Letting herself in slowly, Twinkleshine placed her hands behind her back. "I'm Twinkleshine..." Her eyes looked around, surveying the room. "Your daughter said you had been hurt. I am a healer, though... honestly, from what she has said, I don't think I could be of too much use to your unless it's become infected."

She shrugged before continuing. "I tried to tell her that, but she seemed to be more concerned with my lack of meat to offer to her, and then insisted that I check up on you." The fauny paused, not coming any closer than about halfway between him and the door without further prompting on his part.

"I haven't been hurt" Thom replied quietly, "I made a sacrifice". He groaned, opened his eyes again and slowly pushed to sit. The angel looked towards Twinkleshine "I think I am mostly just in serious pain. Cela doesn't know more then that" he took in the fact that she was similar but yet different then his beloved Ama. "Come in... You are a lot like Ama, and yet different.". Thom didn't know how long it had been since he'd returned home, but figured it couldn't be extremely late, especially since this female had just arrived, apparently with one of his daughters.

Twinkleshine was quiet, letting the male speak and simply listening. Since becoming a mother, she really had learned to become much more patient with other's problems than she used to be. Nodding once as she was motioned to come in further, she obliged, her hands behind her back. "Ama...? I don't think I know her, but she's a faun, right?" She stopped, laughing and pointing up at her horn. "Is this what's different? It's because I'm a pony... fauny... I'm from a far away land called Equestria, where our princesses Celestia and Luna ruled over our kind. It has been many seasons since they brought us here and to the tree. Something about being lost acorns...?" Again she laughed, shrugging. "I'm a simple pae, so I don't really understand most of it."

Thom smiled weakly "That among other things are different between you, but yes she is a faun. Amadorine doesn't live in the tree, she lives here with me and our two daughters." He leans his elbows on his knees and rests his face in his hands. He was trying to ignore the pain he was feeling and the occasional dampness from any small drips that tickled his back. He really had thought Ama would be at home when he got there, but considering one of his daughters had brought this fauny home she wasn't. "She was an acorn once.. I don't know everything about her people, but I will learn. It is important to me, important that her people can trust me" he paused "I don't know if the Seer even comes close to trusting me.." he was rambling now, and his words were soft and pained. What he had in his system for the pain was slowly wearing off.

"And you are an angel... right?" At least, that's what she understood. Twinkleshine walked a bit closer, kneeling down and resting her hands on her knees to be at eye level with him. It was almost as if she was approaching a hurt child, though, to her, he might as well have been from the sadness in his tone. Maybe she should put all those dreams of fame away, become a caregiver of sorts... Not that it was important at this moment. "Lady Vanya is a very kind pae, and she only wants what is best for Amadorine and the tree. The faun seem to be a bit nervous to accept those who are not like them, especially those with wings," she paused, remembering what the girl had said, "I'm not exactly sure why, but your daughter said you came home wingless."

She moved to place a hand on his shoulder to catch his attention, giving him a soft, almost sad, smile. "That was to become closer to Amadorine and to earn the trust of the Tree, wasn't it?"

"Yeah, I was born an angel. I just don't feel the connection to angels that I once did though" he admitted looking towards her which was definitely easier once she lowered herself to his level. He listened to what she said about the Seer and nodded, he could understand that and it made sense to him. "Cela was a lil freaked out by it, I had to send her to hunt food just to be able to rest" He flinched at her touch, not because she wasn't an angel but due to the pain he still felt in that area from his removed wings "It was my sacrifice, I was willing to do about anything to prove I was serious with my request to Laisidhiel"

Her hand recoiled back at his flinch, moving to place it on her knees instead. It was a wonder she could keep crouching like this after all the walking she had done that day, but this was likely more important that some silly leg muscles. "A little is an understatement, I think. She thinks you were attacked, or some similar story." The girl was in no place to be giving advice; quite honestly, she still wasn't too sure what was going on here. An angel, disenchanted with his own kind, was now trying to become one in the tree? It seemed a great story of love.

"I think... You should talk with Amadorine before you go back to the trees. Learn about the tree from her, the way the faun think, how they act, their history as they know it." She smiled, nodding. "If you show your dedication to become one both in appearance and in thought, well... I think Lady Vanya and the tree would look kindly on that."

Though... there was something... strange... Tilting her head, she added one more thing, "Do you intend to live within the tree after this?"

"I intend to learn all I can about the Tree, Ama has mentioned some to me, not particularly a lot though as yet. As for living there... that's up to Ama, the leadership if I pass whatever test Laisidhiel puts before me, and of course my girls." he sighs slightly and is relieved when her hand isn't putting pressure on his tender back. "Can... can I ask you to do something for me before the pain fully returns? I don't think I can ask Cela to do it, she's too freaked, and well.. spoiled, even though thats my fault"

"Well... if you're not going to live in the tree, these tests you're going through seem a bit silly. It doesn't matter who you are if you're on the outside; it only matters if you want to go in." Pausing, she carefully chose her words before continuing. "I don't think the girls will be allowed in. I... Well, I had to leave the tree when I adopted one like them. I can return, but she cannot."

Maybe it was cruel to be telling him this after he'd already given up such a large piece of himself, but Twinkleshine figured sooner was better than later. She tilted her head. "I could... try? What do you need done?"

"We'll see what happens, I'm not doing this just for a place to live" he rests his elbows on his knees and puts his weight on his arms. The stumps on his back still were a mess and he knew it, he could feel it. "Can you help me clean this up, perhaps wrap whats left back there in something? I think we might have something around here that would work, just not totally sure what"

Nodding, she did not push the subject further. Perhaps she was tired from today's journey, and that was why she had such calmness, or perhaps it came from motherhood? Who knew?

But tending to wounds directly. Well... She was inexperienced to say the least. Twinkleshine was here to provide support though, not to complain or make him feel uncomfortable, so she simply nodded. "Okay." Turning, she looked for what appeared to be a couple of stray sheets laying on the ground. "Will these work?"

Her inexperience would easily match his own but he didn't feel he could leave them undressed forever, not if he wanted to prevent infections and have them heal. He also didn't feel he could ask his daughter to deal with it, she already was freaked out and would likely do a very poor job as she poked at it or just simply freaked out.

He looked up when she picked up the sheets that had been discarded to the floor and nods "Yeah those will be fine" he replies and turns sideways on the bed as he hears the tearing of fabric sheets. "Thanks" he adds quietly almost as an afterthought

She was quiet as she ripped the fabric, relying on her mediocre (at best) knowledge of this sort of thing to go about it. She sat behind him, placing a hand softly between his shoulderblades and on his skin. "May I... kiss the stubs before I wrap them...?" Twinkleshine asked, pausing a moment before she explained. "It will make sure they're not infected."

He glanced back at her when she asked her initial question, his brow raised in confusion. Then she clarified her reasons "I guess" he says with a shrug and looked forward once more letting her do whatever it was she felt needed done. He winced whenever she made contact with the stubs but did his best not to flinch or pull away. He knew once it was over all he'd want to do is curl up and wait for the rest of his family to get home/

Nodding, Twinkleshine hesitated as she leaned forward. No matter how many times she did this, the idea of having to touch something like this with her mouth was always... well... it was disgusting, quite frankly. Luckily, as long as she made a soft contact, it was fine.

Her lips lightly brushed on the open part of his wound for a moment, removing any toxins or microbes that had been present there as they pulled away. It was then that she gently wrapped them, using perhaps two strands of the fabric strips and tying them together in a knot. Then she repeated the motion with his other wound, only pausing to wipe the blood from her lips as she finished.

Yeah. This would always be kind of gross.

Setting her hands on her lap, she quietly asked. "Do you need anything else?" He may have been a stranger, an angel that those in the tree always seemed to warn of, but at this moment he was in pain. None should be forced to face prejudices in such a situation.
