Kids? Neh? He didn't have any ki-...Riiiight, he wasn't Rastian right now, he was Inuk. Still, the mere thought of having children made him blush. That would require finding a partner, and finding a partner wasn't in the cards right now. He sighed and nodded along with Missy, but smiled as she spoke about people calling her crazy for adventuring at her age.
"Nonsense," He said. "If you've got the heart for adventure at your age, you'd better use it while you still can."
As he finished his little bit of inspirational messaging, his eyes turned upwards to see the young woman running towards them. He cocked an eyebrow at her idly as she fussed over Missy and eventually nodded.
"Not a problem, she was very nice and I enjoyed talking to her." He replied, before his eyes grew wide. Quickly he rose to his feet and bowed his head towards her. "It is with great honor that I meet you miss Vescillea. I am Rastian. You had sent for me this morning by messenger, but the storm stopped me from arriving as promptly as I would have liked. Please, forgive me if I have made you wait."

The young woman raised an eyebrow, surprised by the formality of Rastian as he bowed before her. Missy by now was patting Vescillea's hand looking quite pleased with herself as if it had been her secret plan all along to bring Vescillea here to find the boy.
"Look Vescillea... I found Inuk, mai hasn't he grown?" The old woman cackled clicking her tongue once more on the few teeth she had remaining. Vescillea gave a small smile and patted the old woman's hand a moment before returning her attention to Rastian.
"Ah... yes Missy, he sure has grown... why don't you go sit down while I catch up with him?" The young woman was obviously trying to humor Missy though Missy had other plans as she gave a laugh and pulled away before now continuing on her hobbling walk back to the trail and up the mountain.
Once out of hearing range, Vescillea turned back to Rastian though her gaze betrayed her worry for Missy.
"I appreciate you humoring Missy, in her old age she tends to... forget things... and with this storm it would have been hard to make it on time to meet with me." Taking a deep breath she released it slowly, it was easy to see that she was trying to compose herself.
"Rastian I have a task of great importance for you. I need a feather from the elusive Fire bird. I need you to get me the feather and bring it to Enlil so that it can be used to strengthen my bow."

"Don't worry about it, she was no trouble to me at all." Rastian replied. "I live in Mez with someone who forgets his name and his pants whenever it's convenient for him to do so. She was darling." He chuckled lightly and leaned slightly forward as she spoke of the fire bird. Wait, flaming birds? FLAMING BIRDS? WHAT? He looked shocked for a moment and leaned backwards, but eventually nodded, although warily.
"Anything, of course." He said. "But two things. One, where should I start looking for this bird? Two, who is Enlil? I don't always talk to people on my journeys, so I miss quite a few names and faces."

A small smile quirked on the corner of Vescillea's mouth; after all, watching the boy's range of emotions flit across his face was rather amusing. She was, of course, pleased that he asked questions instead of hurrying off and getting himself lost; the Firebirds were hard to find as they tended to nest in tall mountain ranges.
"To find the nesting sites of the Firebirds you must go to the northern most part of Sauti and find the tallest of their mountains. Refrain from killing any of the birds as they are fairly rare and elusive. I only need one of their plumes to enhance my bow, but if you are able to gather more I will not object," The blonde woman explained with a slight nod of her head, though she looked over her shoulder as if to make sure that Missy hadn't gotten lost again, though she was still hobbling away at her turtle speed.
"Once you find the feather you can locate Enlil in Yera, a settlement found in Tale; he is a member of the Leaf Tribe and is fairly well known, so once you get there you should ask for him immediately. I am sure you will have no trouble locating him." Vescillea continued as she nodded her head, "May the winds bless your journey Rastian."
[You may now write out Rastian's journey to Sauti; this can be as long as you wish to further develop your character's quest. Acquire the feather through writing and in an appropriate manner and only stop writing once you get to Yera]

Tallest mountain in northern Sauti, don't kill the flaming birds, bring back one or many feathers it doesn't matter, okay! It sounded reasonable! He smiled and nodded towards Vescillea as she left.
"You can count on me, M'am! I won't let you down!" He called, before hurrying off towards the mountains. The tallest mountain was the furthest one away, which was a bit of a hinderence, to those who hated to climb, that is. Rastian loved to climb, it was something that had been a part of him since birth. Trees, rocks, mountains... They were all climbable things that he adored.
His eagerness to climb and, thus, his thirst for adventure, propelled his legs forward. What were these flaming birds like? Were they really on fire? Did they spout fire? His mind swirled with images and ideas of just how these creatures were going to appear. Would they be red, orange, and yellow? Or were they going to be a completely different set of colors? It would be interesting to see them! He could hardly wait!
Before he knew it, he was climbing. The tallest mountain was quite rocky and unstable, but despite the occasional profanity directed towards a fallen rock or a slipped finger, he managed to climb half of the way before dark.
"Ugh..." He groaned, giving his sore fingers a stretch. "If I want to get anywhere tomorrow, I'd better rest now..."
He placed his things along a grassy spot and piled a few rocks near the edge of the cliff, just in case he rolled a few feet in his sleep, before laying down against the side of the mountain.

Day: 1 Location: Tallest Mountain In Northern Sauti Entry:
Woke up today to a batch of storm clouds. It didn't look to good for traveling upwards for most of the morning, so I stayed put. However, it did clear by mid-afternoon, giving me just enough light for a good three hours of climbing. I know I have much more ahead of me if I want to reach these birds, wherever they are.
Food is good, water is good, no other problems to report. Karma best not choose now as a time for being spiteful!
Will write more as the days go on.

Day: 2 Location: Tallest Mountain In Northern Sauti Entry:
I've made it closer to the top, which is very good, but I've had to drop a few satchels just to ease the strain on my back. They weren't filled with anything too important and were are fairly common place materials. Nothing to fuss about. Even the bags were old and in need of repair. No skin off my back.
A few times now, I've seen what looks to be smoke up on the top of the mountain, but it seems rather... Odd. It looks like how my breath would look if I were wandering in Zena. It's just seems... Steam like, not smoke like. Maybe these are Steambirds and not Firebirds?
Mn, time for rest. Will write soon.

Day: 3 Location: Tallest Mountain In Northern Sauti Entry:
I've made it as far as I can tonight and from what I can tell, I'll be able to reach the top tomorrow morning if I keep my pace the way it is. The steam-like formations I saw yesterday are growing quite profuse, and seem to be coming from one location at the very peak of the mountain. I'm beginning to wonder if Vescillea slurred her words and said "Firebirds" instead of "Firebird", because my instincts are telling me that this is one bird and it's one hell of a big bird.
All in all, duty calls, therefore I must complete the task. Good bye for now.

Day: 4 Location: Tallest Mountain In Northern Sauti Entry:
My suspicions have been confirmed, this bird is HUGE! How in the hell does something like this even exist?! It's not even made of fire, either! It's rainbow and shiny and whaaaaaat?!
Oh crap, oh crap! I think it's spotted me! How do I get away from something this large!?

"Easy now, easy now! I don't want to hurt you!" Rastian cried, backing as far away from the Firebird as possible without falling off the edge of the mountain. This thing was not only huge, but bright! It's feathers were blinding his eyes! How was he supposed to know where the edge was if his couldn't see where he was going? He was going to DIE! Vescillea had sent him up here to DIE!
Suddenly, before he had a chance to really panic, he was lifted up into the air and placed in a large straw nest. He raised his head and watched as the Firebird stepped into the nest and sat, before nuzzling against him. He gave the bird a very odd stare and raised his hand to pet it's belly, which he was currently pressed up against. It was... Warm...
"You don't want to eat me, do you...?" He asked, rather cautiously.
The Firebird remained still and closed it's eyes, huffing out puffs of vapor as it drifted off to sleep. Rastian remained in his spot against the bird and found himself falling asleep, too.

Day: 5 Location: Pressed up against a giant bird on top of a giant mountain! Entry:
Okay, so, the bird likes me for some reason and is treating me as if I am it's baby. WHAT? WHAAAAAT? I mean, it could be worse, I suppose, it could want to eat me or kill me. But still, please, let me go! I have a deadline!
The only thing good about being squished between the nest and the bird is the ability to know when it falls into a deep sleep. I've plucked quite a few feathers from it's chest and one large one from it's wings. Now, all I have to do, is GET OUT OF HERE!

Day: 6 Location: Pressed up against a giant bird on top of a giant mountain! Entry:
The Firebird really seems to enjoy toying with my hair and messing with my cloak. My hood has been moved up and down repeatedly as amusement, for the bird at least, and my hair has been salivated on. YEP. I HAVE BIRD SPIT IN MY HAIR!
I've plucked a few more feathers out of retaliation, especially from the wings. The feathers from the chest and the belly are rather downy...
I'm beginning to suspect that I'm dealing with a baby Firebird, and not an adult...
CRAP.

Day: 7 Location: Utterly unsure Entry:
WELL, I WAS RIGHT! That was a BABY FIREBIRD! The mother bird came back and got all pissed off about me being in the nest and the baby bird got all upset about me being tossed off the mountain! SERIOUSLY! I got flung from THE BLOODY MOUNTAIN!
Thankfully, I was able to grab onto a ledge as I was falling down, but now I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere. I have the feathers required of me, but no idea how to get back down the mountain!
And don't I have to go to Yera after this? Isn't that where that painted weirdo lived? AUGH! I HATE TALE! Why can't this Enlil guy be normal and live in Sauti or something?
It's imperative that I get sleep now, because I'm going nuts just thinking about how much MORE I have to do. I can't wait until this journey is OVER!

Day: 7 pt.2 Location: Base of mountain Entry:
After a short nap, I've managed to scale my way down the mountain and figure out where I am. While I'm not certain of my positioning towards Tale, or Yera for that matter, I think it's best if I leave the start of that horrible journey for tomorrow. I'll set up camp just before I reach the boarder and stare off into my impending fate, which is sand, hot sun, and annoying locals. YAY!
The feathers are safe and in good condition, will write more in the morning.

Day: 8 Location: THE DESERT Entry:
I hate the desert, I hate the desert, I HATE, I HATE, I HAAAATE!
I don't understand how anyone could live out here in this wasteland where everything either burns, stings, or itches! Jauhar is far more hospitable than this mess of sand and AUGH!
Yera is two days away... Then this nightmare is OVER!
