper hand." He'd like to personally remove every single senshi and knight, save for the little ones, and those guardian cats they had. But he also knew that he could not do such on his own; no matter how much he'd enjoy it. "And it's not just that I'm loyal to our side but I don't like the senshi. They think they are better then us and yet they have blood on their hands as well - they don't getto proclaim themselves good or better then us." He disliked how many had said such things when he'd been a Lieutenant and Captain. That the Negaverse was evil, he was brainwashed, the Negaverse were the bad guys and the cause for the problems in the city. Nothing bad about the senshi and what they did. It seemed that some, very few, would say both sides were wrong but always the Negaverse was in there somewhere. He had grown to dislike such talk, and woe to whoever might speak such words to him. At this point he might just take to acting like commoner and curb stomping them.

Looking down at the bone cup he'd been handed, some form of liquid filling the cavity, he nodded his head. "Of course, and I shall be glad that I was able to carry you from here and bring you home with me." Turning his head to the other he flashed a smile. "I enjoy your company Bischofite." The words which came from him were sincere and softly spoken. Turning back to his drink he lifted the bone to his lips and took a sip and sighed, no vinegar or dirty water and also no booze. It was that wonderful drink he'd enjoyed the last time. Choosing to sip slowly, gently, he would nurse this drink for as long as he could.

Bischofite spat in animated disgust once he'd identified the liquid therein. Some mix of motor oil and vinegar, it tasted like - some concoction surely meant to murder a typical human. After a gag punctuated with a cough, the general wiped his tongue on his sleeve and pushed the carved bone cup toward the opposite side of the table. Still, the acrid taste stained his tongue despite his best efforts, and scraping the muscle against his teeth proved ineffective. Bischofite grimaced out of frustration and revulsion; he'd have to stomach the aftertaste unless he found it necessary to request something else.

But he had enough mystery booze for the night.

At least Benitoite's tale proved marginally more entertaining than his misadventures in drinking in a youma bar. Though he was surprised to hear that the blonde drank at all, let alone won a legitimate drinking contest (which he then suspected was rigged), he continued to listen intently while his general recapped the remainder of his tale. However, he waived his chance to comment on the majority of it - by now, the blonde probably knew what he thought of such matters in regards to his admittedly petite roommate. "Bar antics aside, you are correct about ze senshi - zey are content to label us brainwashed bullshitters over considering us adversaries wis' legitimate beliefs and reasoning." Benitoite spent far more time out in the field than he had, but the two still laid claim to very different memories.

"I first noticed it when i toyed wis' ze concept of teaching zem integral ideas srough les'al scenarios. You might'f remembered zem - one in particular was spent wis' a few hangings, and I had to spend ze remainder of zat night in ze hospital. But ze senshi and knight had, disappointingly, reacted by labeling me a monster and discounting my words as wors'less s**t aimed toward zeir hallowed faction. Zey found it far easier to label me a power-tripping lunatic over paying heed to my words - else zey would'f found me far opposite of zat cheapened label.

"It seems zey lost an integral facet of logic over zese terms of 'good' and 'evil', when zey are purely contrived phrases for easy digestion of ze masses. For one to subscribe to such black and white notions is to submit to ze basis for religion - ergo, ze senshi are perhaps more brainwashed zan we are, provided we don't buy into zose same trite labels. However, I fear most of ze Negaverse views ze world in zose terms, which leads to mediocre soldiers trying to rid ze world of ze senshi menace to protect zeir friends and family. Zey don't sink beyond zemselfs, Benitoite - it's a crippling problem."

A quick glance cast toward the blonde confirmed that he found his drink tolerable, and the general cocked an eyebrow at the sight. "... Zey're not trying to murder you wis' antifreeze and rat poison? Let me haf' a taste of zat."

Smirking over the rim of his cup, eyes focused on the other, the blond sipped slowly from the vessel. His hands both had become curled around the object as he listened to the other. Finally he lowered the cup enough to respond to the others comments which was all very honest and truthful.

As the other finished off by asking for a taste of his drink the blond nodded and held it out in offering. "It's good." Like liquid ambrosia really. It was good, not something which would kill. But he had heard, likely that night, not to drink too much of it - no idea why. "I might not be getting served the nasty drinks tonight but I had been that night - it memory serves correct." He couldn't remember that whole not; and everything he did remember was subject to question really.

Propping his elbows up on the bar top and lacing his fingers together he let his chin rest on the bridge his fingers created. After a moment he tilted his head so his right cheek was pressed to the tops of his interlaced fingers, his eyes on the other as he spoke slowly; in a rather lazy manner."Yes, I remember hearing about your adventures with the senshi and toying with them - I do wish I'd seen it." Although he was also sure some of it he'd have had issues with; it was not much of a secret that he didn't like civilians suffering. But he also was rather proud of Bischofite and liked the idea of seeing him at work; he was sure it was a very enjoyable thing to witness.

"I like to wonder if they like to use those two titles, good and evil, because they are simple minded. But I cannot feel comfortable in labeling them all as simple minded. Perhaps it is they who are brainwashed or they simply wish to go with the lazy solution rather then thinking of us each as our own person; unique individuals. They certainly don't see us as gray; the same as they are. I admit I use such terms, because they are simple, but I do not see things in those terms. Chaos is just...chaos - a lack of order. Something they seem to have more then us. And we are all gray...just in various shades." He stated with a shrug while turning his gaze from the other slowly.

"And I did accept the offer to join the Negaverse to protect my own freedom, rather then allow someone else to do so. It's changed over time, as all things change." Turning his gaze back onto the other slowly, in an almost lazy manner.

At this point, old brake fluid sounded good. Given the rancid aftertaste that threatened to rot his tongue off, Bischofite usurped the blonde's drink with relative ease and took a swig. To his surprise, it tasted excellent in a manner that he couldn't quite articulate, as if the youma here managed to tap into a set of taste buds he never knew he had. Not bitter, salty, sour, sweet, or savory, but... Something else. Something beyond those options. But Bischofite relinquished the cup nonetheless; he knew the dangers of drinking when one couldn't taste the alcohol. Despite his earlier jests, the blonde didn't need to carry him twice.

"I suspect zat youma cannot read," came his idle response as he rolled the cup off the tips of his fingers. It spiraled toward the blonde, where it shifted just a little off-center, then righted itself. The warm drink settled after lapping precariously near the brim. "Or zey care little for what zey serf' us, since we all qualify as slavedrivers at one time or anozzer. Maybe zey only serf' zeir own wis' care." The general smiled enigmatically; the bar coaxed a few ideas out of him already. He wondered just how many of the youma there were echoes of days prior, when they looked as humans did and sat amongst bars like these, sharing drinking tales and tall tales and tales of chasing tail. And he wondered if those tales caused the very permanent change of youmafication.

Maybe he should try his hand at writing those small stories, little flecks of life to add to the vast, shadowy realm of the Rift.

When the conversation drifted toward senshi once more, Bischofite lighted his gaze on his companion. He liked to watch the microexpressions play across the blonde's face when he spoke. Usually they were slight and easily overlooked, but occasionally Benitoite was seized by a frenzy of passion, and those slight muscle twitches grew more fervent through his discourse. "I don't sink zey're necessarily simple-minded. Consider zis - it's much easier to stomach labels of good and evil, because zey're cut and dried, prepackaged, and neatly organized to suit your every need. One can compartmentalize sympas'y for ze Negaverse if one sees zem as wholly evil. Besides, you operate under zose same circumstances when you label ze lot of zem as simple-minded.

"Additionally, if you undermine ze foundation of zeir sinking for a number of years, zey are more apt to defend it because to accept zose conflicting facts is to require an overhaul in zeir fundamentals. And zat does require quite a lot of work, speaking from personal experience. I understand zat ze White Moon seeks to protect ze populace, but it's a pointless task. Everyone dies, as ze universe leans toward entropy. All sings come undone - so why try to stop it? To spit in ze face of natural laws accomplishes very little. But zat conversation calls for discussion of coping mechanisms, and I just want to get hammered." Placing his elbows on the table, Bischofite laced his fingers in front of his mouth and met the blonde's gaze with an equally potent stare.

"Somesing on my face, or do you just fancy my paint?"

He wasn't all that surprised when his drink was liberated from his hold by the other, really he wasn't surprised, and the other took a drink. What did surprise him was that the other returned the drink to him! With liquid ambrosia still in the cup he took a slow sip as he thought on things before he nodded his head. "Mmm, I wonder if any youma can read and which ones. It does interest me to some extent. I do wonder about youma, always have, but not to the point I think you do." Bischofite was deeper than he was, than he might ever be, and poked and prodded at things to find out everything he sought. At least this was what he saw of the other.

Sighing he leaned back in his seat, greyish eyes on the other. "I know I do the same as them - I suppose it's human nature. Perhaps not and I simply say things in an easier way while not meaning them, a form of laziness perhaps. But I suppose you are, as usual, correct about this matter." It really wasn't a surprise. Bischofite often pointed out flaws in things he said, or did, and pointed out other angels or what he wasn't looking at, thinking of, ect...it went on really. He did at times really feel like the other was much higher up than he was in terms of intelligence; not that it much bothered him.

"But yes, it is perhaps easier for them to handle it. Even we do it - I do try not to. But I'm afraid with this being a war and not wishing to risk my neck, at least no more than I normally do, I don't speak at length with them so I can more properly judge them." Though there was still that senshi of spiders, a thought whispered through his head, as he remembered that one particular senshi he wished he could sink his hand into - literally and corrupt him. He wished to bring the other over to their side; to sway him with words and emotions.

"And discussing natural laws can lead in many paths and debate, discussion, beliefs and wind up rather muddled or even resemble something out of Alice in Wonderland as ideas become more...off the road most commonly traveled." Shrugging his shoulders as he spoke. A discussion on natural law could go the route of religion or the route of science and then you could travel into the un-provable areas such as metaphysics and into what the universe was and were there laws really? Or was there something which could break them all? After all there had been nothing, or so says the big bang theory, and yet there was something which caused the explosion. It was all rather complicated and while the discussion would be interesting, without a doubt, it wasn't a talk he was in the mood for either. Plus the whole thing about coping with death and why people coped as they did, if you wanted to call it coping even, and breaking such habits. No - not a discussion for now.

His eyes met the others stare and he felt his cheeks warm, just a bit, before he shook his head. "No, although I do fancy the paint on your face - it is rather fetching and fitting." He stated before nudging his drink, mostly empty, toward the other. "I can order another for us both."

Bischofite remained silent for a great deal of time - both listening to the blonde's tangential explanations and watching the youma skitter about the bar, taken to duties ghosted from their prior lives. Were they assigned these tasks, or did they echo motions remembered from a life shattered? Bischofite closed his eyes momentarily and pinched the dip in the bridge of his nose between index and thumb, rubbing it gently. "Debate is a pain in ze arse," he confirmed at last. Benitoite embarked on generalizations now, and Bischofite found it moot to discuss further.

"Fetching and fitting..." Bischofite echoed absentmindedly. Already he found a more useful adaptation from the blonde's words, and his eyes lit up with a dangerous spark. "Fetching and fitting. Benitoite, sometimes your awkward phrasing is a greater boon zan you would sink." Taken to verb form, the blonde's adjectives provided an interesting tip to the endeavors Bischofite considered on a daily basis. Maybe the considerations stemming from that short epiphany were a facet of tipsiness. He couldn't say. Didn't matter now.

"No - we should leaf' zese youma as zey are. Additionally, I suspect zey haf' no reason to serf' us somesing delectable. Let's go - I haf' somesing of an idea to discuss on our way back." As Bischofite stood, he caught his general's bicep and offered a generous tug toward the door. "I belief' I can pull of a grander scale to ze experiments I plotted as a captain, but... Zat requires a considerable amount of preparation and manpower. Additionally, one mind alone cannot solf' all ze exacerbating problems zerein.

"Benitoite, I am asking for your assistance - even if it amounts to nossing more zan words of encouragement." Bischofite cast a sharp glance to his general as he pressed past the door.

Even outside, the Rift air felt oppressive, yet strangely refreshing.
