The young shifter's hands tightened on her weapon but loosened abruptly when she felt the sudden chill. It was a couple walking together that happened to walk right through her. She shivered involuntarily, but at least it confirmed her idea that they couldn't see her. Once again, she tightened her grip and focused back on the couple just to see a little girl running up to them. When the woman picked up the little girl, it was like the girl stared at her and made eye contact. Although it was unnerving, Kelina stared back, not breaking eye contact. After all she'd seen so far, Kelina was going to approach everything like it was real, which unless her eyes and brain were deceiving her, it was. "You can see me." She stated more as a fact than a question, hoping that she would finally get some answers that way.

The little girl hung from her parent's arms and held eye contact with Kelina for just a moment longer before turning her head away.
The three people walked away from Kelina, the little girl swinging her legs and seeming to laugh and play with her parents as they went, though it was all whispered gibberish blending together with the whispers of the crowd of people around them.
They rounded a crumbling wall of debris and disappeared. And Kelina was left without a clue of what was happening.
Moments later, the little girl appeared again from the other side of the wall, and ran towards Kelina, stopping short halfway between the wall and her and looked Kelina in the eyes again. Her mouth whispered gibberish, her lips not making any sense, before she mouthed Come with me.
The little girl took off again behind the wall, waiting to be followed.

Kelina's eyes narrowed as the little girl turned her head and left with her parents. So that was that, she was just going crazy then! Perhaps she should try to get home before she passes out in the middle of the nowhere. But it seemed it wasn't over yet, just as Kelina started to turn around to find her way home, she noticed the little girl in the corner of her eye. Freezing, and turning her way, she watched as the girl seemed to say nothing and everything, though none of it was comprehensible. Then three little words made it out, 'Come with me.' It was the first thing she had gotten this whole time, so why not? Kelina was determined to get to the bottom of this. The girl took off behind the wall quickly, and Kelina jogged to catch up always watching her step.

The little girl was waiting for Kelina as she rounded the corner to the wall. It was blocking the view of a good portion of the circle behind it, and as the way cleared the rest of the clearing came into view.
The people were still going about their business as if having not noticed either the girl or Kelina, and the ruins continued, but there was a beautiful statue looming from the opposite end of the clearing that Kelina had started from. It was of Serin, the Shifter goddess of the moon, and the statue seemed to shimmer and glow in the moonlight. Her face looked serene, with heavy-lidded eyes she almost looked dreamy, as if she could see the entire universe in her face. Her arms were outstretched and her gown flowed freely behind her.
Under her base was a set of stairs that led into darkness. It looked as if the entrance was once covered and decorated in carved stone, holding a roof over the entrance, but that was no more. The remains of the building that once was littered the ground and blocked pieces and parts of the stairwell below it. The roof was no more than an idea, not a piece of it left standing.
The little girl that had waited so patiently for Kelina to catch up took off once more, pausing before the steps to motion with her arms to follow, and descended the stairs, disappearing out of sight.

Kelina stared in awe as she rounded the corner, never had she seen such a beautiful statue of her shifter goddess Serin. This depiction of her was so beautiful and intriguing. She was the goddess that Kel looked up to, and to find this statue here was intriguing. Kelina was so taken aback that she almost didn't notice that the girl went under the statue via stairs. The stairs seemed like a bad idea, descending into the earth in darkness? But it was underneath her goddess, surely her goddess would protect her...right? With a sigh, she walked up to the opening and put her foot on the first stair, then feeling with her other foot for the next. She tried to keep a hand on both walls so that she wouldn't bump into anything. Kelina wasn't one to normally do this, but she just had this feeling that she had to.

The stairwell was dark, descending out of view of the moon and twisting and spiraling down as it went. As Kelina dipped further into the ground, the stairs straightened out their turning and she could see a small glow coming from further down the tunnel.
The stairs stopped, still in darkness, and it opened up into a spacious vault. The small glow was the little girl, guiding Kelina now as she continued further into the space. Her small body let out just enough light to make out the shapes of columns and arches reaching overhead, filling the tall space with support so deep into the ground. There were candelabras hanging from the walls, unlit for centuries at least. The place smelled musty, and damp from small leaks to the structure, leaving little puddles on the floor that bounced light upward and giving more glow to the room.
The little girl ran forward, looking over her shoulder watching for Kelina to follow her to the end of the hall and to a large door. She stood still finally, waiting for Kelina to approach so she could give her her message.

As the stairwell opened up into a larger space, Kelina's eyes widened. Light from the little glowing girl illuminated the space just enough to see shapes of old columns and arches. There were things hanging from the walls that looked like they were supposed to be lit. An overall musty smell filled this place which Kel attributed to the puddles on the ground. Paying attention to the task at hand again, she noticed that the girl had ran across the hall to a large door and she stood there. That must be where she's trying to take me, Kelina thought. Her steps through the hall were just as slow and measured as they had been before, anything could sneak up on her in here without her knowing it so she had to be careful. She stopped just a few feet away from the little girl but said nothing for fear of scaring her away. Kelina's hand was tight holding her bow but she made no move to notch an arrow so the little girl didn't think that she wished to harm her...if she even could.

The little girl looked up at Kelina and reached out her arm. She pointed her finger and touched Kelina over her chest. It glowed brightly for a moment and she whispered to her. "Don't be afraid"
Another being faded into view in the room: Kelina's mother. She joined hands with the little girl and smiled warmly to Kelina before they both blinked out of existence like a blown out candle.
As they disappeared, the door Kelina was standing in front of seemed to blow open with a gust of wind, and inside a single moon beam leaked in from an oculus overhead. The room was completely circular, a perfect cylinder to compliment the oculus. Columns lined the walls at spaced intervals and the moon seemed to shine on something in the center of the room...

The girl had spoken, and touched her. It was gentle but she still felt it. Don't be afraid? That's what the little girl had to say to her after this, well maybe there was a reason. Another glow lit up the room and Kelina turned to see who else was here, her mouth turned down in a frown as she saw it was her mother. But her mother smiled at her! Her mother had seen her! She made a step towards her where her mother was joining hands with the young girl, but before she could get to them, they were gone. How strange, but her mother had seen her, she got to see her mother's smile again.
Like the saying, as one door closes, another one opens up. The door behind the little girl had opened and it was kind of like the clearing, a perfect circle. There were columns just like in the room she was in now, and the ceiling had an opening to let the moon shine through. How neat a room was this? But the moonshine from the ceiling seemed to come down on something in the center of the room. Like the little girl had said, she wasn't going to be afraid. Her stride was longer, but she was still careful, as she walked to the center of the room.

In the center of the room, lying on a platform, was a beautiful deep blue bow. It held the light and seemed to shimmer in the glow of the moon. Behind it on the far wall was another statue of Serin, holding her arms out with her palms cupped together, as if beckoning Kelina to take it.

Kelina paused in her tracks as she noticed the shape on the platform. It was a beautiful bow, blue like her favorite color. The statue of Serin on the far wall seemed to want her to take it. Walking slowly up to the platform, she stared at the deep blue bow, in awe of it. She eyed her own bow, it had served her well all this time, but could she pass up a gift from Serin? Gently taking the bow off the platform, she put her own bow on it. One bow given for one bow taken.

As Kelina took the bow, the room seemed to glow, emanating from Serin's hands and spreading outward, enveloping all it touched with it's warmth. The glow brightened and before long, became blinding.
Then something changed. With a jolt, Kelina was sitting up in her bed from her home. Had it all been a dream? The moon filtered in from the light canopy overhead and through to her eyes.
Leaned up against the wall of her home was that same beautiful blue bow...
