She sighed, just as he pushed her away. She didn't worry or fret, his movement held no malice or urgency to it. The smile that came to her lips when he laughed, when he touched her cheek was sweet, and it it made her eyes shine. (or was that the tears?)
Time could have stopped when he kissed her. She might have been ok with that. This kiss was sweet, soft, and not bittersweet. It was...she couldn't find the words for it. She was sad to see it end.
Nodding, she smiled. "I suppose we should. Things to do, beasts to avoid." Even as she spoke she pressed her cheek against his hand. "I remember you," she murmured. Then she sighed, and straightened.
"Come on, then. Pick a direction."

He laughed, glad she did, though he didn't think it would have changed anything. Even when she didn't, she still had feelings for him, and it touched him, deep down. "And I you." he figured she would have at least known by now, considering he wouldn't just randomly... kiss someone. At least he didn't he was that kind of person.
Taking her hand, he gave it a squeeze, and smiled. "Doesn't matter. As long as I'm with you, I'll go anywhere."

He was right. It wouldn't have changed much. She might have been a little less huggy, but other than that... "You do?" she blinked at him, the smile returning to her face. "I mean. I hoped you did, but after you kissed my hand, I dunno. This isn't too far out there..."
She squeezed his hand in return, then stepped in close to give him a kiss on the cheek. His words were sweet and she liked that. "I don't remember you being quite this romantic." Not that she knew what romantic was. The word just kind of popped up.

He grinned, lifting up her hand to kiss it again. "That was before I remembered. I was teasing you, but I wanted to see your resolve."
Huh, those words sounded familiar. Where had he heard it?
Though, he only chuckled as she kissed his cheek, realizing he missed her affection more than anything. "Oh? I remember you telling me I can be quite romantic when I want to be." He grinned, hand playing with her pendant, eyes twinkling. Or was that romantic when he hasn't intended it? It didn't really matter to him at that point.

The voice in her head scoffed, but she didn't sound particularly annoyed. Sherry responded by smiling. The smile was as much for Armagnac as for Jake. "Teasing me?" She nearly giggled. "But wanting to see my resolve? Are you saying you wanted me to chase you?" She'd had every intention of doing just that. It just...was somewhat different from her memories. Had something he'd forgotten been the difference? Was it still forgotten, or did he remember and just...not care? Maybe it didn't matter, because either way, she was smiling. Sherry didn't dwell on those thoughts long. Jake was talking talking, he was fiddling with her pendant. Her heart beat a little bit faster at that. "I recall saying something like that." She sighed and leaned against him. "It seems it's true." She kept a hold of his hand as she pushed away, "But I think I like you even when you're not romantic. Or maybe you're romantic all the time." She shrugged and took two steps away, still holding his hand. They really should get a move on.

Flustering slightly, he turned his head. "Well, I... at that time I didn't remember. I mean, there was those memories back then, but then the memories I did regain... it made me question if we really were together. But you seemed so sure, so I wanted to know if you really felt that way, even if I hadn't at the time. I wanted to know if you'd give up just because I didn't remember." Then he smiled, taking both hands in his. "But then I did remember, so you don't have to do something like that anymore."
Having her lean against him brought some sort nostalgic feeling, and he smiled. He had Sherry with him and Chester in his head. At that moment, everything seemed right with the world.
"Oh?" He gave no warning as he pulled her close, scooping her up in his arms so that he was carrying her.
They really should get moving.GrnGriff I have no idea what I'm typing. I swear I'm awake.

"Oh, so it was a test." She couldn't help but smile. He hadn't flat out rejected her, he'd been going to give her a chance, even with those memories he mentioned. It warmed her heart. "You should know, though, that I was not planning to 'give up'." She wasn't good at giving up. She giggled, or tried to, as he scooped her up, but it probably came out as something more of a pleased gasp. She wasn't sure what had prompted it, the romantic comments maybe?, but she wasn't going to complain. "Mhm," she nodded as she wrapped her arm around him and tried to nestle a little closer. "Must be all the time. And if not...I think I could get used to it." She rather liked the attention. It was entirely possible they were not going to get very far.

I don't recall you being this chatty.
Perhaps, the reason he hasn't flat out rejected her this time was due to his memories back when they were just fog. Though at that time he didn't know her at all, he found himself attached to her for some reason, and ended her liking her regardless. Though the memories confused him, he knew now. This was the way it was meant to be.
"I'm glad you didn't give up," he smiled, nuzzling his nose against hers. "And I'll carry you more if that's what you want. Except that wouldn't be too practical with beasts running about."
It'd be a miracle if they got anywhere at all.

"Good, 'cause I wasn't going to." She put as much 'and that's a fact' behind the statement as she could, considering her current position. She made it a point to return his nuzzle, though. She really liked the attention, and she intended to encourage it, even if she didn't realize that's what she was doing. She gave a tiny laugh. "Well then put me down. No sense in putting us both in danger for my fancies." She tried to lean on him more, even though she really couldn't any more than she already was. "You can carry me around later," she said, following the suggestion with a kiss on his cheek. They were still not moving very fast.

His grip only tightened and he frowned at her words. Nope, not letting go. Instead, he pulled her closer (if even possible) and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. He liked the attention too ok.
"How about you just tell me where to go and we'll worry about running into monsters later?" He had every intention to carry her for as long as possible.

She answered him with another kiss. "Alright then. That way." She pointed in a random direction.
Sherry giggled. "No need to rush, though. What with monsters and all."
