And now they were giving him even MORE of a headache. Joy. "Well, that's probably going to spare me from some bizarre trivia, then." Not really, though. The trivia would come whether he wanted it or not. It just wouldn't be helpful trivia in any shape or form.
"That seems weird. If I was a monster I'd want to look like a monster." Solomon said just to have laughter explode in his head from Aren. Can't fit in many places when you're as big as we are.
No sirree! Gotta be a touch smaller to open doors. Oh. And have a thumb.
"....Maybe it's a convenience thing?" he asked, prompted by the comments rebounding back and forth in his head. It really was going to make him need another painkiller just for them in the near future.

"You'd think," she agreed, before shrugging at his question. "It probably does have something to do with convenience." Honestly the concept of monsters attending school was pretty bizarre. She had to figure though, that a school built for monsters at their largest would be insanely colossal, so it made since if they were all a more manageable, standard size. Dropping her hands she stuffed fingers into her pockets. "So where did you hail from before waking up here?" She realized with a start that she hadn't actually asked anyone where they'd come from before deus. Her own place of origin was pretty hard to pinpoint, given that she moved around a lot, but that wasn't normal.

"Oh..uh..Hollywood." he answered simply. "Wherever they needed a good ol' stuntman, really. So Hollywood works, even if it's not really a concrete place." Solomon chuckled a bit, cracking his knuckles before shoving his hands into his pockets with a small shrug.
"How about you?"

Blonde brows twitched at the words 'Hollywood' and 'Stuntman'. That hadn't even been int eh realm of possibilities Peyton had considered to possible pre-Deus careers or locations. "That's actually pretty ********' sweet." How often did anyone ever get a chance to meet an honest-to-god stunt man? Like, never.. She shifted a little uncomfortably as the question was redirected back at her, and she did that cheek scratching thing again before catching herself and forcing her hand back to her side. "I moved around a lot, so I don't think I really come from anywhere specific, though the last place I lived was in Pennsylvanian." Her home town was a little place in Colorado, but she didn't much like dwelling on her past.

"Mmm, well my mom raised me and my sisters in Dinosaur, Colorado...which is actually a lot cooler sounding than it actually is with all of the tourism, but it certainly kept people employed around there." Thank goodness. A single mother raising 7 kids needed all the work she could get.
"Pennsylvania's not too bad. We did a little bit of work around there now and then, but I spend most of my time between New York and California..and some Floria....and - well shoot, it really depended on what they needed. I went overseas a lot too.
Did you know not many people are able to drive a car backwards at more than 80 miles per hour?" he scratched his chin. "Apparently that's a niche skill......"

"I've been there," she added a little abruptly at the mention of the town he'd grown up in. "That isn't really that far from where I lived when I was little." And that was about all he was gunna get from fer on that. As for Pennsylvania being nice? "I wouldn't know, we weren't there very long before I signed up with the hunters." Only a few months, she hadn't even finished unpacking all the way, though she never really did anymore. It wasn't worth it. His past was a lot more interesting, not to mention less painful. "I did not know that, but it's no surprising." She was staring at him again, but this time because she was impressed. "I think I'm kind of really jealous of your career and all the s**t you got to see and do." She had to imagine being a stuntman was a fun job. Dangerous of course, and probably painful, but still fun.

"Really? Huh. Small world." he didn't pry - after all, she hadn't mentioned where 'nearby' was on purpose so it wasn't his place to pry.
But I wanna know!

"Well, my career was alright, I guess. It's what happens when dreams die." he laughed a bit. "But not too bad for a runner up life." Solomon didn't want to sound like he was holding a pity party when he really did have the coolest job in the world. Well, almost. "If nothing else, I might be able to give you a little taste of things when we have a chance to get behind a wheel of a car or something off this island...well, the island wouldn't be too bad if it had some roads." Which he couldn't see any, really, as he looked out over what part of the island he could see at this point.

She nodded and smiled at the 'small world' comment, then sort of narrowed her eyes at him in an incredulous manner. "May I ask what sort of dream you were going for that stuntman is the back up plan?" The dainty Sun couldn't even fathom a guess. Literally nothing was coming to mind. His unique offer was enough to have pale eyes widening, and she had to fight to keep from bouncing on her toes. "Really? That'd be amazing." Not just amazing. <******** amazing! God damnit, when was the power going to come back?

Solomon laughed, just the faintest bit. "Olympic Gymnast." he answered. "Was pretty good until well...." Quietly, Solomon rolled up one pant leg to show Peyton his knee - which looked like it had been chewed on, set on fire, and then chewed on some more.
"It works, just not like I need it to and only with way too much physical therapy sometimes." He patted his knee once before he stood up straight again. "Works well enough for what I was dong, though. And of course! We'll see how many cops I can piss off with my driving for ya."
