Danny shook her head, unable to comprehend what Amphi- Amphi- was saying.
The hand in Amphi's began to shake a little. "Did ... Did I do something wrong? If- why don't I know him now." Her breathing was frantic, eyes dilating a little as her wings quivered behind her. "I don't get it."
If this was a prank, it wasn't a very nice one Amphi!

Ah no she wasn't trying to make Danny cry!
Amphi's arms wrapped around Danny, holding her close.
"I don't know what exactly you did Danny, But you gave up something very important about Rikki and now he's paying for it but you not remembering him." Amphi held her friend close, "And somewhere inside you, I think your heart is hurting too, but you don't remember because you don't remember him."
"you have to become friends with him again Danny." The mermaid pulled back, "Become friends with him again and then you'll see okay?"

"So it is my fault?" Danny said with the tiniest voice she could. "I ... hurt him? And me?" She didn't feel hurt, just upset. She didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, boilfriend or not unless it was Edel.
She pulled back. "We um ... I promised him we would hang out on Saturday ..." she said dreamily. "But Amphi I d-don't know if I can do this I mean ..."
Danny ran her fingers through her hair- an odd thing she did when she was frustrated sometimes. Where she'd picked it up she couldn't remember. "I can't date someone I don't even know!"

"I..." Amphi looked just as lost, clutching down at her chest. "I think you made a mistake somewhere in the tear Danny, but....but that's not all your fault. It was really confusing in there." The mermaid closed her eyes, "At the end, we were given a option. If we were in pain, we could give it up. I didn't want too. You know I could've...." She looked away ashamed, "I could've forgotten that I have a tracker in my body but...I thought it be better to remember. SO I don't make that mistake again."
She smiled now, instead focusing on her friend. "That's a good start! You don't have to call it a date just yet!" Amphi, reached down to take Danny's hand in hers. "It'll be your first um...reofficial meeting of Rikki! Where you've known him before but you are meeting him again for the first time!" Amphi squeezed her friends hand.
"I will always be here for you Danny okay> I love you. If you don't want to, you don't have too. But I want you to try giving it a chance at least. And if not then you can just come date me instead!"

Danny looked down. She was disappointed by Amphi's words- no, no it wasn't the mermaid at all. That would be incorrect blame. Danny was disappointed in herself, for not having the capacity to understand, nor the memories of something apparently so important.
Her eyes lit up at the idea of dating Amphi. It was incredibly tempting. She settled for pulling the girl closer and hugging. "Thanks fishface," she mumbled. "I'll try being his ghoulfriend I guess ... I don't really know what to do. Will you help me wear a pretty outfit?"
If anything, Danny would at least take the opportunity to play dress up with Amphi.

Amphi hugged her friend tight and nodded her head.
"Do you want to wear a bikini outfit or a dress? or um..." She scrambled out of under Danny to go over to closet, looking over things.

So they played dress up to the point where both forgot why they were dressing up.
At least Danny got to see Amphi naked.
