"...Huh." He mused. No one there. He checked his door knob, finding it in working order, and closed the door again. "Must have been my imagination~."

<>

"I'm talking to you though!"

<>

Dylon laughed a bit, ruffling his hair and moving toward his bed. Nap or more studying of Molly's cue cards...?

Three . . . four . . . five . . . She sighed out her breath once she was sure Dylon wasn't really going to look around. Man, this guy was laid back; no wonder Nevada made fast friends.

Making sure she looked presentable and not suspiciously winded from nearly being caught, Stormy crept out of her room fixed her hair, stepped up to the door, and knocked. "Helloooooo, neighbooooor~" she sangsung through the wood. "Are you in?"

Woah! A real visitor this time. Dylon smiled brightly and opened the door for her. "Ah! Hi there!" He beamed, opening the door wider with a friendly expression.

"Do you sleep next door then?" She did say she was a neighbour! He extended a hand. "I'm Dylon. What's your name?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 27, 2013 8:38 pm

"Yup! Room 177." She took his hand and shook it most excitedly, as her normal not at all sneaking self would have.

"Stormy. Nevada's my bestroomiesis," she greeted him with a chirp. "In laymen terms being my best friend, roommate, and Mist sister. She told me a cute guy was moving in next door, so I thought I'd be friendly and come see for myself!"

Derpy was a better word for him~

"I'm not interrupting something am I?" Stormy tried to surreptitiously peek into his room.

"You are? Oh awesome!" He beamed happily. "Nevada is a really sweet girl, huh? It's very nice to meet you, Stormy! Is that a nickname?" He'd never heard of such a name before.

"Oh not at all! I was just going to spend my spare time studying some cue cards I got from Molly. She gave me a tour of the facility and leant me her information cards, you see." He seemed very happy about it. "I really wanted to memorise them so I'd know what to do in different situations and not get lost."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 27, 2013 9:16 pm

She beamed. "Yes it is because reasons ♪, and yes, she is very sweet~" Oh God was it already happening did she have to watch this guy even closer??

< < Your investigation is absolutely riveting, > > Thane drawled in a monotone.

"Cue cards?" Stormy echoed curiously. "Huh! That's a good idea . . . So you've seen all of Deus then? Kinda big, huh? Feels like a huge college campus or something!"

"Yes! Cue cards. She used them to explain each section of the building and island for me." Dylon stepped away from the door a bit, so he could talk to Stormy without looking like he'd duck away at any point in time. His room was visible behind him; tidy, but barren since he was new. The visible clothing were all bright and colourful like what he was wearing currently. There was also a family photo on the night table.

"Even bigger, you know? It's like something out of a sci-fi show. Very futuresque, eh?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 27, 2013 10:51 pm

"Aww~ That's sweet of her! Many sweet people on this island." Room was still clean--too new for her to determine what the state normally would be . . . Bright shirts meant a happier attitude usually (or a colorful one), and she could assume it was the family photo by his bed even though she didn't have a clear line of vision to it (made sense, generally happy kid just moving in to a cold white sterile world, gotta keep the family in mind, gotta remember their faces even if they forget yours in time--)

"Totally," she agreed with a bob of her head. "All I need's the TARDIS whooshing in and I'm set! Friend of mine already has Ten's suit and everything. Have you seen the runic weapons yet? Those are totally from a sci fi show if I didn't know any better--"

Wait no don't ramble stay on topic focus you have one mission.

"So, um, how long have you been here?" Stormy prompted him, hands folded before her. "I'm guessing within a week, huh?" It'd explain why he didn't notice her at all (because why would she speak about skill, regardless of how much she'd been practicing?). "How're you taking to your partner? I know that was the weirdest part for me when I first got here!"

Dylon was getting all excited when Stormy started talking geek to him, a big grin plastered over his face. He hadn't seen Doctor Who, but he'd seen plenty of the fandom on Tumblr. He knew enough to appreciate the references.

He was a little disappointed when she veered off the nerd talk, but smiled nonetheless. "Mmmhmm! Yeah. Not too long ago. A week or so." A very lonely week, save for the time spent with Molly.

"Ah, Vahn? Well It was very surreal at first, having someone in your head. He's a bit of a wet blanket."

<>

"But I got used to it after a few days. It kind of makes you feel whole, doesn't it?" He shrugged lightly with an ever present smile. "How long have you been here? Longer than me, I wager?"

"Whole"? "Of a sort," she agreed mildly, unwilling to really get into the complexity that was her relationship with Thane. "But, um, yes! I've been around since Thanksgiving last year actually." Saying it out loud, it made her think of how far she'd come in the past few months . . . Had it really been so long?

"I'm what they call an intermediate trainee," Stormy went on to explain, "in case Molly's cards didn't tell you. You're a basic trainee, and the top dogs are full on hunters! And if you like something specific in your field, you can go all specialized and stuff and get your own little emblem so you can show the cool kids how it's done~"

And also more moneyyyyy.

"You kinda came at a weird time, sorry about that . . . We do get the occasional crisis or quirky event to keep you on your toes--last time, one of the division leaders turned the cafeteria into a pool!" she said with a giggle. "That's why you can sorta still smell chlorine in there."

Whether he had learned this from the cards or not, review was key to success! Dylon nodded firmly. So he was bottom tier. Made sense. That just gave him that much more to work toward! Dylon was a goal oriented sort of person. "Specialization, huh? Is there something you're gunning for?" The more you know, right?

"Ah, so this isn't terribly normal?" What with sudden no power, mysterious fog gone and the food getting worse. The latter he thought had not been possible.

Suddenly Dylon sighed, "Aaaw.. yeah. I heard about the pool from Molly and from Nevada. Just my luck." A big old frown pulled at his mouth.

"Mmm . . . Maybe. I don't know what I'd specialize in, and I have a lot of time before I can really start thinking abotu being a full hunter anyway, but I've been considering it," Stormy told him with a tiny nod. "Miss Candace, she's a Mist too, she's specialized in being a trainer! And uh Gale, he does intel on the horsemen--you, um, got the memo on those guys, right? They're a nasty lot. There's also a specialization for scoping out weapon candidates and getting them converted, for another example. You get more pull as a specialized hunter, so that's something to consider."

She gave Dylon a sympathetic smile and shook her head at his question. "We'll be okay, though," she assured him. "We're hunters because we know how to survive. We'll get through this, too." She paused, then allowed herself to reach out and lightly pat Dylon's shoulder with several fingers before quickly retreating. "I don't wanna take up more of your time, but is there anything you wanna ask me? Not that you can't later anyway 'cause, you know, neighbors and all. We're a quiet pair, honest!"

"Wow.. this place is pretty scary, huh?" Dylon chuckled lightly, rubbing his neck. Just what had he signed himself up for?

He gave a smile as she patted his shoulder, giving a firm nod. Stormy had given him valuable information to study further. "Thank you, Stormy! I really appreciate you introducing yourself, You've been very helpful too. If I can ever return the favour, let me know, okay?"

"Haha! And I trust you're quiet. Don't worry yourself about it."

Aww . . . No, don't start feeling bad about snooping now. This had been in the name of sisterhood! Besties! Nice guy or not, she had a duty to watch out for Nevada because family.

"You'll find I'm a little worrier when it comes to inconveniencing people," Stormy said with a simple smile and shrug."'Do not disturb', right? But it's been no trouble, Dylon, and it's been good to meet you! I'll give you my number once we've got power back on and stuff. Plus, you know. Neighbors!"

Had she said that too much? She was starting to forget how to small talk now that she was out in the open and whatnot, and thus she stepped away shyly. "So, um, I'll see you around?"

How do you do goodbyes not awkwardly with acquaintances again.

"Awww it wouldn't be an inconvenience. Well, I'll just make sure to keep a keen eye out in case you need help!" He said with a thumbs up. It was the least he could do! Getting rid of the Big Brother radar was tough.

"Yep! See you around, neighbour!" He grinned, waving happily before going back inside his room, shutting the door softly.

What a nice girl! He was so lucky to have such sweet neighbours. Added bonus was how cute they were.
