Tomoko nodded slowly. "Yeah, I'm going alone 'cause I don't want to inconvenience anybody else since everybody has their own lives and doesn't need to worry about taking care of my stuff....." she tilted her head with a small sigh, ears drooping a bit in worry.
Her ears perked back up at his offer. "Are...are you sure you'd want to? I mean, I appreciate even just the little bit of extra safety in numbers, but....are you sure it might take a long time."

He certainly understood not wanting to inconvenience anyone. Erebus had never thought that he was particularly great at anything, and if you asked him, he would think he was simply average. But Tomoko? Tomoko was a sweet ghoul whom everyone liked...
'You seem to be well informed and handle group behaviour well'.
"U-uh, thanks? That's... really nice of you."
He found himself suddenly thinking of when they had first met, a brief smile flickering across his lips. "Of course I'm sure." Erebus could never let Tomoko just head off on her own, all alone, even if she was technically more advanced than him; she had certainly grown from the ghoul with three tails he had bumped into right outside his room.

She also didn't leave post-it-notes on doors anymore, so that was kind of a thing too.
His smile reassured her enough to make her smile as well. "Well..I...alright then... I don't know how soon I'm going to be leaving, though. Still have to figure out how I'm going to get there." Tomoko tilted her head ever so faintly as she shared this information with him. "I mean, I guess a boat would be the best bet but it's such a long trip..."
She trailed off a bit before she pat Erebus on the head, smiling again. "But it'll be less long with you there, right?"

"Well, we need time to pack up and get ready and stuff right?" Of course, Erebus had no idea where they were going except Tomoko's mention of heading north. It didn't matter to him as long as he was accompanying her on her mission, and that she wouldn't be alone.
...Boat, huh? Well, he certainly hoped he wasn't the sort to get seasick.
"Of course." He said reassuringly, his tail wagging happily in response to being patted. "I can even piggyback you if I have to."

"Oh! Well yes, naturally. I'm not ready to go yet in that regard either. I just need to figure out travel plans." she laughed as she stood up, stretching. Sitting crouched too long had a way of making one stiff.
The idea of riding piggyback both made her giggle a bit and blush. "Well, I wouldn't make you doggy paddle me across water, Erebus."

"Just tell me when you're ready." Erebus said, following her lead to stand up and stretch his legs as well. It was sort of strange that he had been a puppy at her feet, but now, he easily towered over her.
He laughed. "Well, certainly not in natural form." The image of Tomoko clinging on to a puppy swimming determinedly across the water was certainly quite amusing.
