"A bit..yes," Shun said before reaching for his tea to cleanse his pallet. He shook his head to himself, slowly pushing that dish back. "But..yes. I will be careful. Mitsu would fuss over me all the time if I weren't," he said, then nodded, "I'll be sure to come by. Mitsu would probably love visiting too. She enjoys sweets and baked goods. Just.. make sure you have some carob substitutes for the chocolate things. The other canine customers would probably appreciate it as well."

Laughing sheepishly, she jotted down a small "x" beside the name of the cake. Duly noted--she would have to refine that recipe.
The ghoul grinned at the mention of Mitsu fussing over the reaper, lifting a hand to suppress a laugh. "It's reassuring to know that there will be someone to watch over you. And yes, of course! Definitely invite Mitsu too!" The baku visibly perked up, her tail wagging eagerly behind her, "I have lots of desserts she can have!"

"Good," Shun nodded. He reached for another small dish and went to take a bite. This too, had him pausing. "......."His gaze soon shifted up to meet Xiu's eyes. "This is really ******** good."

His sudden silence unnerved her, the ghoul's shoulders stiffening as she sat up straight, hands clasped in her lap as she awaited his verdict. Oh god, was it too sweet? It was too sweet, wasn't it? She thought that she had managed to balance the flavours okay, but maybe--
--...oh.
That was not what she had been expecting. Her eyes grew round, and then her lips spread into an undeniably pleased grin. "I'm glad you like it! Hopefully that washed out the...alcoholic taste from the other one."
She then wrote down the dessert name and drew a star beside it, pausing briefly before scrawling "aniki" beside it as well. It was always helpful knowing what her friends liked.
"Sorry to make you try all of these though. You...aren't really a sweets kind of person, are you?"

There was a light nod at that, and then he took another bite out of that one dessert he had just tried. It really was good. "I eat sweets, but Mitsu is certainly more of a sweet tooth than I. I like them now and then," he replied. "Is it only going to be coffee and sweets you guys will serve?"]

Xiu lifted a hand to her mouth to hide her smile, still obviously very happy to have found a dessert that Shun seemed especially fond of. She nodded at his reply--yes, Mitsu did seem like more of a sweet tooth...maybe she could pack up some of these cakes for Shun to bring to her?--and as for his question...
"Nope! Gene and I have our own little...specialties, I guess? Though we're trying to teach one another too. We'll have different kinds of coffees, teas, sandwiches, and desserts." Pausing, she tapped her chin thoughtfully, "And maybe other things, if we get any suggestions."
There was still...lots to be done about actually buying and fixing up a place for the cafe though...

Shun thought that over some, tilting his head. He didn't really have anything to suggest as far as what else they could be serving. They had covered a good number of bases with what they had thus far. "I see. Do you guys have any idea on a location?"

The ghoul hesitated for a moment before nodding, making a vague gesture towards their surroundings. "We don't have a precise location yet, but we know that we definitely want the cafe to be near Amity." Which was, all in all, more for practical reasons than for sentimental ones.
"We'd just...like to keep an eye out on the latest happenings. Just in case, you know...?"

"Understandable. Things can get pretty ******** chaotic around here," Shun murmured. Even with the swear, he felt like what he said was an understatement, still.

Laughing, the ghoul gave a weak shrug of her shoulders. "I just want to be close by in case anything bad happens. I mean, even after we graduate, I'd still be pretty worried about my friends in the lower years..." Especially with this whole Horsemen and Hunter mess.
Letting out a heavy sigh, the baku flopped facedown on her table. "Just how will this conflict turn out, I wonder...?" Who was going to win? ...And more importantly for them, where did Halloween fit in the grand scheme of things?

"There will always be conflict, one way or another. True peace is not possible," Shun said while looking up at her, "The hunters tried to wipe out the horsemen. They couldn't eliminate them all. And now the horsemen have regrouped and strengthened some to fight back nearly just as harshly."He gave a shrug. "Even if one side were to be completely consumed... that wouldn't stop conflict."

That was definitely true. Still, the uncertainty of their own role in the conflict made her uneasy. "I suppose that the Hunter and the Horsemen will be going at one another for a while...but where do we fit in, exactly?"
The Horsemen had been trying to recruit initiates, and the Hunters used Halloween creatures as weapon fodder. In both cases...they seemed more like cattle than a side that played an active role in the fight.

Shun shrugged at that. "However we fit. We'll get caught up, one way or another. If I had the opportunity to kill another hunter, I won't pass up on it. The horsemen? They have a couple ******** up ideas, but they're probably somewhat more trustworthy," he said before sipping his tea carefully. "But if they screw us over, I won't have any qualms in taking them down either. Most likely we'll have to end up looking out for ourselves."
