Aminah's brow furrowed and her frown deepened as the smaller... creatures... began to chant. What was this? She couldn't understand what was going on, but one thing was for sure, this big one in front of her was getting ready to attack. It opened itself up, throwing its arms out and rearing back with a large fireball to throw at Aminah. Oh no. It was the only thing Aminah could think before she had to react.

She jumped to the side, hiding behind one of the large Jauhar trees as the fireball was launched at her with a vicious force that shook a shower of leaves from the trees canopy. She winced and looked hesitantly around the corner, looking to see where her opponent was and if it was looking like it was about to launch another attack. Her peering paid off. The thing was still in the same spot, but not for long. It lunged itself forward, out of the tree and onto the floor before rearing back for another attack.

Aminah launched herself from behind the tree and threw a steady stream of water at whatever it was she was fighting against; hoping to stop the next attack from striking and it worked sort of. The fireball it was gathering poofed with a cloud of smoke into the air as it was extinguished, but it seemed to have absolutely no luck against the thing itself. It just reared back and started another fireball, this one even bigger. Aminah was just getting it irritated.

Great.

Aminah ran back behind the tree and looked up to the other two chanting hooded figures. They were still chanting away, and it seemed to help the bug thing currently working to kill her. She only hoped that maybe if she could stop them, she could take out the bigger one. But was it worth it? Couldn't she just run away? Should she just run away? Another fireball whizzed by her, hitting a tree to her left and bursting, sending a shock wave through Aminah and blowing her against the tree. There was no coming back from that if she was hit with one. That was for sure. She ran to a different tree, one with a better view of the two other guys and launched a lightning strike at one of the chanters.

The creature was relentless, even as she tried to counter-attack it only seemed to fuel its rage and rather chaotic nature. It held little regard for the surrounding area, as fire began to catch and spread among the leaves and shrubs around them. If she didn't act fast, the fire they had managed to get under control at home would be a pointless endeavor as the edge of the plains were starting to catch as well the forest. If this fight wasn't ended quickly the whole area could be devastated.

The chanting was still occurring. The two smaller versions of the bigger bug man seemed indifferent to the fact some parts of the fire balls got surprisingly close to them. They didn't move... and they didn't stop chanting. Perhaps... the big one could be antagonized to hit his own people?

Aminah's energy and reaction times were slowing down dramatically with each passing second. If Aminah didn't figure out something fast she was going to be done for, and probably the entire forest with her. She grimaced, something she hardly ever did and didn't know if it even looked right on her face, and rolled behind the protection of another large tree as a fire ball struck nearby, too close for comfort. She jumped out from behind the tree to avoid the heat and could feel her leg singe. She cried out in pain and winced at the feeling of the burned flesh before weakly running to another tree.

There weren't going to be many left at this point to hide behind.

Aminah looked up to the large bug mage and noticed its seeming lack of consciousness. It looked like it didn't really notice what it was doing besides attacking Aminah. Which was bad for Aminah, being the target of all of this, but perhaps it could be used to her advantage. She looked up to the tree branches were the other two bug mages were and an idea slowly started to form in her head. He leg was burned, but if she could just make it up into the trees, she could probably get the thing to hit its allies.

Aminah dodged another fireball and as soon as the bug mage needed to recharge she was scurrying up the tree and onto the branches. Her leg ached, but she would have to forget it for now.

She jumped outward, running down the branch and toward the bug mage who seemed to not notice her, and put herself in front of the thing as soon as she saw the large one rear back again.

The fireball had just left it and Aminah threw herself off of the branch and out of harm's way, using air magic to cushion her fall. The last thing she needed was to hurt her leg any more than it already was, or any other part of her body for that matter.

The mage let loose the fire ball just as she had predicted, and as it zoomed towards her the target he was so intent on moved, and a piercing shriek of pain erupted from the smaller mage as its body was set on fire. Screaming it flailed, the fire was so hot and powerful it was soon engulfed in its magical flames. It fell from the tree limb and to the ground in a lifeless heap. The larger one almost paused as if confused, how had that happened?

It staggered slightly as the magical shield protecting it seemed to crumble around him. Like a small thin globe of ice, it suddenly appeared around him only to shatter and vanish before hitting the ground.

The last of the smaller mages stopped chanted abruptly as if it hadn't noticed its comrades demise until the shield failed. Suddenly it began chanting anew although this was a different sort of spell and it didn't feel quite as powerful as the first one. In fact, the larger mage looked more irritated than anything as this spell only protected the front of the mage and was visible (although transparent) to the eye.

The fireball struck the smaller mage and Aminah had to shuffle out of the way once she had reached the ground to avoid being toppled by the flaming figure. She winced with the reaffirmed pain in her leg and moved toward a tree. She hesitated for a moment, seeing what was happening with the shield her attacker was wearing and wondering what would be the best course of action. Should she attack the creature now? Or would the same trick work a second time? It was almost a moment too long and she knew there would be another attack soon. Too soon for her liking really.

She ducked behind a tree and thought out her plan as quickly as she could. Alright it was settled, all she had to do was get around it and catch hold of it from behind. If she was lucky enough she wouldn't even have to go all the way around, she could just get to its side and launch lightning. Lightning was at least something she could manage. It was probably her most violent of attacks, and given the circumstances she couldn't seem to find a strong objection to using it.

She lunged out from behind her tree and ran as fast as she could toward the bug mage, intending to end this as fast as she could.

With all the confusion the mage had lost sight of Animah for a moment, in a rage it began to launch large balls of fire in random directions. As if hoping that by fluke he would be able to incinerate her along side the forest. Flames raged around them, its heat was intense and the crackle and hiss of the forest was like a dying scream as trees and plants were engulfed. It would be his rage that would be his undoing as he didn't spot Animah darting to the side of him with lightning ready to strike. The the limb he was on was actually weakening due to the fire's he had set to close to himself. A sickening crack and he was made unbalanced, the limb he stood upon dipping dangerously under his weight.

With fire raging all about the smaller mage seemed unnerved, it was getting dangerous, his one comrade was already dead due to the warriors stupidity the chanting was becoming weak as if it was having a hard time believing that they would live through this. The shield would flicker...

Time to strike was now.

She could see her moment of opportunity. Things were starting to fall apart for her attackers and the wall of magic was wavering. She launched herself as close as she dared and struck out with as powerful a bolt of lightning as she could. She could feel the power sizzle through the staff she was holding as she put every hope she had into this one attack. It would have to go really well. Her only other option was flee, and then she would be almost fully responsible for the entire forest burning down.

She could only wait and see what her attack would bring, and hoped that that would be a swift end.

As electricity coursed through its body it was unable to scream as its hands were clench tight its body convulsing. It was unable to stay on the branch it was standing on and soon toppled off. As it fell to the ground a sickening crunch could be heard, most likely the creature had broken its spine or neck, either way the branch it had been atop off soon followed landing squarely across its body.

If it hadn't been already dead it certainly would be now.

Shocked the last of the mages gawked at the fallen champion's body. It looked as if it couldn't believe what it saw. Glancing up to where Animah was it gave a clicking hiss before chanting anew. A small cloud of smoke exploded from where it stood and when the wind blew it away ...the mage was gone. All was left was the destruction to prove that anything out of the ordinary had happened.

A voice was calling out Animah's name. Shouting, as if hoping to find her before it was too late. It would prove to belong to the old man who had stood up for her in the village, in tow he had several other mages who were surprised to see the forest engulfed in flames. They quickly began the tiresome work of putting it out.

"Animah?!" Shouted the old man, looking extremely worried something may of happened to the lass.

Aminah flinched at the sound of the crack of the bug mage and groaned as the branch came down to finish whatever was left of it. It was a horrible fate and under normal circumstances she would feel horrible for it, but at the moment she could only watch as the other bug mage disappeared in a puff of smoke and magic. It was all happening too fast and she would just have to consider the repercussions of today after it all had passed.

Aminah barely had enough time to assess what was actually going on, the heat of the fire still licking at her from all sides, when she heard the shouts of her name from somewhere in the forest. The group appeared, ready to help put out the fire and Aminah felt her knees start to give way. She was exhausted after all of this, and burned still. She looked down at her leg with furrowed brows and knew that she would have to get this treated before it turned any worse.

She hobbled to the old man, now fully feeling the pain in her leg, and forced a smile on her face. "I'm alright. Well, mostly." It wasn't like she could hide her wounds, so saying she was perfect wasn't really going to cut it.

The old man looked positively relieved to see that Animah for the most part was unhurt. Though his concern was still obvious as he looked to her injured leg, and then back to the girls face. Despite the fact he had a make shift cane with him he held an air of importance, and wisdom.

"Animah, what happened here? You are hurt, we should have your wounds taken care of. Everything back home was taken care of, on the way here we passed your house...I am sorry to see that some of your beautiful garden was consumed by the fire..but it looks like you were able to stop it from destroying it all." He calmly asserted as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Animah if it wasn't for you, things could of gotten very bad. People were starting to become a mob, panic was over riding thought. You managed to make yourself a figure of reason and you dealt with the situation. You deserve the title of Sage, may you continue to protect us like you did this night."
