If Eva had a tail, it would probably be wagging incredibly fast right now. "Yes, of course! Though for some reason, the door will magically unlock itself again after you're forced to take out that monster."
She decided she needed to talk to Cass more, even after their adventure today was over.
Her blue eyes grew round at the mention of a lock pick kit, an eager "ooooh!" escaping her lips. "Wow, neat! So are you a master lock picker, then?" Honestly, Eva didn't know anything about breaking and entering herself. The most she could do was either a) wriggle a piece of wire in the lock in hopes that it somehow clicked open, or b) kick the door down (or try).
Clasping her hands behind her back, she cheerfully followed the other girl, eying the chosen house with a wide grin. Definitely looked like a good place to start, and hopefully one that was filled with spooky things and treasure. Noting that Cass was trying to door, Eva took a knowing step back and waite--
--theeere it went. The young woman threw both of her arms up in the air and let out a whoop. "Way to go!"
If Chara had hands, she would be burying her face in them right about now.

Cass stood up again triumphantly, hands on her hips. "Well y'know, I just had to press 'A' a lot." she laughed. "And take a bit of damage of debris." In her head, Nicodemus groaned. He was mentally achieving the double face palm right then. He knew he'd picked a special one, but he'd never actually seen her rebound off of someone who just reinforced the strangeness like this.
Sigh.
Brushing herself off, Cass took a glance around the house before pulling her scarf up over her nose. "Looks kinda dusty in here - definitely nobody in here recently. Which means more treasure for us!"
By treasure she most likely meant 'silverware and furniture' at this point, but there were certainly a few rooms they could go explore. "If you need a door opened more gently, let me know. I am a master lock picker, after all." Cass looked back to Eva and winked.Kaiyumi there's not an 'x' in my username, haha. razz Also make up whatever in the house.

Laughing, the girl clapped her hands together. "Well, at least nothing lunged out at us, right? I mean, I was never really good at quick time events..." Her reflexes had gotten better since becoming a Hunter at least, but back when she had actually had the chance to play video games...
...Many a death happened due to her inability to process--or expect--quick time events fast enough.
Leaning forward, she peered into the house, eyes narrowing warily as she tried to get a decent glimpse into the darkness. "Yeah, looks really dusty...but it should be okay, right?" She hummed thoughtfully, and then let out a little laugh at the treasure comment. Hopefully they'd manage to find some neat stuff in here!
Giving Cass a grin and a thumbs up at the lock-pick offer, Eva finally stepped into the house, grimacing as the old floorboards creaked beneath her weight. Holding a hand over her nose and mouth, she scanned the hallway warily, and then peered into the living room to the right. "Well," She said, her voice slightly muffled, "Doesn't look like there's a ton in here--besides the row of porcelain dolls on the fireplace mantel."
Though she probably should have sounded creeped out, the girl sounded...somewhat excited instead. "Think they're haunted?"demon_pachabel XD OH YES I added the x in after because I edited my post twice to fix the formatting + didn't want to ping you too much @__@ Did the initial notice go through, or no? "I used to live in quick time events." Cass replied. "So basically what we're doing right now is kind of like what I did for eleven years before jumpin' in on hunter business. It's grand fun." She didn't clarify more than that - life labs had all those tapes hidden away somewhere. Somewhere nice and safe waiting for someone to watch them all.
Cass had taken a few steps towards the kitchen when Eva had pipped up about the mantel having porcelain figures over it - which immediately sounded much more interesting than what she was doing and drew her over into the living room as well.
They looked innocent enough for dusty and slightly cracked things.
"Totally. Figures, pianos, doors, lamps and letter openers all seem to be the first things to show off for some reason. TVs too." she listed them off as she cross over to the mantel to pick one of the figures up.Kaiyumi It did. XD And that makes sense!

Eva shot Cass a wide-eyed, curious glance at her words, but made no move to pry any further. While she wasn't the most tactful person around, she always thought that pre-Hunter lives were a little personal and lived under the assumption that not everyone wanted to talk about them.
So she instead turned her full attention to the awesome and creepy atmosphere at hand.
"Or a radio," She agreed, tapping her chin thoughtfully as she scanned the room. "Maybe something will suddenly turn on as we try to leave the room. It's be all quiet, and then suddenly the buzz of white noise in the background..."
Again, she sounded more enthusiastic than anything. She moved to examine the living room table, but came away only with a thick layer of dust as she swiped her finger over the grayed surface. "Anything neat with the dolls? Eyes that stare into your soul, maybe?" Eva asked, her voice tinged with hope.

"Well if it's a radio, we're going to want to keep that with us. Might let us know when the creepies are coming." A little too much Silent Hill. Or just enough Silent Hill. Radios and Cameras. Clearly she didn't carry the right things around with her to help survive against all of the oncoming monster slaughter.
Cass turned the doll she was holding over to look at the bottom, brows raising before she turned to Eva. "Hey, Eva." she held the bottom of the doll up Only to show her a mouth on the bottom of the figurine. "I don't think that's normally where a mouth should go, actually...." Which prompted her to look to another figurine and pick it up to look at the bottom. "..This one has an eye...."

Cass had a good point. Eva made a mental note to tuck away any handheld radios if she managed to come upon one, but until then, it looked like there was something else that she should have been focusing on.
Perking up at her name, she moved back to Cass' side, head cocked to the side. She didn't even get a chance to open her mouth and ask what was up before she immediately noticed the unusual underside doll the other girl was holding up. Was that--
"...............what. What?" She immediately picked up one of the other ones, startled to find another eye staring back at her.

Cass nodded in agreement. "No kidding. Why would you put a face on this side of a doll. Maybe we'll find a big faceless doll somewhere and have to insert these into it to give it a real face or something."
Because somehow that seemed like the only reason these things should have existed. Seriously. They were creeeeepppyyyyyy. But in a really pleasant way, in Cass' opinion. Turning over a few more dolls - more eyes and mouths, Cass couldn't help but note - "No noses. I guess noses would be more comical than creepy."

"That would be awesome," Eva beamed, as the thought of a giant, creepy doll puzzle apparently excited the girl rather than unnerved her, "And then after we put everything in correctly, its jaw drops open and allows us entrance through a small door to a hidden room..." It had been a long, long time since she had played any sort of video games, but apparently her overactive imagination had been having a grand time with coming up with scenarios. She chuckled at Cass' comment, setting down the doll she had been holding. "I suppose so! But even if there is a puzzle waiting for us that uses these dolls...there are too many to carry. I suppose if we really do run into a giant doll head, we can come back and grab whatever we need." Which was unlikely, but she could (and would) hope.

"Or it suddenly animates and tries to eat us before a door is suddenly found behind the ever-so-suspicious blanket hanging on the wall." Cass suggested in turn. Clearly she liked the parts where things tried to eat her. Just a little bit.
Never the less, Eva's mind was enough to rival her own ideas.
"That's true. We're not even allowed to pick up the items until we find out we need them in thirty minutes just to have to run through a few million hallways and avoiding some sentient teddy bears that are trying to chew your ankles off..." Because all children's toys were actually evil and trying to kill you. "And let's not forget to pick up anything shiny and gem like. Might have creepy voices in it..."

"And I'm sure the eye pieces we set in would suddenly start bleeding," Eva added, and by her chipper and even tone, it sounded like she was talking about something as mundane as the weather. It would have been interesting if a third (saner?) person was here, just to see what their reaction to the girls could be...
They'd probably be smart enough to book it.
She shuddered slightly at the idea of demonic toys coming after them. She could most definitely see a row of knife-wielding dolls intercepting them in the hallway, glass eyes glinting in the light--
"Oh, yeah. Gotta pick up all of those gems! And huh...do we need to collect extra weapons just in case?" It was technically a moot point since they had their partners but it wasn't a survival horror without a ton of weapons!

"Better search all the closets for Ammo for sure!" Cass added just as chipper. "And if it looks like it can be dangerous to a monster, better safe than sorry." Because the last thing they needed was to be in a hallway full of monsters and doom without a paddle up the creek or whatever.
Putting the dolls down, Cass took another look around the room before heading to the hallway to start looking through other rooms. "Maybe we should check the kitchen. We'll find either a weapon, a monster. or both. One of which will likely be in the fridge."

Eva was more than happy to give Cass a cheerful salute, one hand lifted to her head while the other was propped up on her hip. "Yeah, will make sure to check all the closets, of course! We'd better gather and stockpile whatever we think we'll need." Like five first aid kits, and ten health drinks...
Why didn't they have a bag of holding or hammerspace? How nice that would be...
"Kitchen sounds like a good idea," She agreed, following after the other girl before turning her attention to the aforementioned room, "And if there isn't a monster in the fridge, I'm sure that there will be some piece of questionable, pulsing meat."

"Oh, naturally. Also we might want to check the mirrors to see if we need to walk into them for some strange reason." Because clearly walking into mirrors and into Silent Hill was a plan that she shouldn't have been questioning. It all made perfect sense.
Not that they'd actually make it through the looking glass, but Cass would at least give it a shot!
Walking into the kitchen, Cass made mental note of three things off the bat. 1) It was really dusty, 2) There was a strange void in the dust on the counter, 3) It really looked like someone else had done a walkthrough of the room.
"Hmmmm....."

"It'd be neat if there was an otherworld we could walk into," Eva agreed, even if "neat" wasn't really the word most would use when it came to a nightmarish, rusting, and bloody world. Truthfully, Eva would probably be very, very wary if she were actually to be thrust into such a world, but at present she was kind of just...drunk off of the fun of bouncing horror tropes off of Cass.
God forbid a Pyramid Head with a hundred nurses actually suddenly appear and surround them.
But that didn't seem very likely at all, which was reassuring at least. Upon reaching the kitchen, Eva immediately made a beeline towards the cabinets, only to pause when she realized the same thing that Cass already had. Brows scrunching in confusion, she took a step back and stared.
"Did someone beat us here?" ...Or maybe there was something in this house?! Oooooooooooh~
