. . . This did not bode well.
"Oh! You know, Roland," Stormy said casually, swallowing her crestfallen look down. "He's in Mist too. Has a scythe named, um . . . Fiona? WAIT, Sylvia!"
It was possible to completely forget someone . . . ? No no, keep it together, Stormy. Keep it cool.
Sighing, she grasped the collected ends of Nevada's hare and shimmied the ponytail holder on, admiring her work for a moment and collecting her thoughts. "You knew him almost from the beginning of your hunter life?" she prompted gently. "Nice guy, has problems with his charge nowadays, friends?"

Nevada just shook her head. "Stormy, I'd know if I knew a guy named Roland." She blinked, "I've been on the island alone until you and Alaska. Well there was Lex at one point. And Otto. Are you sure you aren't talking about Otto?" No male mist hunter came to her mind besides Ian. And while he was charming, she wouldn't put him on the level of friends just yet. "You're starting to worry me Hun."

Try the inverse.
Stormy paused, trying to put together the fact that somehow you could forget a whole person from The Tear. then she took a deep breath and walked around Nevada until she stood before the gal.
"Sorry," she said with a sympathetic smile that didn't quite make it to her eyes. "It's just . . . He was a big deal to you. I remember you cried over him, so I guess I . . ." She trailed away and didn't bother to finish the thought.
There had been that final door right before they woke up. Was it possible Nevada had chosen to forget all those mistakes? Stormy felt mixed emotions come from the notion.
"He's a real person on this Island. You'll meet him sooner or later, so . . . Be careful, okay?" She folded her hands before her, fixing Nevada with a concerned look. "You have a history together, and I don't think he would've forgotten."

"A big deal?" For the life of her, a small set of panic started to rise. She didn't remember him. Nothing triggered about him. Nothing. There was nothing in her memory that had been related to him.
Or the memories of their relationship.
"I don't think....I didn't think you could lose a whole person in the tear." She breathed out, closing her eye. "He's a mist then, and we have history. I'll be careful." The last thing she needed was unwanted drama from a supposed guy she was suppose to know.
"Stormy..." Nevada tilted her head up, "Why would forgetting him take my memories of you away. Is there anybody else I may have forgotten?"

"I didn't know either. But it's not your fault, okay, Nevada?" And even if it was, it wasn't in Stormy's eyes. "I don't know exactly why it would take that out," she answered. "I guess you forgot it because a lot of our first meeting revolved around the problems you were having with him, so taking that away probably meant taking the whole memory out . . ."
Her smile turned a little sad despite her best efforts. So that was two people who didn't remember her so well. Two people very close to her.
"Maybe, maybe not? You'd have to search your memories to see if anything else is wiped away . . ." She extended her arms out. "I'm only good for hugs and words."

A small voice whispered that it was but...
"But I am not joking when I say I don't know Roland. I don't even have a smidge of anything involving him. Whatever it is." She reached up to pull Stormy into a hug. "but I remember being with you in the room, and when you told me you and Gale were dating, and getting you the disney movies and portable DVD players and stuff. I remember I was in a coma, and you were the one that was there to wake me." She breathed in, "I didn't forget any of those important memories."
It bothered her, because her friend looked so sad.
"I feel like I added to your burden. Stormy, tell me please." She gave a critical eye at Stormy, "Did you forget a memory about Gale...And did he forget one about you?"
she paused.
"Be honest with me Stormy."

She would have pressed the Roland subject, but Stormy didn't know how. It was clear Nevada didn't remember one lick of the poor Mist hunter and the misfortunes they went through . . . And she was not keen on reminding her of each mistake as it would have serve no purpose (except to upset Nevada even more for forgetting them probably). So Stormy pressed her lips together, losing her smile as she pondered her answer.
"I did forget something," she said at length, dropping her arms to her sides. "I forgot the moment I told him yes . . . But then I remembered it when I was with him earlier." Stormy still didn't sit right with that memory, but . . . there it was. Second place to Eva rebound girl. "We did something and I guess it triggered the memory. Gale had forgotten it too, that and the first time he met me. I guess I don't leave good first impressions, huh?"
She tried to chuckle at her own joke, but it sounded like a weak cough.
"So now it's confusing because he doesn't remember, a-and . . . things are stressful enough here with the power down. . . ." She didn't want to dwell on it, but there she was totally dwelling.

"Oh Stormy." That was pretty bad, if her memory had included something of Roland and Stormy together and she had forgotten Roland, thus the memory just...
"If you didn't leave a good impression Stormy..." Nevada took the girl's hands up and brought them to her cheeks, "I wouldn't be sitting with you in the room here. I'd be with Alaska instead. Or I'd be in my own room. Please know, That I don't take anything granted and the fact that even though I don't remember our first meeting, doesn't mean I don't remember everything else you've given me." Nevada let the hands drop.
"Let's take a breath together okay Pet." She took a deep breath. "The power is a easy fix, with time. But the Gale one....I wish I could help more." She shook her head, "You guys said yes again right? you guys reaffirmed your love?"

It was a testament to how close she was to people like Nevada and Gale that she didn't flinch when they touched her, let alone take her hands. Stormy welcomed the comforting gesture with a grateful look. "Thank you..." She had had fears of being forgotten in any capacity, so to hear Nevada say it didn't mess with anything was a great relief. "Not that I wouldn'tve minded having to reaffirm you as a sister again," she added as a light joke. "That was easy and fun! Make a whole service in Spanish just for you~"
Her smile faltered at Nevada's questions, however. Hands now free, she fiddled with a few strands of her by her ear. "We've been dating, what...a little over a month now, if my memory's right? There's no space for the L word, Nevada," she replied mildly. "And we're going slow again right now. Everything's delicate."

Nevada snorted before letting it go.
"I think that's the best option. I forget sometimes we shouldn't be in a hurry for life to happen." Nevada closed her eye.
"In the end, all we have is time on our side. Making the best of it." She whispered. "I hope its more happy memories, sometimes I am so tired of the suffering."

Thank you, bestie, for letting it go.
"Some people think the opposite," Stormy commented, playing devil's advocate for a moment. "Life's too short here to wait around, strike while the iron's hot, all that. It's a nice thought, but too impulsive for me . . . I'm not good at control if you let me go," she added with a small laugh, trying to alleviate the sobriety the conversation was leaning towards. "One time Mom didn't give me a curfew, and I pulled my first all nighter. Worst idea in the world afterwards, but totally fun~"
A thought crossed her mind, almost as though it had been waiting patiently for an opening. "Oh! Um, also about Gale . . . When I visited him, I told him he should stay closer to headquarters in case something happened, and he offered me the choice of staying at his place or rooming with me or something." Stormy clasped her hands together, slightly nervous of either idea. "So, fair to talk to you about that and all . . . What do you think? I told him to look for maybe another guy who wouldn't mind rooming together, but that might not work out since tensions are . . . kinda high right now."

Nevada's face fell in a instant.
"Do....Do you want to leave me?" This was a point in her life on the Island that she knew eventually would come. She just didn't think it so soon. "If...If you guys want to room together, I can move to Alaska's room or something..." she whispered.
"Because you and Gale should work things together. And tensions are high and stuff."

That sound you heard was the sound of Stormy's heart almost breaking.
"N-Nonononono!" she said quickly, waving her hands for emphasis (and partially out of panic). "No wait please, I don't want anyone moving out, that wouldn't be cool, n-not what I want at all--!" She actually looked shaken that Nevada would jump to that assumption.
"To be honest, um . . . I'm not sure how I'd feel, sharing just him and me. I-It'd be like we were living together or something, and that's--that's like way down the road, and he's got all those confusing emotions, and it'd just make it worse on him, and I'd be constantly thinking if I look stupid or something, and he'll say no I'm not because he's a gentleman and doesn't ever say no to me, it's like the most unreal thing ever--"
Stormy stopped herself, took a breath, and sighed it out, deflating. "I had two ideas to avoid that. Gale could, uh . . . share with us," she suggested casually, knowing that was probably far more awkward (not to mention space issues). "Or we could ask someone if they'd be roomies? I dunno, maybe I'm just pushing a topic that doesn't need to be pushed . . ." She gave another sigh and fiddled with her hair, frowning slightly. "I just . . . With the barrier down and all, I don't like the idea of him being alone out in the Towns, you know? What if something happened? Or am I being crazy? Or clingy? Nevada, be honest with meeeeee."

"Oh." Nevada made a huge sigh sound, mostly in relief because let's be honest here, her sister did leave her at the drop of a dime without much to go on. It wasn't that she was scared, but since sharing with Stormy, she had become dependent on the girl.
She had gotten comfortable with being a roommate with someone in a huge military division and being okay with it. It was home.
"I think...Um..." She had to realign her thoughts to accept that Stormy still wanted her to live there..."I don't think you are being clingy at all." She smiled now, "Maybe a little crazy, but that's normal. Its the stormy crazy, I am use to it..." She was falling back into teasing before hmming thoughtfully, "I think the best option is for us to ask around to see if someone will let him room with them for now? I mean I certainly don't mind sharing but there are differences of having a boy with us and well..." She looked over at Stormy before gesturing down to herself. "I can't walk around in my underwear if he is here." She tapped her chin now thoughtfully.
"He should ask Otto if he can room with him, Otto's a full hunter and has a pretty big room! Plus a pillow pile and stuff." Nevada nodded. "Plus they are both about the same size, I can see they'd have no issues with space right?"
"But back to original thoughts, I don't think you are being crazy or clingy. I think you are justified. The houses and the housing area has never been safe, and with Excalibur gone....Then again, Our dorms aren't that much safer either and all of us crammed together?" Nevada shook her head, "I'd feel better if he was here, but I wouldn't fault him for wanting to stay at his house."

"Stormy crazy?" She blinked at the term, wondering what she meant. "Oh yeah, terrible you couldn't walk around like that," she echoed with a little laugh. "But hmm...Otto? They're friends, right?" Or they knew each other at least, from the one time she saw them...And another full hunter meant big space like Nevada said. But maybe they shouldn't bother either of them at all; it wasn't like Gale couldn't take care of himself...Ugh, she hated overthinking things!
"I'll just...tell him to do what he wants," she decided with a sigh, guessing about how well that would go now that she had voiced her opinion. "If I push it I'll just look like some weird mothering girlfriend person thing."
Pause.
"No, really, 'Stormy crazy'...?"
