The mighty Guardian fell to one last volley of arrows; three knocked and sent flying in a last ditch effort to take him down before he could run her through with one of his mighty javelins.
Aldara took a moment after his defeat to gather herself again, hooking her bow onto her back so that it was resting within easy reach of being gathered again. She could hear him whispering to her, even then. The battle had been a good one; he was pleased with their joint effort, especially that last stand.
"Quiet... I need to think." She murmured as she followed the shadows towards the shelves, eying each one of them carefully. "You have all been wonderful companions. Thank you for standing beside me; for fighting on until the end. I would have been lost without you, you know."
She paused on each one of them for a moment, hand resting lightly on a shoulder, brushing a strand of hair away from a face. She had gone through so much with them in such a short time. It felt like... Forever.
Her eyes did not linger on her companions for long beyond that, however. The shelves in front of her had finally caught her attention. So many things...
"I... I don't know which one. Leta, I..." Her head tilted as she glanced to the only other female in the party. "Help me. I want to make the right choice."
Her eyes lingered on as the shadow turned, selecting a grail to hold out to her. This one.
Aldara's fingers covered the shade's in drawing the grail closer to her, lifting it up to her lips so that she could take a sip...
As the cool liquid coursed down her throat she could feel something seem to shift and change within her. Something she had lost was returning. Was it something more than what she had lost in the Gauntlet? Whatever memories had been taken from her?
Yes. Yes.
Flight feathers lengthened on her arms, filling in properly and talons tore through the simple shoes that she had been wearing, shredding the leather and scratching at the floor. This was a part of herself that she kept hidden; a part that she tried to ignore... And it was trying to let her know that it was important; that she had to remember.
