She wasn't sure how walks helped with outages and rations, since walks sounded tiring and would probably cause her to need more food, but she wasn't curious enough to ask.

"I heard talk about farming our own food now that we can actually see the sun, so maybe you should go suggest a coffee bean plant if you're so desperate," Ariane looked up at the sky briefly before rolling her eyes at Jude; she was not sympathetic to his predicament at all.

"And the last time it happened, the whole island was covered in fog. You can't see the sun at all, and we had to sleep underground," She made a face at the memory, "In a room with various other hunters." It was terrible. And smelly. And she had never been happier to have her own room and privacy back.

"They're not going to let the island go without power for too long, since we'll be defenseless and what not," She shrugged, "So it should be up soon enough."

Jude let out a short laugh, "None of us signed up for this. It just happens and you push through it." He heard your quip about the coffee bean, Ariane. He wasn't going to dignify that with a response.

That was a lie.

The young man reached forward and poked Ariane's forehead, "I'll have you know, I don't have a green thumb, I'll just kill the plants if I try to grow anything."

He once had a cactus when his mother tried to help him learn about nurturing and caring for something. Sadly it died. It was slightly less traumatizing than a dead hamster but still traumatizing enough to keep Jude away from gardening.

"It sucked but at least we get to stay in our rooms if we really want to this time around," he agreed with Ariane. At Maebe's question he sort of just shrugged, "I didn't see any monsters and if you hadn't seen any then .. There may have been some other cause. I haven't really run around asking too many questions myself."

And he should be considering his division but...That required social skills.

"Oh." Was she disappointed that the cause wasn't monsters? No, her dreary answer was mostly caused by the fact that she would have rather known the cause of a problem, than just guess at it. No monsters meant nothing to fight and fix, and no foreseeable end to the darkness. So, that pretty much sucked.

Seeing as she wasn't the type to try and investigate either, Jude and Ariane had been her only chance for answers. Though they did know one thing she didn't.

"What's the Crystal Cave? Sounds pretty."

"It's pretty until it tries to kill you," Ariane still remembered that time when they were slowly being turned into crystal statues thanks to a certain vengeful staff, "Mmmm, as far as I know, Excalibur and Merlin are no longer there, which might explain the power outage... The Crystal Cave is out of bounds right now though, or I would show it to you."

Not surprising considering the events that occurred after the tear in the sky appeared... She could remember bits and pieces of that, but mostly just the beginning and the end. And those two were there.

"Oh, random question," She grinned, pulling Maebe a little closer because it was kind of funny to see her squirm, "What color should I dye my hair?" Yes, that question was directed at you too, Jude.

"Maebe...The idea of fictional kind of left the door when you became a Hunter. Everything you read in books or seen in movies is now real and probably ten times worse than what we see or read." Jude said replied simply. Jude didn't believe in letting people down gently. He did, however, believe in being a little supportive, "But that is why I'll watch out for you and anyone else I work with. If you're scared you can always come talk to me and I am sure Ariane is willing to help too, if you let her."

Congrats Ariane, it's a bouncing baby Hunter Trainee. Also the gender might be female. Jude was pretty sure Maebe wasn't a trap.

At the question he paused, "I dunno. If you wanted a natural hair color maybe try brown or black...? There's a s**t load of blondes running around so...Meh. Unnatural colors..I might suggest blue?"

"Blue." Maebe suddenly seemed interested. "I didn't realize blue was on the table. I change my mind, I vote blue."

Strange hair colors were always more fun.

"I can't believe you're telling me that everything from books and stuff is real.." She sighed in defeat. "I don't know if I'm really ready for all of this. I don't know what to not be afraid of anymore."

She rubbed her arm with one hand. It was a hard thing to admit, but there was no hiding it. She looked at Jude for a minute when Ariane recommended approaching him for help, but then she frowned and looked away. "I guess."

Kouhai wasn't so keen about being a kouhai.

"I have most of the colors that exist in the rainbow, except green" Ariane grinned; it wasn't difficult to guess where the green went, looking at her current hair color, "Three blues then. I guess I could commit to that... If you ever want to spice up your hair color, come to me~"

She winked at Maebe; yes, she's talking about you.

"Don't think maebe. Think yes. No shame approaching someone for help, especially since he already offered it," She laughed, holding Maebe against her as she straightened up a bit, and placed her other arm around Jude's shoulder, tugging him down, "Being a hunter is like spending a quarter of your life in school, and then being asked to geta job. You'll never be ready. You just got to grow some balls of steel, and do it."
