Once their treats were paid for, Arian had carried his drink and pastry over to the table that Isha had indicated, setting it down carefully before slipping his rucksack off his shoulders and setting it carefully on the ground. "Well you said that you want to learn the basics of jewellery making so I thought I could split it into two parts if you're okay with that" he said quietly, stirring the whipped cream absently and taking a sip of his latte before continuing. "First I could show you how to make individual components such as the links, drops, spacers, caps and mayhaps a couple of clasps, a set of basic ear wires - that sort of thing." He took a couple more sips of his latte, his quiet voice starting to take on an animated note, another of his slight smiles on his face as he added "Then I could show you how to assemble them into pieces of jewellery. Oh that reminds me" Breaking off Arian rummaged in his rucksack for a moment before bringing out a notepad and flipping through pages of sketches of potential pieces of jewellery ideas before coming to a page with his slightly messy handwriting, carefully tearing it out and sliding it over to Isha. "I kind of took the liberty to jot down the sort of tools that you'd need to get started such as pliers, cutters, sorting tray that sort of thing" he explained. "Although we can just use mine for the lesson - lessons." Then it occurred to him that he'd practically been rambling on at Isha and his voice tailed off, taking a few more sips of the latte before adding, his voice slightly embarrassed "Sorry for rambling on at you, they were pretty much just some ideas I'd been thinking through." He finished "But we'd take it however you want to work it."

Isha simply listened to the man talk, nodding every now and then and being as attentive as he could. Out of all of his lessons thus far, this one seemed the most organized. Well, the lesson of flowers with Krishna was organized, but there were hardly any words coming from him at the time. Just "do this, no, not like that this" for the most part.
"Oh, please, don't worry about ranting! It's like school, thinking of it that way. A lecture, but one that's actually compelling, then just.. Grating on your nerves. And I like the attention. One on one is far better than being one to many in my opinion." He couldn't help but smile at the one before him kindly. This teacher was just so sweet, he could hardly handle it!
"Alright then! Go ahead and start, please! I'll follow in your lead!"

Arian was a little startled when Isha asked him to go ahead and start, having taking it that their meeting today was just to outline how the jewellery-making lesson would go, discuss the shape the lesson or lessons would take - that sort of thing. On the other hand, he tended to keep a few bits and pieces in his rucksack - some bits of 18-gauge soft wire, a few bits of beads, a chain nose pliers, his favourite round nose pliers and of course his notepad where he sketched jewellery ideas - it came in helpful if he wanted to craft up bead links, but would do for an impromptu lesson here and he figured the staff wouldn't mind as long as they tidied behind them. "I ah thought we were just going to talk about the shape of lessons" he admitted quietly to Isha as he rummaged in his bag, "So I only really have bits and pieces on me. But I have enough bits that I can teach you how to make wrapped loop bead links if you'd like to do something here and now." He smiled a slight but rueful "My full jewellery crafting kit's kind of big. Well bigger than my rucksack." Cooro Cooro sorry to have taken almost forever with this tagback

"Oh! I didn't know that you would have wanted to met again! I mean.. I'd love for that to happen! Most of my teachers seem to think my lessons are a one time thing. If you'd really don't mind, then we can just do the basics, like, looking at things that I should get myself, different techniques of what to do and things like that."
The boy honestly wasn't aware that the other had intended to meet more than once.. It was refreshing, certainly, even if it were to be a shame that he would not be recognized after a while. That was the thing that bothered him most about his change.. It made it hard to make new friends.. After all, he'd lose them all too soon..

"I ah wouldn't have minded doing more than one lesson" Arian admitted, feeling a little flustered that he seemed to have misread the whole thing. "But I can show you the contents of some of the stuff I have on hand" he rummaged through his rucksack again as he spoke before pulling out the wire, his notepad and the two sets of pliers. "And what they're used for." Another quick rummage and then he pulled out a small bag of mixed beads followed by the wire cutter that he used when snipping the wire. "And I have enough stuff on me that we can actually work through some examples of some of the basic stuff" adding "Which in this case will pretty much mean bead links, although with enough of them and a clasp you can pretty much make a simple bracelet or necklace out of them. Think that will work for you?"

"I think I'd like that.. To have more lessons. Like I said, after this mini one, I can go ahead out and buy some things for myself, and maybe practice a little, before we meet again?" He nodded to himself more than the other, confirming the details in his mind. Hopefully they would have enough time before he changed.. Or maybe he could say that he was old Isha's cousin from India.. He really, truly didn't want this to be their last time meeting.
"Those look a bit dangerous.. But exciting! I think I'd like to make a necklace piece... I have a.. A cousin who's coming to Destiny City.. Maybe I could make a gift for him. He'd be proud of me, knowing that I was mastering the arts."

"Well that list I gave you pretty lists all the tools you'll need for the basics" Arian said smiling. "Although it'll probably best to buy them from a bead shop rather than a general craft store." He added "I'd recommend the Beaded Garden as a good bead shop, although Sparklespot's pretty okay too and I can jot down the address for both if you like." He shook his head at the 'dangerous' comment, laughing slightly but quietly "They're not really" he said, his eyes amused as hw looked over at the bag of mixed beads "And a necklace's a great thing to work on making." Pushing the bag towards Isha he added his quiet voice animated "I'm not sure how many beads are in there, but why don't you pick some that you like out and then I'll show you how to combine them with this" he indicated the wire "To make the links and then afterwards we can work out another time to meet again."

"Okay.. Yeah, that would be great." He was just about to pull out a pen to scribble down the names of the shops on the list he was given, but since the other offered, that would work just as fine.
Arian's smile was contagious, and Isha couldn't help but smile right back at him, taking the bag into his hands. There weren't many in the bag, but there was a particular gold bead that caught his eye.. It was certainly a lovely color, and seemed awfully familiar as well.. It was as if he were staring straight into someones eyes, yet he couldn't quite place it.. No matter. The bead, along with a few others that were a warm reddish color were withdrawn from the bag and placed on the table between them.
"I really like these ones. Will they work?"

Arian nodded as he glanced over at the beads that Isha had chosen "Yes they will" he agreed before rummaging in the bag himself. Withdrawing four beads, the first two a pale jade, the second two lampwork beads one white and silver-swirled with silver spots and the second a mixture of blues and greens and silver spots, Arian set them on the table before reaching for one of the pieces of wire. "This is eighteen-gauge wire" he said, adding. "It's soft enough that you can actually bend it by hand" before demonstrating by bending the tip. Picking up the white and silver-swirled lampwork bead Arian measured it against the wire. "For simple bead loops you need to make sure that it's about the length of the bead plus one inch" he continued, showing Isha as he cut the wire, before slipping the bead on the piece of wire and showing him how to bend the wire on each end so that it formed a neat but simple loop. He demonstrated again, this time on one of the jade beads, set it next to the lampwork beads and pushed the two pliers and the wire cutters towards Isha. "Here you give it a try."

"It seems so perfect.." Isha murmured to himself as he watched Arian move his hands around the beads, holding the pliers and manipulating them with a well-trained skill.
"I mean... Your movements are so smooth, and the wire looks like it has always been in that shape. Like.. Um.. There's no evidence that it was moved at all.. Hehe, I bet I'm not making too much sense.. But I'll give it a try as well." He took the pliers and wire cutters from the man, looking at them for a moment, judging how heavy they were, and how much pressure should be applied as he worked. Then he began to set out on working his own little pendant out, mimicking the moves Arian made. Yet his was no where near as smooth, as natural looking as the dark-haired man's was. There were many places where the pliers were squeezed just a little too tight, leaving small dents in the metal, and the cut he made was jagged and sharp, and most likely unpleasant to have resting against an uncovered chest, if worn as a pendant.
"It's not as easy as it looks.."

"I've had practice" Arian admitted. "And I guess I've come along from my first attempts." His smile was rueful as he admitted "My very first attempt at jewellery-making was back in school when we spent one class making beads out of Fimo which we were going to string, but I ah left mine in the oven to long." His cheeks reddened "So mine weren't in a fit state to do much of anything with" and they'd ended life being ignominiously dumped in the school workshop's bin. "Here," reaching out for Isha's attempt he used the wire cutters to carefully snip the other's first attempt away, before offering him a fresh piece of wire. "When curving the wire round to make the loop it's best to do it in one go - rather than trying to do it slowly, but it's something you get used to." He demonstrated with a bit of the wire that he'd snipped away from Isha's first attempt, before showing Isha the end of the round nose pliers adding "The ends of this are rounded see - which makes it easier to make curved shapes." Holding out the pliers he added "Want to give it another go?"

"Ah, I see.. Well, atleast it got you into doing something you love, right? My schools never had anything like that. Our art program was always hoity-toity "high Class" arts, like self portraits, or flower arrangement and such. I went and took a PE class instead. Fishing. In my mind, that's an artform in itself." His passion for fishing stemmed back years and years, to when he was just a wee little tot, scrambling around with a stick, as piece of string, and a rock. Even then he knew that this is what he loved doing, and imagined himself as a sailor on a large boat, just catching fish all day. But his parents didn't see all that was good in that. Such a task was for the more "uncultured" of the world, in their opinion.
When Isha handed over his work, he watch very very carefully as Arian began to correct his mistakes... Were there really that many..? But he wished to impress his teacher! So he tried again, using a far more gentle and smooth touch to wrap the golden bead. With the more patience he used, the more proper the item turned out, and as he finally set down his piece once more, he clapped in glee, estatic that it worked out.
"Did I do it right? It looks much better than before!"

"I guess my secondary school was like that. High Class" for a moment Arian's eyes looked distant. "I was at a public school for my secondary before I moved here - I guess that they'd be called private schools over here, kind of like the UK version of Azure Valley - although I went to MeadowView here." And had on the whole enjoyed the time there for the most part despite the fact that he could have done without having to wear the shorts that made up part of the uniform. He blinked and shook his head, "But my primary school was a state one" before adding "And you're right those burnt Fimo beads are what probably started off my interest - weird as it sounds." Well that and his Nain he added to himself, acknowledging silently that his granny had been a big part of it too. He watched as Isha tried again, noting that the other was handling the pliers much more gently this time round. He looked over the bead carefully once Isha had finished and then smiled "It's much better this time," he said. "Personally I would close the space between the end of the loop here so it's flush against the wire, but this is a really good second attempt."

"The more I think about school, the more bitter I become, I think.. I mean, isn't it a bit suspicious that someone like me has time for such things? School started for everyone not too long ago, and yet here I am, going about looking for my own learning, while my own parents are too incompetent to go ahead and register me properly for school. It's not like they didn't have the whole summer to do it. Nope, they just 'forgot'." He put the pliers down after handing the bead over to Arian. It didn't bother him all too much to tell the older boy such things, after all, how many more times were they to meet before he vanished? Might as well spill his guts to all of these people, since they wouldn't ever see this 'Isha' ever again.
"Ah, well.." he said again, more to himself than to Arian. "Is it wearable atleast?"

"I'm not the best person to talk about parents" Although Arian's voice was it's usual quietness, the distant look was back in his eyes as he tugged absently on the end of his braid. After all the rather strained relationship that he had with his own father wasn't something that could be held up as a good example of father and son togetherness and the last time Arian had actually seen his father in person had been at some point prior to his move to the States two years back. He blinked at the sound of Isha setting the pliers down on the table, focused on the bead that he had been inspecting. "Well the loop's a little too small for a chain, but that's easy enough to fix." he admitted before rummaging around in the bag of beads for a few moments before fishing out a pretty looking jump ring which he attached to the loop on top of the bead. "There it should be able to hang from a chain now - just slip it through the jump ring." he said, adding "This one's shop bought, but the plain ones are relatively easy to make and maybe something we can do for one of those other lessons if you like."
