You're leaning to my point. Don't you see that dedicating yourself enough to something or someone in order to take away their life is wrong? I know you stated that, but if everyone beleived in one religion or no religion at all then we would be set? So many problems would be solved! Critism would still exist, but it would be a lot less hurtful. It wouldn't be, "Idiot! Don't you know ____ doesn't exist?" anymore. It's a poor example, but I hope you get the point.

Yah But it sure be boring...

But seriously, the power of humanity comes from the abiltiy to cooperate but also from differences. I do see your point of how Making yourself a martyr or others is wrong, but still think aobut it, if everybody was under one religion, there would only be one voice for humanity, Even with Similiarties in relgion there are still more differnces to consider. With one relgion we'd all have to believe one thing, and humans can't no shouldn't do that. Why? Because what if that belief was so one sided, so full of unthinking that everyboyd be miserable. Like before, our ability to choose a life is our greatest asset, not be born into one.

Here's my theory:

Time has no begining, it has no end, the Big Bang did not create the universe because the universe has no creation, it just...is...the Big Bang was the destruction of a particularly large star when the star died it exploded and formed this galaxy spreading pieces of itself across the universe. Eventually those particals were drawn back in by an unexplainable magnetic force. Possibly that magnetic force was the power of a higher being, which you humans refer to as "God" perhaps not, there is no way to know. However when the collection of smaller stars cooled down, it left our galaxy in the explosions place. Over time heavenly bodies or planets formed and thus our galaxy was formed, I also firmly believe that there are new galaxies being formed every second of every day thus the universe is constantly expanding to hold these galaxies. Also, there has never been a begining of life, for in the universe I believe there are trillions possibly an endless number of intelligent species which have existed forever and will exist forever. There is no end of life there is no end or begining of time, there may be an end of time for humans when this planet dies but for the universe there has never been a begining or an end. Now I am not an atheist I firmly believe in a higher power, however I believe that this power formed this galaxy and left things to run themselves every so often stepping in to give aid to you humans of feeble mind for instance: The Covenant of God and Abraham, God leading the Hebrew's out of Egypt, God communicating to Mohammad, etc.. Thanks for reading my theory, feel free to pm me about it or respond to this message.

I've read your theory! It's just that I have no response for it. It's interesting, but I feel like this topic is dead already.

My theory.... Okay.... I don't really have a theory. I agree with Mech on a lot of points. I think the universe just "is" as he stated. I think that the search for creation of the universe will never be answered because it will lead to more dead ends. For example, say some day humans find the place where life began and figured out how it happened. Then people will ask how'd it get there, how did that come to be? I don't think there will ever be an answer. Like how people (me included) believe God created the universe. Then people will be on an impossible search of where God came from. Something had to be there to create something scientifically. There will always be something that we don't know where it came from. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, but I had this discussion in my bio class the other day and I liked that point a lot.

No one will ever know how the univers was created.. Honestly there are good points to both sides.. The "creation" theory and the big bang.. In my opinion, we won't know anything-any of the worlds great mysteries- until we ourselves die. Then things will be revealed to us.
But as far as my own theory... I really don't have one. Though i think the big bang theory is flawed. How can there be particals and atoms and things when nothing, nothing, has even been around yet? It doesn't make sence to me. Creation is even flawed (i am a christian too..XP), there can't be a being when there's nothing out there. Then again who knows.. Maybe there was something... Something that created even God .....Time stood still until the world was created... by Him.....But that's even flawed...He might of created the world. Our world.. But then....who created the others?.. Was there other Gods out there making different solar systems? Maybe..I don't know... Time is constant.. There's nothing that can stop it. But then there's memory, that's different. Maybe instead of calling it Time, call it the universal memory, that we have thus far found out. For who knows how long there was absolute nothingness, before our universe even begun to shape itself.

I don't think we will ever really know why the universe was created but science has proved how. I don't have my own theory about it but I believe the Big Bang theory was correct unless there is someother theory I haven't heard of yet. I think their is some kind of power out there we can even graso with our minds that helped the universe become whta it was but I guess I'll never really know.

@ Keero - Some thing can be created from nothing, scientist in Germany have made anti-matter, which in a nut shell is matter and atoms being created from nothing.

Here's what I remember off hand from Astronomy 104 and the collective assumption of the big bang. Apparently around 13.5 to 14 billion years ago some great built mass with intense pressure in a much smaller universe exploded. As it did, tiny particles began to combine and gravitate to one another. We went from Quarks, to Protons electrons antiprotons, and antielectrons, to swarms Hydrogen atoms, to swarms Helium atoms, to the resulting Protogalactic clouds, which formed Stars and galaxies. In a nutshell it's been one hell of a chain reaction so far and it's nowhere near finished.

Now being a Nihilist I don't believe the universe had an objective purpose to begin with. Why is a human factor and nothing else.
